@akropiss For the French speakers to call you is understandable. For you to join with the English in using that vile epithet for your Gallic countrymen is not!
Thanks to all who responded to my comments. I can understand how the Quebec French people are so close to the distinct language they have developed over the long time they have been in North America. However...the very probable loss of Gaelic in N.America is far more distressing. (if Gaelic were fought for in the way that Quebec French has been...it may well be here a long time.) This language and it's speakers should have special laws and political back up too. Maybe even Sign Law.
This is mighty, reminds me of the way Nfld. singers sing [as well as the small community of gaelic speakers in the Codroy Valley sing]...in the old days, not so much now, ...thank you for this reminder of how things used to be [and how I'd like them to still be].....all of us holding hands, remembering our past in song and story....and not always in English,..

And Quebec is moaning over something? This magical language and way of life is far more endangered.
When it's gone, a piece of the earth will be lost.
