This thing is awesome. I used it for everything. Drum machine, synth, vocals, turntables, (yes!! turntables) But my les pauls sounds awesome on the slicer. So glad I bought it.
What do you mean? It doesn't sound to me like they are avoiding the analog mode. Perhaps you meant you'd have liked shorter delays? Yeah, I guess they wanted to point out that it can have very long delay times even when simulating analog delay... they should have shown shorter delays as well though. Otherwise, it sure is a pretty dark type, even for analog.
As for the modulation... personally I haven't used "normal" delay ever since I discovered modulated delay. :)
That's for sure, it's all a matter of taste. Actually my own conception of the best delay is the Deluxe Memory Man :) I was just trying to understand what you think is missing in those demos of the analog mode. It does seem to produce the "warmer type analog sounds" to me — it even sounds especially dark, which is nice if you already have an analog delay that sounds brighter (like the DMM). Perhaps you're missing a demonstration with shorter delay time, is that it?

Isn't he using 2 SL-20's in this demo? Is one being used for the drum machine???

that dd 7 is awesome
im gonna get that for digital delay use my space echo for analog delay and my Dl 4 for sound effects and looping

if you watch the video on rolands sight this guy shows a tap solo thing on the harmonic slice funtion and its sounds very nice

and yes the dd-7 is out in the U.S. i saw it at guitar center, tried it out, AND BOUGHT IT.

the sl-20 seems like it would be more used in tecno music and mabey even some prog. seems cool though

live=rythm guitarists could find a ton of applications

It's kind of obvious the demonstrator is trying to avoid the analog questions.
Also in the Boss demo elswere he only demo's wierd unusable "analog" sounds.
He immediatly switches to the "hold" function.
What we'd like to know i think, is: wil it produce the warmer type analog sounds for the ordinary mortal guitarist.
The modulated sound seems fantastic!

Don't get me wrong, for the money it's a steal ofcourse!
We will never know if it suits our taste untill we tried it ourselves ;-)
I've been looking at the TC Nova delay untill this one appeared.
The Nova has a nice analog mode which i like.
But ofcourse it's a bit more expensive.
Then again it's cheaper than the T-Rex Replica (which i think is the best delay available!)
Tap-tempo is a must here!

Yep, i guess so, i'm curious about the more functional settings for me rather than extreme settings.

You're right, they should've demonstrated that too...
(By the way, what really sold me on that pedal is the 40-sec sampler! :) The Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai seems cool too, though)
