the only reason he can't get normal notes from the theramin and just weird noises is because the theramin is IN A PAIR OF FUCKING ANTLERS :) haha. They're normally mathematically perfectly, inside a pair of antlers isn't the ideal place for a traditional and note perfect/accurate theramin All hail Trey Antipasta, Les and Stewart.

@grooveunit2 I am all for improv .....I love a great jam on any tune but there is no excuse for this. His playing is shit every time he plays this tune. If he wants to take the song to a new atmosphere then do it right! How can you deny the dry and awkward tone and sloppy playing? I think your too big a Trey fan to let up. Also wouldnt you be intrested in hearing him pull off this song live? its an incredible tune.

He's making the noise with the pedal and waving his hand over it. I saw them at Bonnaroo 06, and he was stroking the antlers. Several people were saying how awesome his guitar was that he could play the antlers. Cracked me up.

You can read a little about the "matterhorn" on wikipedia. It's got a theremin in the antlers and was made with a dremel by a friend. He does seem a little off with his slide though.

I just rewatched and realized he was off on his slide because he was screwing the with theremin a little too long into the chorus and had his settings all screwed up when he put his slide on.

i've had the best guitarest i know questioning my sanity because of trey and his antler guitar on this song. we still dont the answer. i've had almost the same sounds with a normal electric and a marshall stack but his amp was all whacked out and i think it was on accident.
