Some songs sound like the Beatles because they belong to the same genre of music and the Gallaghers love Lennon. McCartney is a big fan of Noel's. Obviously he doesn't feel slighted, but you do...lol. Comical.

@van1980 it's not that they're ripoffs really, but the intro does sound a bit like a day in the life, the beatles were influenced by others as well and it was reflected in their music, it didnt affect the fact that they're still the band that made it all happen, most pop singers are influenced by the beatles, oasis were affected by the beatles as well so no one should be shallow about some of their music turning out to be similar to beatles music, it's perfectly normal.

@theblacktrash Dude it sounds like a day in the life at the beginning because Noel used the 1st chord of a scale, then progressed to the 3rd. As in a day in the life. Thats it, major 1st to 3rd. Hardly copying. Lennon didnt invent that interval nor progression. Its been used for centuries. Anyways, get some sence man.

love this song but think Noel went 'just' awed bit overboard with the strings. Noel doesn't realize how good his tunes are sometimes when they 1st get recorded. I mean even Noel says he regrets putting songs like aquience masterplan etc as b- sides.

@FlyersHockeyPride As a football fan (I'm not a soccer fan), I can tell you that you that you are in the minority, most football fans I know think its cliche rubbish that is only made decent by the soundtrack, I know very few people who could be even bothered to see the third one. If you think a movie like that is deserving of a song like this then I'm amazed. But everyone is entitled to their opinion, just don't think you can speak for the whole of the footballing world

@FlyersHockeyPride na mate, Im a fanatical football or "soccer" fan. And I play it every week and I can hand on heart honestly say that the movie "Goal" is a peice of shit. Its god awful acting and painfully unessacary cameo's are laughable at best. I think if anything you'd be in the minority for liking that movie.

Great song...can't believe Noel allowed it to be wasted ona crap film like Goal..should have polished it a bit more (got a proper drummer to record the track) and stuck it on Don't believe the truth or Dig out your Soul.
