  • すごぃ!

  • He is doingit for himself , I don't think this video is for us .

I am really surprise that he dod not try to see the video before to put it on you tube. .

  • I love it !

    Thanks , Sr.

    Blesses

    Zelia

  • i love that bag...i want one...lol

  • Neat

  • I would try this.

  • The most important parts to me are the one's you don't show on the video...the feet ..sewing is it a double stitch ...the handles ect....

  • @llxalxalxa This was the first tutorial I ever did,so somethings are lacking. There is no double stitch on this bag. To make the feet make holes put feet through and bend. The handles are sewn into the seam.

  • Super!

  • Dude!!

    YOUR AWESOME!

  • REALLY !?!? GREAT ! BEAUTIFUL ! I LIKE VERY MUCH ! <3 thank u :D

  • @Mandarynee Thanks!

  • It just seems so complicated. Thanks for sharing. I will subscribe and check out or other videos to get a better understanding.

  • This is a very nice bag. I have never sewn anything a day in my life. Would you consider this a beginners project?

  • @imohsoposh yes

  • cool, hey what did you use to harden the fabric to have its form, tnx

  • great tutorial i like the bag super cute

  • Holy crap!! What a fantastic bag. Totally damn pro-style!! Thank you for the tutorial!! <3

  • @AdiarraStormfury Thank you!

  • I love the bag but too many steps are skipped and a list of materials aren't given from the first video.

  • @KayShowers Actually all the parts are there. They have different names. You can also go here:knol.google.com/k/how-to-make-a-handbag-pattern#. At the time I posted this I wasn't allow to post very long videos, so I try to give as much as I could in a short time frame.

  • @manigaultgentile Thanks a bunch!! :)

  • Thanks for this master-class! So nice hand-bag! Сумочка супер!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheAndarta5 Thank you!

  • Great job!!

  • what do you use to cennect the parts bag? Do any special glue or sewing machine?

    THANKS

  • its amazing

  • i cant find Peltex or pellon here in holland!!

  • @Robbeeh Try looking for stabilizer.

  • @manigaultgentile THanks i will!! :D and another question haha.. do u have any ''how to'' video's about putting a zipper in a bag instead of a button??

  • @Robbeeh You need to make me your friend. Then I can send you a private message with the link to what you want to know.

  • Nice work! Your voice is clear and you go through all of the steps. The only improvements that I see that you could make is to not worry about saving camera time. In other words, you should include some of your sewing in the video, such as positioning and tacking the straps, using the awl to make the holes for the feet and attaching the lining. From one designer to another, we sometimes make assumptions that this is simple stuff that people will understand how to do.

  • @VeeShay1 My classes are normally 2-3 hours long. Can't post like that on youtube.

  • @VeeShay1 I saw after watching this video that your other videos supply more information with other details. You have them broken out separately, which I did not anticipate. I will look at your class info. Very, very cool! I wish you much success.

  • linda,amei esta bolsa!!!!!

  • @Manigaultgentile did you sew with sewing machine or by hand? Also what stitch did you sew with?

  • @babyyg9311 On a flatbed sewing machine.

  • looks so professional!;D love it!

  • what is used to make the sides harder?

  • @Robbeeh In the bag above I wanted the bag to be soft, I used Peltex or pellon 70. you can buy it at a fabric store.

  • @manigaultgentile Thnx for responding!! i made a bag myself yesterday haha havent finished it yet but it looks pretty good. i normally design fashion so it wasnt too hard as i thought it would be. thanks for your videos!!

  • @Robbeeh It's pretty easy, when you get the logic.

  • love it so inspired heart this!!

  • This is really good, you should start selling! Bet you will make a lot of money

  • It is beautiful :)

  • So... Pretty!!!!! -3 x3

  • Love the bag

  • Gorgeous bag! Wish I had the patients to create something like this :(

  • very good i like this !!

  • I made 1.It was pink and had hearts .thanks

  • @VIDEOSUBSCRIBER09 how did you like it?

  • ahhh-mazing!

  • Love this vid, thanks

  • that is realy cool it actually looks like a designer bag......... awsome job!!!!!! :)

  • what type of machine do you use?

  • @yluku808 home machine or my old industrial cylinder

  • I really enjoyed you tut, it was very informative. The question I have is...what is the best type of material to use when making a tote/carryall? And how can I make it durable and what is "interface"?

  • @lovinglife1101 The best material is the one you like. Put feet on it to protect the bottom and have fun. Interfacing is what you buy to add body and strength to your bag. Any fabric store has it.

  • @manigaultgentile thank you, I am attempting to sew for the first time....they say a tote is the easiest thing to make.....wish me luck :-). Thanks

  • cute bag

  • @songbirdsongstress25 Thanks!

  • this is amazing!

  • @mishday

Not really it's a very easy bag to make.

  • @manigaultgentile Don't take this the wrong wat because I am 'Bi' and don't mean to be rude or anything like that but are you 'Gay'? and I'm not saying that only 'Gay' men can do this because we all know that's not true..

  • @EmoCandyPop NO , I'm not gay, and contrary to belief there are a lot of men in the business who are not. I don't take it the wrong way. Most people who meet me would never think I design handbags. I didn't start doing this until I was 40-41, before that, well let's just say I'm a product of the streets of NYC, but just a little different.

  • @manigaultgentile did mean to cap that 'no'

  • Do you sell these bags, if so do you have your own site?

  • @jackassplus

No I don't I take them apart and throw away or my wife uses them.

  • Es precioso, te felicito. Muchas gracias por aportar un poco de tu conocimiento.

  • @Cielyf1 Thanks!

  • great job!

  • And did he put rubber cement on it before he sew the lining?

  • @justforfreegame Drop in lining just stitch it in.

  • Respond to this video... You can use rubber cement to keep it in place while sewing.

  • How did he sow the lining?

  • I love this bag,

  • THIS IS AN ANSWER TO A PRAYER!!! I'm a good seamstress but I my bags weren't quite right. This is exactly what I needed.

  • Excellent tutorial. Great voice too. Picture is not too clear and I would like to see you do a bit of the sewing. Rubber cement? Does it stick to itself after drying? Also, didn't know what the "window" is on the flap. What is it made of??

  • @jcsallen3 Not enough time on youtube to be sewing. Yes the glue sticks to it self plus it allows you to correct yourself without tearing up your work. A window is made from stay paper called Bontex.

  • You just saved me about 12k in courses :-)

I make purses but have not made any of the what I thought were the more difficult to execute ones, as these, especially with leathers and suede. [ Kept thinking I needed a serger and or other such complicated out of my price range gadgetry. Awesomeness indeed I am going to post a link on my page on FB and come check out your page there too.. Thank you once again these are amazing!

  • @procomicdiva Hope to see you over on FB. We do a live Q&A session every Saturday at 11am over there. Also got a student group over there too..facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_188912971152100&ap=1

  • @ruliruli1 rubber cement, make sure it's kinda thickish. Then it won't bleed.

  • I'm happy! I'm trying to inspire every women to be unique and do there own thing.

  • very chic! i am inspired to make my own purse now!

  • Very cute. Precision sewing. I need to order some "feet". You are so right. The feet definitely make a difference in the longevity of the bag. Thanks!!! (Love the bag)

    :-)

  • muy bonita.

  • Can you make a video for sewing the different parts of the bag? Please and thank you ^_^

  • @AZATTACK99

I think I do. If you look at all the video's on youtube, you will see the sewing sequence of the zebra bag.

You can also visit my knol, /knol.google.com/k/how-to-make-a-handbag-pattern# there you will find the video's and the written instructions!

  • Very cute, but way too small for average women.

  • @Greatersend

That's why we show you how to make the pattern. So that you can make the perfect bag and size for you.

  • ohhh n one quick question... how did u sew the lining???? (i m kinda new to this)

=) n THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH this vid is amazing <3

  • @ThArApHy3nS

it's called a drop in lining. After you have made your lining you"drop it in" and topstitch.

  • Respond to this video... Thanks glad you like them.

  • OMG u r AMAZING, soooooooooo subscribing to u =)

no more shopping for bags, i m making them =P

Yea Canadians can attend,Visit Howtomakeadesignerhandbag

  • i am not made at you! that is hot!

  • If i want to make this bad with a zipper and not a flap, what step would i put in the zipper?

  • @deliciouslyvicious1

It depends on how you want the zipper, if you want it straight accross the top then you would make a window stay and attach it. If you wanted the zipper all the way around then you would place the zipper in your gusset.

  • @manigaultgentile what kind of material are you using for your gusset?

  • @deliciouslyvicious1

The dusset is made from a paper and covered with material.

  • @manigaultgentile thank you very much, im new at sewing and this is helping me alot. It's very informative.

  • I love it! What a great gift! Thank you so much! Your a natural!

  • @Bieberbaby211

    Thanks!

  • Sir,

Where do you but the leather??

    Thanks.

Do you have a F.B. page??

I thought I saw it but was not sure

  • @ugha323a

Hi I buy my leather from Barbarossa Leather. They are located in Florida. They have a great website and there leather is top quality. I've been doing business with them for years. Here is there contact number 561-204-1980.

Tell them you got the number from me!:)

Yes I have a FB page. Howtomakeadesignerhandbag

  • what kind of glue do you use?

  • @oohalosangeloo

    rubber cement

  • thanks for sharing this video... i think everyone can make their own bag out of little cost, not necessary to spend big bucks for branded stuff though... really appreciate your kindness of sharing this video... :D i want to make one for myself too ^^

  • I am loving your videos. Thanx

  • that bag is so beautiful do you have a business?

  • @bokesters Just teaching on the internet. The bags my wife gets or I break them apart and make new handbags. One day soon I may sell my samples.

  • there's a lot of kind pellon which one are you using and which one can you use for clothes?

    hope for your good reply

  • @imeldificris

I'm using a very stiff one. It depends on how much body you want your handbag to have. I think it's a 90, I'm not sure. I wanted the bag to hold it's shape. Not hold it but not be floppy. What I will do is get back to you with the weight I used for this bag, I need to check.

I don't do clothes, but I would suspect it's very light. You want it to give a light fabric body, but you wouldn't want it to alter the flow of the fabric.

  • @manigaultgentile

It's called Peltex 70 made by Pellon

  • @manigaultgentile

    Thanks

  • omg..it's grate :((((( I want it!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @tzuky4geo

    Thanks glad you like it!

  • Your wife is sooooo lucky!

You know when you top stitch the lining, can you do that with any regular sewing machine since your sewing over the straps??

  • @Ase0esA

Yes you can use a regular machine. It depends on what type of fabric and how thick.

  • I love it thanks for shareing i want to try to make it - better yet make me one lol JK Great JOB

  • @briceidalithsee

Thanks ,but believe it or not I don't sell bags. I just design them, make them and give them to my wife.

  • I love it thanks for shareing i want to try to make it

  • what glue did you use I tried rubber cement and it was a cluey mess, your wife mentioned spray glue??

  • Please stand so we can see, and what is a gusset Please keep what your doing in the screen. You guys are great and I am learning a great deal.

    God bless

  • @anniecatable Gussets allow the bag to expand.

  • Thank you so much. I just finished mine and it turned out great. I volunteer at a thrift store and when we get bags in that are beyond repair, I save the handles and all the hardware. I was able to repurpose many items on this bag. Thank you again

  • @SasukeVamp

It depends on what type of machine you have some machines you can buy a guide that will keep the material sewing straight. That's what some factory use.

Try using your finger as a guide, simple find where you want the stitch to go. Take your finger and butt the fabric or material against your finger. Guide the material against your finger, never move it and sew.

Other then that practice and getting to know your machine.

  • damn you freakin good at that stuff....omgoshh in going to school to be a fashion designer you should show me some skills....please

  • @breezy47luv That's what I'm here for to learn.

  • Great videos "very interesting"

1.When using "stay" Is that a certain kind of paper or is that a term used that just stabalizes the fabric?

    2. Also when gluing the "stay" to the fabric , are you using the rubber cement for that part or a craft glue or something other than the rubber cement used on the outer edges?

  • @cynthwarr7 No, a stay is like a guide, It means"stay here" I want this fabric to stay here. You apply rubber cement which is different then paper cement. If you are using rubber cement it will not blend through fabric in most cases. Stays are made from paper or stabilizer. Once you understand how they are used. In most case you will used them to turn the material over for a clean edge or finish.

  • @manigaultgentile Thanks. I already figured it out and used it. I bought some Pellon Decor bond. Thanks for the information...

  • very nice

  • @roshell01

    thanks!

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh so nice!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The bag turned out to look very cute and professional but it looked complicated to me. Do you have patterns that are for free or for a small fee? I would not be able to make the pattern but I would like to try and make the purse.

  • @booyaree

If you can draw and sew you can make a pattern! I learned! I was 40 odd years old so I know you can do it!

Try! The tutorial to learn basic pattern making is free,

If you go ahead and try! Well that could be priceless!

  • The purse turned out to look very cute and professional but it looked complicated to make me. Do you have patterns that are for free or for a small fee? I would not be able to make the pattern but I would like to try and make the purse.
