  • Friend the pickups to get good sound depend? with a emg 81 can achieve a tremendous sound?

  • @masterjh1didnt get right the first sentence, but the pickups depend of the wood, the amp (mostly), but also the way you play and lot of stuff.

the emg 81 can get a really hard sound

  • @yungsoo friend I meant if a good emg pickup as it showed in an amp modeling as VYPYR? make the wrong question,

  • @yungsoo "Get get right the first sentence"... very uncool and unfriendly gesture from your part...

  • Can tell me what software and settings are you using for the usb recording, because i cant get a decent recording via the usb out.

  • @ayushsharma06 I use "audacity", it's a free software you can fin on the net.

I did not get a decent sound out of the usb at first.

I had to lower the input level because it was too high

check the input levels and tell me how it works

  • IMO, the best tone is a tie between the Diezel and the Mesa

  • this or the vypyr 60?

  • @Max45090 if you have deaf neighbours, get the 60, but the 75 sounds really good

  • @yungsoo is it so loud? but the vypyr 60 is a tube amp so it sound better then the 75

  • @Max45090 very very loud, on 5, it is very loud

  • @yungsoo ok but i dont gigging just at home in room

  • @Max45090 by the way which pickup will sound better with vypyrs emgs or the blackouts? and what the name of the song did you play at 1:55

  • @Max45090 it's called "no remorse" by metallica, first album :)

    blackouts are better

  • @yungsoo the neighbours can suck

  • @Max45090 haha yes fuck them

  • I just brought this amp home from Guitar Center. It's an awesome practice amp.

  • The deizel sounded the best

  • Wow, you have no idea of what a guitar should sound like.

  • Well that sounds like cheap shit glad you posted I nearl..... Oh no I didn't I have dignity

  • @tascouts120 its usb recording and its a 300 dollars amp

  • How come your some beast rythm player but not so good on the single note stuff?

  • Usd***

  • I got my 75w for 200 isd

  • Hey man, those are some awesome tones. But please help me.I just got my Vypyr 75 a couple of days ago and the usb recording is very shitty! Its nothing close to good. Please help

  • @simon19942008 mine was very shitty too, it was too "loud".

i went to windows 7 recording settings. My line in input level was too high, I set it down, also on the recording software and then it was perfectly good.

  • @yungsoo Would you mind telling me witch software and witch settings, please?

  • @simon19942008 I used audacity (free software), and on windows, input is at 3

  • @yungsoo hi where in win7 do you change the input??tx

  • @simon19942008 try turning the post gain down. just 1,5 dots or something. hope this will help you :)

  • I also have this amp. I Love it. What cord goes into the USB Record Out, is it the Dual ended USB Cord?

  • can u switch presets on the amp without the sanpera pedal ?

  • @ramiabuhamra1 you can, you just need to press "presets" button to choose the bank (A,B or C) then choose 1,2,3 or 4. It makes 12 presets. And of course, you can save your own presets by holding 1, 2, 3 or 4

    cheers

  • @yungsoo ok thanks dude

  • Can I plug a Usb chord to my 15 watt vypyr to use on here and record.. from it.

  • @SJrowland you can't use a usb cable on the 15 watts but a 3.5 mm jack.

  • They really need to put a better speaker in the 15 watt all the super high gain amp models sound way too muddy even on my dean ml atf3000. The only amps I can get a good sound out of is the dual rectifier and the krankenstein, I can get an ok one from the dsl and the jsx.

  • I had my Peavey amp repaired recently by Peavey, and it came back with the greatest settings. I just F**KED the settings up. I watched your video, but whats the best for Metallica and Pantera? I see the settings, but where should I put the stompbox, amp, and effects at? I never could really figure out the settings completely. Thanks

  • @DKLI74 hey, i mainly use krankenstein, 6505 and JSX for metallica and pantera. The JSX is really really polyvalent, it can sound like dimebag and hetfield ! i really like it. The 6505 is really good too, and on the krankenstein, scoop the mid to get a good sound, but not too much or it will sound like bees.

I didn't use any stompbox / effects, only some reverb.

    Cheers

  • hey man what effecst of the amp you use for the mesa boogie sounds

  • @joihna1997 hey, no effects, just some reverb

  • @yungsoo yeah but in the peavey amp it comes a button

    says amp: dzl k-stein

and other says effects: chorus, bypass ,tubescreamer

    what i choosee

  • @joihna1997 to adjust the delay and reverb level, you push "effects" button OR "stompboxes" button (only on the versions up to 30 watts). Mid, High and Post gain knob become delay and reverb level knob. Hope you understood what I just said.

    Cheers

  • I want the 6505 XD But this modeling "Cover" Version is quite near to the original, but i think the distortion is a bit better with the tube amp XD

  • watch ur timing..

  • hey man i just had to comment on this video. i couldnt believe every song you played because i remember going through the exact phase you are going through right now.lots of Metallica, and Pantera,.keep up the good work man.

practice practice, remember that its not about playing it fast, its about playing it right.so dont try to force anything, become comfortable with it and than listen to the timing, because the song wont sound right without the proper timing.you got the notes, now get the feel

  • @bushisatweeker AGREEED!!!! :-)

  • very surprisingly to me, the JSX sounds the best. PLEEEEEAAAAASE tell me you can squeek out more gain from this amp then what these models have

  • @mopheadthe3rd jsx is really really good, wasn't expecting that as i'm not a huge fan of our friend joe

you can get more gain from these amps, you have to add an OD or a boost from the built in effects. It will sound good but there also is a lot of noises...

  • This one or a line6 spider jam??

Btw to use usb rec do u need a foot pedal? and can u play along movie?

    Thx

  • @6ties66 this amp is perfect if you play metal

you don't need a foot pedal to use the usb rec, but i think it's better to have one (i don't have it).

What do you mean by playing along a movie ?

  • @yungsoo I mean a song .. sorry but thx so far

  • What firmware version are you using for this one? I am afraid of buying peavey vypyr because it has lots of issues until now even with the latest firmware installed. I don't want to waste my money just for nothing. Any advice?

  • @marvinsss2005 i didnt update anything, it's stock

i already have some prob (2 or 3 times), like no sound, but you reboot it then it's fine...

  • @yungsoo and why not update the firmware?

  • @marvinsss2005 didnt think about doing it yet ^^

  • @marvinsss2005 whats the purpose of the update? does it sound better or something?

  • Should I be okay with the 30 watt if I just practice in the bedroom?

And what do you need to record to the computer?

  • @Arianator my brother has the 30 watts, he plays in his apartment without any problem.

For recording using the line out, you need a 3.5mm jack, and a software.

I personaly use "Audacity", a free editing software. Peavey gives you "Reaper", an excellent software, but i don't use it because i don't really know how to use it deeply.

  • @yungsoo Is there a difference between recording through the 3.5mm or the USB interface, quality wise?

  • @Arianator i think the usb interface is better but not sure

  • What? No B-52?

  • @KissMeImPunk

What are you talking about ?

    The giant plane ?

  • @yungsoo No..the AMPLIFIER.

  • @KissMeImPunk never heard of this amp brand, sorry ^^

  • @yungsoo Look it up man, I think it beats the shyte outta the Vyper. Try it out for yerself.

  • @KissMeImPunk Didnt see any of these amplifiers yet, will check them out next time. The vypyr is 300$ amplifier, IMO it's still the best for the money.

  • @yungsoo Solid state?

  • @KissMeImPunk 100% solid state

  • @yungsoo Good, good..I'm thinking of getting one

  • @KissMeImPunk i dont regret my peavey at all

i think it's the best amp you can find for 300$ (75w)

nevertheless, i wouldn't buy the 15 watts version, cause the speaker is differents, and there is no stombox

  • @yungsoo Well I need something at least 100W cause I'm planning to do practices and even gigs. The Line 6 I have..eh, it's alright as a 120 watt but it sounds digitized.

  • @KissMeImPunk The vypyr is available in 100 watt solid state version as well as 120 watt TUBE combo or 120 watt TUBE head..

  • @jesusvalles54

    1. I'm not using the clean channels but the green channels, there is only ONE clean (XXX).

    2. If i had used only the red ones, some guy like you would have told me "why are you using only the red ? how do the green ones sound like ?"

  • so why have you got diezel if it isbnt

  • @Pwnersupreme oh... thanks for the info. so this doesn't sound like what you would expect it to sound like?

  • Dude you recorded in some of the low gain channels songs like aces high and cemetery gates thats just dont sound good you should have record things like AC/DC stuff like this

  • @naor231 yeah i hesitated for a long time what to do.

I played those songs because i thought some metalheads would have told me "ac dc sucks, rock sucks"

  • @yungsoo

AC/DC does suck good call, loving this video Walk sounds perfect.

  • whats the difference between the red and green channels?

  • dimebucker = shitty tone

  • hey, yungsoo, think you could do a recording on the krankenstein red channel with these settings?

    pre gain: 6th dot

    low: 5th dot

    mid: 5th dot

    high: 3rd dot

    post gain: 5th dot

    i'd appreciate it.

  • @hearshotkid91 hey dude

sorry for not replying before, i don't get any message from youtube anymore when comments are posted.

ok for your request, i will do it as soon as i can cause i have a lot of exams next week.

  • @hearshotkid91 /watch?v=EO6W0MWBUmc

    you're welcome =)

  • vypyrs sound good and for the cash cant beat them.

  • Hey man cool video, I have the same amp, I;m really fond of the krank setting when you have the tubes warmed up, quick question, did you record from the line in USb interface?> or did you mic up the amp?

  • @drawnacrol nevermind dude, was so busy reading the riff discription part i didn't see you wrote that in on the top of the info, thanks anyway

  • @drawnacrol

i used the USB record out indeed ^^

  • @yungsoo cool I can't wait to try mine out now

  • @drawnacrol yeah i love mine

  • Nice video man, in your opinion which one do you think is better for metal , the dual rectifier or the peavey 6505+.

  • @vicchavill the rectifier sounds good in the video but i prefer the 6505 (not +) in real life

if you want so mids, 6505 is the amp, but if you want some mid-scoop, play on the rectifier

anyways, i chose this amp definitely because it has a 6 hi-gain amps that sound really good

  • I just got A Peavey Vypyr 100. When recording, The amp shoots to max volume, and the recordings sound bad. Advice?

  • @nickatene01

it happened to me months ago

you have to go to the sound settings and low down the recording input

it's what i did, it worked for me

  • Comment removed

  • i hear panteraaaaaa

  • I found this video again and it totally blew me away how someone could actually take this seriously... It sounds so baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

  • Thanks for showing the settings. I've got the 75W and was considering getting the 120 Head but am unsure about what cab to get with it. It's definitely a metal amp.

  • IMO the 6505 sounded best.

  • dude for metallica scope the mids and lose some of the lows and highs

  • can you do an avenged sevenfold cover or review??? recorded with the usb record out..please!! i´ll apreciate!!

  • That sounds so bad lol. Nothing like a real stein, why would they even bother putting it as setting if it sounds like the insane channel on the spider series.

  • it's a 300$ solid state amp

i was'nt expecting the real krankenstein in it.

  • oh I know I totally agree. I just dont understand why peavey would put it on there. Im not trollin or bashin

  • could you say something about 'light' channels

  • hey,

actually, i don't use light channels from the hi-gain amps.

i don't really like them except some (like the xxx= clean, the 6505 and the diezel).

    cheers

  • no i think about Twn, Dix, Plxi etc :)

  • @Archifrompoland

    well

the cleans are beautiful, especially the twn (at its best with passive pickups, sh-1 for me)

and the crunch are very very good

    overall, it's very polyvalent

  • thx :) Do you know what ams(true) are hidden under that names

  • yep: twn = fender twin dlx = fender deluxe plxi= marshall plxi brit = vox b-kat= bad-cat classic= peavey classic 50

i don't know if they sound like the real ones, but i can tell you it sounds really good

  • thanks man :D i bought it to day its great

could you tell me how save my setting for each channels (1,2,3) >

  • congrats :)

if you want to save a settings

just get the sound you want then press 1, 2,3 or 4 like a few seconds

next time, you just have to select it and you will have your sound ;o

  • NICE!! i might have go play with the high on mine later after hearing that. lol. though i tend to mix punk and metal. by the way i attached my amp up and for some odd reason the program wasn't recording when i got the stuff all set up on it. still confused about it but i'm gonna try and see what i can do.

  • The reaper works forever. It just asks you every time to buy it. They state this it is full functional always you just have to deal with the question each time. For free I can deal with it.

The USB sounds really good I think. My mic also suxx and my line in never sounds good from my VOX,

I just got this amp myself today so this made my day to head all the great OD amps all sound great That VOX was no good for Pantera so I am real excited !

    Thanks

  • What kind of guitar are you using?

For once in my life I'm liking the tone I'm getting compared to what the guy in the video is :D

  • i'm using a washburn Dime 2 Stealth, it's in alder and has a dimebucker sh-13

  • u should have mic'd the amp instead of using the usb out..

  • yeh i agree the usb sucks u need to mic it

  • well, i didn't see many videos using the usb record out, so i thought it would be cool and interesting to do it.

then, my mic isn't really good so it wouldn't have sound as it does in real.

  • In my opinion, the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier is best because it has plenty of nobs to adjust tone to whatever you crave. Although I'm not sure how heavy it gets, it has a good all around range.

  • i have the same amp with the sanpera II pedal, what type of cable u use to connect the amp to the computer? i used a printer cable that fits both, the computer and the amp....and it doesnt work (or doesnt recognized it)

do i need another type or cable, and if get it, do i need any software to make it work?

  • @flama644

hey, you simply need an usb 2.0 A-B cable.

i think your printer cable may be ok, but not sure

you may try with another usb cable ( 3$ ).

I used "audacity" (free software) for recording this video, but the peavey software (given with the amp) "REAPER" works great for me.

    cheers

  • @yungsoo

Dont u have to pay for the reaper software?

  • @flama644

    did u ?

coz i got a cd with the amp that has the evaluation version of "reaper", the demo version of "revalver hp edition" and the owner's manual

  • yea i go the cd too but theres just evaluation and demo....dont they expire after a week of use?

  • @flama644

well idk they still work for me after a month

  • did you have any latency when recording with the usb out

  • hey

i recorded with "audacity", it's a free recording software, quite easy to use

the speaker is muted when recording so you can't hear the amp.

BUT, you can active (on the software) the sound of what you're recording, there is a pretty big latency (at least 1 second).

    Quad core Q9300 2.5 GHz

    8 Go RAM

    1 To HDD

Windows 7 Home premium edition 64 bits

feel free if you have any other question

  • thx dude, i haven't tried this or the spider yet, but one of the reason i wanted the vyrpyr was the recording capability.but if the latency is that bad i will definatley have to test run them both before idecide

  • ok

the vypyr is definitely better than the spider

    the vypyr rules

but if you don't want any latency, just mic for recording

  • Sounds really buzzy and harsh to me... : ( That's what you get from record out though - I recommend mic'ing it up. If done properly, it sounds totally professional.

And to that other guy, dude, Krank's always sound fizzy as shit : D

  • krankenstein sounded way thinner than the real thing

  • dude try one out in person.. CRUSHING DUDE!!.. the vypyr I mean.. I was using the diezel and the krankenstein and HOLY SHIT!!!.. and this coming from someone who was originally looking into the roadster dude.. I want the tube version of the 212 combo though.. sold on the vypyr.. 100%

  • Modelling comes sort of close...but it never sounds 100% authentic...id go for the roadster. THe tone of a roadster boosted with a ts9 cant be beat by a $500-$100 modeling amp. Go for the real thing...youll be happy later that you did

  • nice vid man im saving up for the vypyr. sick up the sick playing

  • Keep up the good playing*.... hehehe my bad

  • thanks

it's a great amp, i really love it,

it has a lot of effects and tones
