@Franzenstein1 actually there not candles there lights i noticed because when they came out of the water they blinked on and the fire wasnt moving around like for example when you blow on a candle they move in a direction and then goes off those didnt

@themeandmymusic They were candles. The way they did it was with a special wick that ignites on contact with air. Unfortunately, all these were one use only and they had to do that entire section in one take.

I am so disappointed by the movie. It has not the atmosphere of the stage production. The only good thing on it is the chandelier at the beginning.

I wish Tim Burton or Baz Luhrman had directed the movie instead Mr Schumacher.

Seems totally pants and superficial compared to the stage musical, souless. And neither of them, particularly Gerard Butler is vocally as strong as even an understudy on stage...Oh well.
