@DemonAMVs People who think that speeding alone is dangerous need to educate themselves though. High speeds are not that dangerous. Provided the car is up to scratch and the driver is in control. The German still have unrestricted roads meaning no speed limits. They also happen to be some of the safest and least crash prone roads in the world. The problem is down to idiots. I was flying along the motorway the other day perfectly fine happy in control. Then the idiot in the next lane had an idea.

@yonumpty Firstly German roads that are unrestricted are very wide and well maintained, the people that speed where I live and try to kill me are usually doing so on 2 lane roads with oncoming traffic while the road itself has a lot of bends and isn't very well maintained. There is a difference between breaking the speed limit where its set and using well maintained roads with unrestricted speed limits.

@DemonAMVs Have you ever driven in Germany? A lot of their unrestricted roads are actually only 2 lanes well 4 lanes wide if you include oncoming as well. Nearer cities they grow like most places to 10+ lanes. They aren't really any better maintained than most other countries motorways either. Just purely down to better lane discipline etc. They are basically just more observant when driving. Makes it much easier.

I was doing the limit, but I was still in the wrong because he wanted to be in that lane. The problem is most people have no lane discipline. The Germans do for the most part, so you can fly along at 100+mph without issues. Because they aren't fucking idiots when driving. Unlike most people I find.

Most places where kids play are limited to 20mph or less. That is different from a high speed motorway where we see cameras as well and where those speeds are the norm. Because no pedestrians are allowed. Yet people still moan because people speed there.

Most people don't go through areas where kids are in the street at 140kmh as you have wrote previous. 70kmh and getting an impact it doesn't even need to be a hard one to knock a car off course. The speeding driver could have done that only a few KM faster. Getting a shunt from a metal object is going to cause an issue. My point is going quickly on it's own is not a problem. If other drivers were aware of it and adjusted.

And even if they impacted there would not have been so much force to push them through the barrier. The barrier was designed to stop a car but at the speeds he hit them even that could not stop them. The TVR on the other hand will give you a very exciting high-performance ride for a lower price than your average boring family hatchback.

Sure you might argue about TVR's reliability... but to be fair, it's far more likely the veyron will run out of fuel long before the TVR breaks down.

The whole point being these guys are trying to see if any affordable cars that everyday average people might actually own can go fast enough to avoid the speed cameras. Saying 'just bring the veyron' is daft because nobody has a veyron - and if they did they probably wouldn't want to risk crashing it. The TVR on the other hand is both affordable and fast enough - hence why they used that car.
