Chris Paul doesn't dunk a lot because he's smart. He's thinking about 10 years down the line, when his knees will be getting older.
Look at those players who are like 29-31, who used to dunk a lot in their younger days (VC springs to mind)- their knees are now shot, they can't get up anymore, and the rest of their game has been affected (quickness/ strength). They will also have shorter careers, because their bodies won't hold up for as long.
