Oh yes. She was the greatest exponent of Spanish keyboard music: her disc of Falla's Nights is considered the benchmark. Her Albeniz Iberia Suite, and Granados Goyescas are as idiomatic as you're ever gonna get.

This tiny woman could do anything.Listen t her line and the sound she gets from the piano. Never harsh always a treasure . No work was too mighty of big for her small hands .Wow! Busoni,Brahms 2,rach 3 she did it all and her Mozart had a grace,pallor few have achieved. she makes Arrau seem deficient. Only Novaes had her own charm .

The gardens from this video are from Alhambra Palace- Granada , one of my favorite places.And the melody is soft and charming to embrace the soul and take it to places still unfamiliar...I truly enjoy De Falla's music.I am relieved to see that there are people who can enjoy true music.

Funny, I just had a random urge to listen to the piece, ortherwise it's no particular favorite - compared to say, the first two Villa-Lobos concertos and Choros No. 11, the Busoni, or the Foulds Dynamic Triptych. This is really exquisite, I certainly haven't heard a performance - and I was just listening to Rubenstein - approaching it.

I saw her play this piece with the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra in 1996. Great performance and she is missed by thousands.

God, I love this music! Dame Alicia was on of the last links to a glorious tradition of great pianists and provided me with many memorable experiences in the concert hall and on recordings; the understanding and style she brought to Spanish music was extraordinary.
