  • This song is so beautiful! :)

  • I HAVE TO KNOW THE NAME OF THIS SONG!!

  • @TramxDT Can I have please ? :)

  • Possibly the most saddest and emotional moment in the history of the simpsons.

  • Comment removed

  • @LittleKuribabylon This is actully pretty sad

  • i uploaded a video with this part too...remembering my dear friend that died just one year and 2 months ago at 18....

  • this is my favorite simpsons moment

  • God this makes me cry.

  • Someone please tell me how he is called this song could make me

  • and actually having said what I said about the new epsiodes they aren't that bad, they still continue to be as entertaining as the new Family Guy, yes nothing tops the classics nothing ever does but I wouldn't say they are shit

  • I think if I had to choose between Family Guy and Simpsons I think I would pick Simpsons everytime, not only because it has been with me since I was a small child and I have grown up with these characters but Simpsons had a lot of heart and tackled some real issues, Family Guy is clever and a lot of the humour is pretty brilliant and despite the declining quality of the new episodes I think Simpsons is the best because of moments like this that get you inside

we all wept for you Homer :')

  • Homer was goofy but he had a personality, sometimes you could relate to him or some of the stories featured in the show. They used to tackle serious topics in a funny way, sometimes you didn't even notice it right away, but there was always a hidden message in the end. What made it different from all other shows is that it wasn't a how-stupid-you-can-be sitcom just like family guy is.

  • Holy shit. Everytime I watched this episode I stayed for the credits because of this song.

    Thank you OP.

  • This is what separates shows like The Simpsons and King of the Hill from Seth Macfarlane's shit

  • @labiamajoraxx Thank you. I like Seth's cartoons, but these shows have more emotion and ties, not all fart jokes a majority of the time.

  • @labiamajoraxx

    Apples and oranges bro

  • The reason why older episodes were more emotional is that they had time to actually tell a whole story. But as the years have gone by, commercials have taken up more of the air time,

  • They never make sad/heartfelt episodes anymore. That's what set it apart from other animated sitcoms, it could genuinely make you laugh and cry.

  • Remember when The Simpsons was good?

It's getting harder and harder to remember.

  • Beautiful. "The Simpsons" used to have real heart to it.

  • Thanks!

  • beautiful

  • I love The Simpson because of this... its make cry easily ... its touching by itself!

    The Simpson its unique, really...

I'm not going to cry now... ... ¡Oh, crap! T-T

  • My dad died when I was 16 and this episode always reminds me of him. A great episode.

  • This is why Simpsons is better then Family guy, you dont see things like this in family guy. Unfortunately you dont see this in the simpsons anymore either :(

  • this episode just was on tv...

i think i am gonna call my mom

  • this ending always makes me cry :'( one of the best simpson moments in history.

  • One of the nicest pieces of music ever, and like lots of people makes me cry also, poor homer, love chuu <3

  • I´m not gonna cry.I´m not gonna cry.I´m not gonna cry....FUCK

  • I miss good Simpsons

  • My mother just died yesterday, her funeral was today... now this song brings me up more things...

  • I saw the episode where she died last night. My first thoughts were of this song.

  • poor homer his mom was fighting for peace when she should have been their for homer

  • I always tear up at the end of this episode. 'the Simpsons' used to be more than a funny cartoon.

  • aw that music is so sad, i loved that episode.

  • What set the old episodes apart is that the characters had real emotions and feelings too.

  • This part and with the one when you see why Homer is working.. You know "Do it for her" Never cried like that before... it was so touching and beautiful!!

  • pulgares arriba si lloraste cuando se te viene a la mente homero despidiendose de su madre :(

  • the best touching moment of the Simpsons was Lisa's Substitute. especially the scenes with Homer and Lisa at the end.

  • makes me cry =(

  • It was so depressing. Most touching video ever.

  • saddest simpsons episode

  • Seeing Homer watching his mother leave even though they have been together for a short time made me cry. I gotta say this is one of the most saddest yet touching episode in Simpsons history.

  • This is one of the most beautiful touching episode of The Simpsons. This musical piece is very very nice and a good decision than putting the normal ending with the Simpson's theme!!

  • 3 people didnt cry

  • This is very, very touching.

  • What happens in this episode..

  • @zwut1 homer sees his mother for the first time since he was a child. He thought she died, but she explains that she had to go on the run from the law. They're reunited briefly but she has to leave again, and it ends with them parting and Homer staring at the stars during the credits.

  • I get goosebumps every time I watch this

  • @MrVinnieeeeeeee its season 7 episode 8 mother Simpson I think its called

  • This is a very very sad scene.

  • whats the title of the episode?

  • @MrVinnieeeeeeee mother simpson

  • One of the most touching tv-shows i have ever seen.

Sadly, i can't find the tribute to Mona Simpson in the end in here :( I really like it.

  • I always choke up when I watch this:')

  • I lost my mother shortly before this episode first aired in 1994 (I was 6). I was a huge fan of The Simpsons, and this episode really meant a lot to me. This ending was and still is extremely special to me. It's rare that a cartoon can move someone so profoundly. Thanks for putting it up.

  • @jville2434

    It aired on 1995.

  • @GokuMcDuck I lost my mother in 1994. Sorry to hear of your loss. Hold in there.

  • @jville2434

Thanks. I was just in 6th grade back in 1994; this episode aired when I was in jr high. Ever since, I've felt odd about time.

  • Beautiful.

  • Lloro cada vez que lo veo... es tan hermosa la cancion, me inspira tanta paz..- :)

  • My favorite Simpsons episode of all time! Thank you so much for uploading this gorgeous song, and for the download link!

  • One of the more memorable episodes, this scene was soo sad

  • Why aren't there episodes like this anymore?

  • I think about my girlfriend every night, looking at the sky...I love her too much to let her go..no matter how many times she gets annoyed by me, or she's mad at me.

  • Each time I see this I give my mom a hug.

  • Comment removed

  • To a man who lost his mother...multiple times...

  • I always wanted to see this part, it's really beautiful

  • This is the greatest shot in the history of the Simpsons, Homer contemplating the stars.

  • @RDBeatnik Couldn't agree with you more. God it's amazing.

  • The two people who disliked this are arseholes

  • @Anzhaoable well ofcourse, its mr. Burns who disliked it first, because he is an evil "arsehole" as you say :)

The other one is Smither's, because... well, he kiss mr. Burns ass :P

  • The most wonderful part for me is just when that shooting star whizzes past. Such a beautiful ending :)

  • The music in this is pretty, but I've always thought Lisa's First Word and Maggie Makes Three as being more touching. I dunno, at any rate moments like this is why Family Guy will always just be silly trash compared to the Simpsons.

  • Best post EVER!!

  • This is why The Simpsons is great.

  • This episode is one of my favorites. I get a little choked up every time I see this ending.

  • this is what makes it stand out from south park and family guy

  • this ending always makes me cry :(

  • @9999fail Now when I think about it, I agree with you. Family Guy is indeed more focused on absurd situation humour.

  • Thankyou. One of the Simpsons moments that's always stuck with me...

  • @9999fail How about the episode in which Louis "kills" Stewie?

  • I remember this tear jerking episode. It caught my whole family by surprise. We never cry during shows or TV but I think we had such an attachment to homer we felt for him. My dad left the room

  • You don't see stuff like this on Family Guy! I cried like a bitch

  • @ELECTRICGLITTERFUCK Well, I'm sure there are some touching moments in Family Guy, too.

  • @IP6000 Especially the episode where Brian thinks his life doesn't mean anything. So Stewie makes the family think Brian is dead to show him how important he is to them.

  • @bbSouthstreet Ehm... Which season was that in?

  • @bbSouthstreet There's one episode where Brian and stewie get trappped in their bank vault and Stewie finds brian's gun, only to discover that it's brians easiest way out of life.

  • @ELECTRICGLITTERFUCK It's one of the few deeper moments of the show.

  • I have always tried to find this before on the web and voila, it's now on YouTube. Please Fox don't take this down. It's perhaps one of the best scenes, from one of the best episodes, to one of the best shows of all time.

I don't know why anyone would dislike this, but it really says something about the writers of that episode if there are than 21000 views to this video.

I grew up with the Simpsons and hate what its become. No longer light-hearted comedy but political/social agenda slapstick

  • My all-time favorite Simpsons episode. Tremendously moving without sacrificing the gag-a-minute pace of other classic episodes.

  • this song is so beautiful

and shows how philosophical the simpsons is

  • *Can't talk. Drowning in tears*

  • I've had this on loop for what seems like an Eternity. Such a tender song, chokes me up so much. Beautiful

  • Undoubtedly the most tender Simpsons moment ever.

  • She wasn't dead at the end of this episode, this is the one where she get's on the bus at the end and says Goodbye to Homer, it's still a very sad scene like, but she isn't dead at the end of this episode.

  • Matt Groening should be ashamed for humiliating the series with the new episodes like he is now.

  • @YellowLickilickyXL

Well he hasn't really worked on an episode in about 18 years so....

  • This episode is very sad, love the ending makes you wonder.

  • it was a very sad episode, just makes you think about life.

  • The best ever ending to a tv episode I have ever seen. Unbelievable and too difficult to describe further. The Simpsons is the best thing that ever happened to tv.

  • This is art, what have the simpsons become...

  • this episode and Maggie makes 3 have the most heart touching endings ever

  • @xXSaosinXx1219 Lisa's First Word was touching too.

  • i love this episode, not just the song but the whole show, I almost cried I don't cry very often. It's so emotional they should make more like this, a lot more. Peace to the world and god bless the souls of rebels against everything bad in the world.

  • Must have a longer version of this song :<

  • Montgomery Burns dislikes this song.

  • This is one of the saddest thing ive seen todo with a show this and Futerama the episode with Fry's Dog waiting for him outside is just so touching

  • For the person who disliked this - DICK

  • @slatters84 There 2 dislikes now >:( Lets hunt them down!

  • I think this is what Family Guy has been trying to do recently by giving us serious storylines with some characters, eg. Brian's bank vault episode and that whole murder special. They're trying to give us a better feeling for their characters, making us empathetic for them.

Problem is, it's been VERY well established that their comedy is nihilistic, so it's pointless to even care for the characters at this late a stage. They started out comedy, and they can't change that now.

  • @primepm Simpsons are much different. It's always been about the family in general and their triumphs and/or failures in getting by, be it large scale (monorails) or small scale (childhood crushes). They've established characters with their own emotional swings, and so they're allowed to get away with touching episodes like this

Family Guy just can't; it's just too little, FAR too late. As silly as the Simpsons have become today, they'll still top Family Guy in emotional responses like this

  • the last scene with homer by his car might be the saddest/most beautiful scene I have ever seen on TV

  • @panpantesmort2010 You have to watch the episode of Futurama about Fry's dog, so sad =(

  • I've always found this episode heartbreaking. But even more so, now. I lost my mother to cancer, 14 months ago, and I'm still grieving heavily. Some days worse than others. Sometimes, I sit outside at night, looking up at the moon and stars, thinking of her, hearing this tune in my head.

  • @babygiraffe123 Thats nice.

  • @babygiraffe123 must have hit hard,sorry

  • Comment removed

  • @babygiraffe123

    -[[im sorry-[

damn-[[ i have a rain of tears

its just unfair to be a child-[[ i cant even image what i will do when my mother will die-[[[

i think i will follow to her

  • @babygiraffe123 I lost my mother a few months before this episode aired. This episode basically summed up my grieving process. This scene in particular is extremely powerful to me. It really is an amazing show.

  • @babygiraffe123 sorry to hear

  • @babygiraffe123 My condolences

  • @babygiraffe123 :( best wishes.

  • And then she died and in her will asked the family to get into a WACKY adventure in a volcano base!

    Fuck Zombie Simpsons.

  • Those onions are strong ;_;

  • r.i.p mona simpson

  • You would think that since I own this episode on DVD I would stop getting all teary at the end, but nope, still gets me every time

  • watching homer sitting on that car is enough to make a grown man cry...

  • This episode has the most emotional final in the history of the simpsons

  • Even after all these years, this song still gets me every time.

  • how is the name of the song??

    thanks

    is awesome song

    ===)))

  • @Radha0713 I think it was composed for the episode, Simpsons have done a number of original music pieces. I wish a longer version of it existed it's very moving.

  • one of the most emotionally touching scenes ever...

  • It always makes me cry :(

  • I always remember this episode, when homer prolongs his stay on the desert highway after his mother departs, and just glares at the stars. A real nostalgic scene!

  • Someone has a wallpaper of this scene?

  • @Sdrujal

Try this, replace (DOT) with an actual .

    img220.imageshack(DOT)us/img220/7483/homerwallpaper.jpg

  • @BexRanner thx man!!!

  • @BexRanner :( file not found

  • @Sdrujal Press the PrtSc button on your keyboard. Go to paint, and paste the image. Then crop the image accordingly. Thanks for the upload one of my fav Simpsons scenes.

  • beautiful and sad..The song and seeing homer there really makes me so sad.The Simpsons was really a great show in its prime.A shame its become a shadow of itself.Homer will always be more likeable then the likes of peter from family guy because he really isnt a bad man at heart,he loves his mother and misses her deeply..Its sweet and emotional. The best simpsons ending ever.

  • heartbreaking

  • No matter how many times I watch this scene, I always feel depressed afterwards. :-(

  • Thank you so much for uploading this =D I can't remember if I left a comment on here before lol

  • this is one of the most memorable simpsons endings. i still get a little teary eyed with this

  • Reminds me a lot of the 4 Futurama episodes that had touching endings.

What makes this extra sad for me is remembering the scene where Homer finds his mother passed away in the armchair after fighting with her. It's hard not to get a bit depressed about how sad that is.

  • @TheOrichalcon Jurassic Bark

  • @Bluedybluedyblue Yes, as well as Luck of the Fryish, Leela's Homeworld and Lethal Inspection

  • Ahh, i like it... :D

  • Awk the vid keeps freezing halfway through D:

  • one of the saddest tv endings ever. second only to futuramas jurassic bark (im a dog lover, lol)

  • Bexranner, what is the song over the top?

  • such a great moment :)

  • Can I say that Mother Simpson's passed away now, I now look at this scene and think this is what homer does when he thinks of his mother. I also love that even homer, as stupid and obnoxious as he is, has a emotional side.

  • seriously, my eyes just filled up watching that last scene with Homer sitting on his car gazing up at the stars

  • I love that this episode has two of my absolute all time favorite Simpsons song moments in the span of 3 minutes, and they are two completely different tones.

The first is the fantastic "Waterloo" sequence, which NOBODY has yet uploaded the English version on YouTube(!!!), and of course, this song, which always brings a tear to my eyes.

Not a single show can hold a candle to The Simpsons. None.

  • I remember being 8 when I first seen this episode. It made me so sad at the time, and it still does. And I love the credits don't fade to black, adding to the poignancy of the episode. It's one of those Simpsons episodes that stands out as one of it's finer dramatic moments.

  • Omg this is the only episode from the simpsons that makes me cry my eyes out!!!! I love it!

  • oboes and flutes! check " prelude song f the gulls"

  • Theres something that just relaxes me the way homer looks at the stars after saying goodbye to his mom. Hes not with his family hes just under the stars remembering.

  • why - o - why didn't you start uploading a minute before that? Thanks anyway, but what transcends this scene is missing :(

  • This was pretty emotional for a comedy show wasn't it

    <
