  • i'm a nw35 and i have the gold deposit skin finish and i love it.

  • Your so nice! like the nicest person ever omg

  • I just got into contouring, but I have a fairly round face so I was worried it would end up looking like just a brownish patch on my face when I tried to contour. This video was SO helpful! Thank youu!

  • wow i underestimated you, your awesome!!!!

  • this video was very informative, thank you for making this! I look board to seeing more videos from you.

  • Such a great informative video, thanks so much!! :)

  • Probably the most helpful tutorial I've found for contouring - thank you...you definitely have a new subscriber :)

  • thanks!!! that was sooo informative! :) but I have a serious question - is that correct to apply the blush up to the temples?? I saw it on other tutorials and I'm doing it and so far looks quite fine, but is it correct? could you tell me how to make a very rounded face like mine look slimer? I'm struggling with that. I have strongly east-european features and a very round face looks childish. can you help me?

  • Lol, I did not mean to put that. Down there...

  • i seen your friends with her so dont talk to her i dont want her to think im telling everyone were gona date..

  • It's the best contouring tutorial I've seen on here!

  • You have no idea how much this helped me, thank you!

  • Love these videos xx

  • wow! you have a huge collection of blush!!! lol

  • Hey sarah!! I love your videos. as I was watching I noticed your foundation and contour palette. I had the coastal scents pro foundation and contour palette that looks almost exactly the same. Its a cheaper substitute and works just the same.

  • i like being able to see what your husband has been wearing! LOL

  • you seem really intelligent

  • I don't care to even watch videos for basic makeup techniques like this....but I like your videos ...so i'll watch lol! Great video for beginners. I usually use two different shades of powders to contour my face, and clients. My favorite way to contour is with cream foundations or concealers! Have you ever contoured with an air brush system?

  • Thanks! this was very helpful and I could really see the difference between the contoured cheek and the untouched side. I'm afraid I'm guilty of swiping the contour colour up and down along the hollow. Will try your method soon!

For blush placement, I find that putting blush right on the apples makes my face (round shaped -- a heart shaped gone chubby =x) look wider! I like to extend the blush from the apples towards and closer to my nose. what do you think?

  • Love it. Watching you for the first time. I am subscribing. Thank you!

  • lmfao !! charcoal ! wooooow!

  • i love your vids... very awesome.. i am one of those people that contoured in a line and i for some reason never thought of doing it in circles ... until after i saw this vid.. let me tell i love it ! thank you so much for this video ( and every video really) .. take care and hope the babies are doing great! xoxo

  • i use blunt.

  • First off, congrats on the twins! I wish you a very uneventful pregnancy! lol I found you from a link from itsaplussizeworldbbw. She listed you as one of her all-time fav beauty gurus! =) Thank you sooo much for this tutorial! I am very white like you are and all of the bronzing/contouring videos I have found are for girls who have tan skin already! I couldn't get the hang of not having a dark orange line! With the contour/blush/highlight steps, I think I might actually try this! Thanks again!

  • This was very helpful and informative. Thank you for posting this.

  • Really helpful video! Thanks :)

  • I love this video : ) This was super helpful

  • I am an NC 44 and cant find gold deposit loose powder, is the msf gold deposit similar?

  • format looks frosted hence i wouldnt use it for contour..will harmony work well for olive skin tone around NC40?? thanx !! xxox

  • This is really helpful, thanks! :)

  • i can't find that gold deposit loose can you tell me where you got yours, thanx

  • hello, where do I get the mac gold deposit loose? is it a pro-product and also is it sparkly or just glowy? Thank you!

  • hey Sarah, can you please do a Taylor Swift "Mine" inspired make up?

  • Amazing tutorial!

  • how much pressure would you say you apply when contouring? like soft as if its a babys face or as if you're applying nail polish?

  • what about if your face is rounder or longer or square etc? i know their are different ways to contour different face shapes, but im not sure what they are :S

  • you are the best love u can you give us alternative ,,, because mac is very expensive

  • you are the best love u

  • I never saw the benefits of contouring until I saw this video (and your nose contour video)! Makes me want to run out to my local make up counter and pick up more shades -- but I have a similar skin tone to you, and I'm sure I have a dupe for sculpt somewhere. Some what similar anyway.

Also, thanks for the blush/highlighting portion! I now know I've been using a bit TOO much blush!

  • i love the way you explain things!

and this video is fantastic! :)

  • amazing video Sarah!! Thank you! :) Can you do a video on concealing (mostly blemishes but maybe undereye too?) xo

  • Good video! I was fooling with my digital camera and notice (now that I'm older) how my face has no contours ... going to try your techniques !!!

  • hey i cant find the 165 i really want it i checked online not there

  • @mizzishukaur the MAC 165 was limited edition and now discontinued but Sigma makes an exact 165 dupe! :)

  • @whitalisci0us thank you

  • @whitalisci0us uhh whats it called??

  • @mizzishukaur The Sigma one is called the

Tapered Highlighter #F35.. it's basically an EXACT duplicate! :)

  • hi Sarah, Where can I get the Gold deposit loose powder? I know there is a MSF thats called Gold Deposit but it's not loose. Thanks!

  • Would you recommend highlighting your face even if you have oily skin?

  • I've been meaning to ask for this tutorial, it's so great you've done it! Thanks a lot Sarah! As always, it's beautiful.

  • I use naked pigment as highlight and it is really pretty on my skin which is like an NW20 or even lighter :-)

  • Oh, wow, this video was so helpful! Thank you a bunch!

  • I've only just noticed your tattoo...ah, it's gorgeous!

  • I love how you actually show us your methods and technique!! Most gurus go through a WHOLE look and barely touch on technique and don't go into detail! THANK YOU!

  • Please do a video on how to contour the nose properly!!!! I thought this video was VERY helpful! Thanks :D

  • very useful, thanks so much!!

  • Thank you!! I am so glad you did this video, I loved it.

  • I love how you put the point of the video in the description.

  • you are an awesome teacher!!:)

  • your skin!!!!!!!!!!!!!! looks so much better than the previous vidoes what have you done?

  • @melchewvin HA! Really??? It's still horrible - trust me lol. I've conceded to the fact that it's not going to clear up. So screw it lol. I used a LOT of tricks to conceal those pimples.

  • @SarahVictor you should do a tutorial on those tricks! that would be really helpful for a lot of people, teenagers especially . :)

  • Placement of blush has always been an issue for me, I have seen girls put it on the apples like you did..but color close to my nose like that brings out pores and it looks clownish...on me. My face already has some reddish tinges on the cheeks, so do I skip blush altogether?

  • @mom2grls72 I wouldn't skip blush all together BUT what I'd do is mess with the color you use. Instead of a pink blush try a peach blush. Peaches from MAC is a good blush for someone that has reddish tinges on the cheeks but without rosacea. If you have large pores, always go for a matt blush so it doesn't shine in the pores :)

  • hi sarah, i wanted to know whether the name of the highlighter, for the the NC40 and above skintone, is gold deposit loose or is it golden bronze loose???because i can't find any powder named that way on MAC websites!!!

  • Hi Sarah,,,very helpful and professional.. I loved it!! Congrats from Brazil. <3

  • Great explanation Sarah, this is a very helpful video.I like that a lot. Thanks for taking the time for us,i've enjoyed watching and i've learned. :) xxx

  • Sarah I have very prominent cheeks and if I do as you say in your tutorial I look unhealthy and skinny. Could you please do a tutorial for this issue? XXX

  • Sarah, how can I found out what my "NC" is?I never know what shade matches my skin. Thx :)

  • @88Rainbow88 NC means "Neutral Cool" = yellow/golden undertone. NW means "Neutral Warm" = salmon/pink undertone. If it helps -- I'M NW. Someone like Kim Kardashian is an NC :).

  • this is bery helpful! n ur soo funny lol

  • Amazing! Thanks for this easy to follow video! In 15 years of using makeup, I finally got my blush and contour right! Eek!

  • You are the best! I was so doing it wrong for years smh.

  • Thank you for this!! I've been doing make up for years and I still hadnt figured out to do this properly!

  • Thank you very much! I am terrible with blush/contouring - I always did the angled stroke and "guesstimated" where to put it. It was a new place every day ha ha. This was very helpful =).

  • really reallly good video :)

  • thumbs up for such an easy to understand explanation!

I totally stopped contouring b/c I thought it twas too much fuss but I was totally doing it WRONG!!!

  • what are your thoughts on really packing on blush? like people who put a lot of blush on for more contore to the point where its very very obvious that your wearing blush?

  • @dilkepyar86 LOL it's a sin.

  • love love love this vid !!! you are amazing and I really appreciate how you go into details, thanks so much !

  • Loved your contour video. Your video was really detailed and descriptive, and it made it so easy to follow. Thanks!!

  • I love your videos! Please do some Holloween looks.

  • Oh! Thank you!! I meant to write Prism and for some reason wrote Cubic.

Is there any real use for a C1 to use Tenderling? Maybe I'll ditch it. I'm definitely going to try out Sincere and Prism asap.

  • @RainbowGlitter Tenderling can be used on the apples!

  • Hey Sarah, is that MAC gold deposit loose, the same thing as their mineralized skin finish in gold deposit?

Because I can't seem to find that loose gold shimmer powder on the MAC website..

And I would really love to try it!

  • @isha566 i couldnt find it on the website either and wondering if the mac msf in gold deposit will work the same..

  • I have really high cheekbones, would they still connect to that part of my ear?

  • any tips for cream products to contour with as I have dry skin on my cheek areas? thanks, great tutorial

  • The eyeshadow "quarry" is also nice for contouring..

  • I have fairly prominent lower jaws, and I find that if I contour the way you beautifully demonstrated, they will look even more prominent at the expense of the mid section of my face which is narrower - do you have any contouring advice for that type of "situation"? :-)

  • Amazing !!!! The most helpful and complete ;) thumps up !!!!!!!!

  • amazing video!! and i do really wanna get pink swoon now :D

  • can't find the gold deposit loose on both mac and macpro websites. is it discontinued? thanks =)

  • I also love how you give options for different kinds if skintones!!

  • You are SO informative! You definitely know your stuff and I absolutely love how you break down all the steps and techniques for novice makeup fanatics like myself! Thank you! :)

  • Thank you for doing this...nice to see professional technique:)

  • best contour video! im wondering why i have never seen a video of you before. subscribed

  • Well done! Thanks!

  • great videos! love how informative and how easy you explain everything! xo

  • Adoroooooo seus vídeos..BeijosBrasil

  • I don't care what anybody says your videos are very informative. After watching each video I feel confident in being able to achieve what you showed us. If you don't like it move around. She is a makeup artist. A lot of makeup artists us MAC. If you feel like you can't relate, use what you have. She has never stated in any video that I have watched that you must purchased EXACTLY what she has. So don't be an idiot-watch your comments. If all else fails Youtube has provided a skip button, use it.

  • awesome, the fact that you left one cheek bare, really helped to show the benefits of contouring. The contoured cheek looked more lifted and pronounced. Really helpful video! Thanks

  • Sarah if I am a NC37-40 which contour should I use?

  • @CocoChococino The color is Format

  • Thank you Sara, this vid really helped me! I hope you will consider making a vid for eyeshadow brushes!

  • this was very helpful to me, thank you ;)

  • Ty! & u explain so well & clearly..

  • OMG thank u sooo much it was a big help! :)

  • This is the best contour video I have ever seen! Thank you! Quick question: I'm C1 and I recently got Tenderling. Would that work for contouring or would I be better off buying Cubic?

    Thanks Sarah!

  • @RainbowGlitter Tenderling and Cubic really aren't good contouring colors. They are to light and have way to much pink in them. Give Sincere or Prism a try for contour if you're C1.

  • I absolutely love your in depth tutorials. They're amazingly helpful and so easy to understand. I love it when people know what they're talking about. Keep it up! :)

  • Fantastic! This is hands down the best contouring tutorial on YT. I've watched so many, but none were as helpful as this one. Thanks so much.

  • Im as fair skinned as you are but i am not pinkish, nor yellow...i guess i am just white? lol(which is hard for me to find the right foundation shade). But i always have trouble contouring since i end up making it look unnatural compared to my neck or the tone is just too reddish for me,ugh! I also need the right tool.Your video is very useful.Tomorrow i'll practice with this. I hope it doesn't look like if i have a dirty spot on my face, lol! Tnxs a lot, Sarah. Your videos and skills are GREAT :)

  • @Kiruby82 BUILD up the colors is the key. Start off with a little and build up to the desired amount!

  • BEST contour tutorial ever! Thank you so muck Sarah!

  • An excellent tutorial, well done Sarah!

  • hi! i'm an italian girl..

i love the way you talk!!!

i can stay here hours listening to you!

    sorry for my worst english.

    kisses

  • Thank you!! You did what I actually do (you're jush a "little" bit better), I'm so glad now I know my contouring was right. I guess I will need mac or nyx Taupe to get a cold brown shade.

  • wow what a great video! very informative. thanks Sarah!

  • @slytherinheir16 hey Sarah, how do you feel about using "darker' liquid foundation as a contour. I know fellow Youtuber Kandee Johnson recommends this, but I'm not quite sure how much darker to get it than one's own skin tone.

  • Who doesn't like this video? I bet they've hit the wrong button...

  • I am not a fan of the 109 because I swear there are like ten hairs on my face whenever I use it. I have given up on that brush

I don't contour, but I still like your videos. You are a great make up teacher

  • @symmetricalastic That happened to me once, not with a mac brush. The first time I used my powder brush, it left big black hairs on my face. Before I left the house my sister was like "you gonna shave before you go?" I looked and saw like 10 hairs just sitting on my face :S

  • @symmetricalastic I've had that issue with my 109, too. I find that if I clean it once a week the hairs stop falling out. BUT I never do that lol. So I just bought two hahaha...ahhh damn.

  • Thank you so much this helps a lot I have a round face just wanted to have a more oval shaped face.

  • Excellent video! So refreshing to watch a tutorial that is informative, concise/to the point and entertaining!

  • Another AWESOME Sarah video...! Made me smile, as my favorite contour is Sculpt, my favorite highlighter is Soft & Gentle, and I have been lusting after a # 165 brush... Guess I am headed in the right direction! Thanks, Sarah!

  • Excellent video thanks a lot!!!!

  • You are amazing Sarah, don't ever stop making videos please!

  • Thank you for the wonderful tips!! i just need to find target products that will match mac :D

  • good video! Thanks!

  • Love it.

Afterall these years you're still my favorite guru of all time. Blessings.

  • Hi Sarah, I love your personality .. U seem like really great person and I love love love your work ! Keep it up ! :)

  • I love that you explained and showed us everything, thank you so much for sharing!

  • I loved this! thanks so much :)

  • Such great tips and a nice and thorough video. Amazing quality and a greatttt personality. The way you speak just makes your videos that much more interesting and fun to watch! Everything I look for in a guru :)

  • Great tutorial! you are amazing! thank you, loveRose

  • Cool! Now I know how to properly contour my cheeks! Thanks!

  • Ah-mazing!!! I love your teaching style. Keep up the awesome work!!!!

  • Awesome tips! That ear to corner of mouth answered some questions for me :)

  • Love it so helpfull (: THANKS (:

  • This was an awesome video! I had no idea that contouring made that much of a difference!! Thank you so much for these tips! :)

  • Awesome =)

  • I love how you break everything into simple steps! Gorgeous !

  • Sarah, GIRL, you made me go and find my 168.lol. Fab job... :-)

  • Aaah you seem like such a friendly person! I don't plan on contouring anything at the moment, but I kept watching because you are so friendly!

  • Awesome tutorial! I was always told to use the brush across but I will try the

    circular motion tomorrow! thanks

  • awesome tutorial,

  • People reference to MAC products because they are available to more people worldwide. It doesn't mean you have to use all MAC, all the time. Just get on Google and find dupe products. It's really simple.

  • What would you say is similar to Scupt in the MAC eyeshadows? Thank you in advance!

  • @Chilocolulu Hmmmmmmmmmm, I'd say Omega!

  • Best freaking contour video I've seen!!!! Adding this to my Favorites!!!

  • Best contour/highlight video of all time! You're the best! I even got some tips for myself in there! I always go so dramatic in my videos with contour, maybe I should slow down on the "sincere"... Lol!

  • Thank you so much for this Sarah. I'm NW40 and love to contour. I've never used a highlighter before but now I'm interested in trying one. Does the "shimmer' in them accentuate find lines? I'm 35 and wouldn't want anything drawing attention to lines.

  • You are such a wonderful teacher! I use one of my eyeshadows as a contour, it is the exact shade as sculp..I figured why not?

  • @LuvRachael Isn't that sort of a waste of product though? If one eyeshadow pan costs $11 and it's like the size of a quarter, and a blush like Sculpt costs $18 (guesstimate btw) then aren't you using a product that's much more expensive? I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just confused because if I'm wrong then I might start doing that since I can't get Sculpt. Thanks!

  • awesome video! Very informative ;) Thanks.

  • Wow Sarah I admire you . PEACE.

  • So, so, so helpful! Thank you!!

  • thaaanks! it really help mee...just like all of youur vids :) i was waiting for this tutorial! and btw you are amaaaaazing! don't worry about the hater comments

there are soo much people that looove u and looove your work. :)!

  • definitely helped! thank you

  • this was so helpful, i am going to try out your instructions, thank you!!!

  • How do you circle the bronzer with an angled brush??

  • Thank You! I usually use a 168, but it's a bit too chiseled. I will try my 109 tomorrow, since it didn't work for foundation, I need a use for it.. hahah

  • @TheJnervous Try the 168 as a foundation brush. It applies foundation incredibly! Buffs it right in to the skin :)

  • @SarahVictor Ooo I might have to try that tomorrow! Thanks!

  • The best contour/highlight tutorial I have seen. Keep it up :)

  • Sarah, I'm NC40, could I use my MAC matt bronze for contour? Or too dark? Also, what kind of blush would you recommend? I like dramatic blush :)

  • @mariblove Actually if you're an NC40, Matt Bronze would be fine for you. Go lightly though and build up :)

  • Sarah, you are a Master at contouring cheeks! I knew that even from the first time I saw any of your videos!

  • WOW! AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • You are the best!

  • What is your shade on foundation?? i was considering on getting the Soft and Gentle but i think it might be too dark for a highlight, i'm fair or light skin tone..

  • @tinkerlove15 I think I've heard her say she's NW15

  • @TheJnervous Thnx =D
