  • germany's better

  • Norway is model for countries to follow, almost the best in everything.

  • I just love the germanic countries The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland... They are all very similar and beautifull in my eyes

  • @TheMuppet89 Takk for det. Sverige har också fin natur

  • storsve123, I have been to Norway, many places in this video - on music performing tour. Nydelig!

    Jeg elsker Norway.

    Tusen Takk, penny

  • You're very welcome :)

I'm English but have a strong desire to live in northern Norway one day. I've visited Tromsø twice, a super-fine city.

  • Some of the "basic" norwegian :

My name is - Jeg heter

    I live in - Jeg bor i

    I`m .. years old - Jeg er .. år

My best friend is... - Min bestevenn er...

I love you - Jeg elsker deg

    Thank you - Tusen takk

    Where is ...? - Hvor er ...?

What time is it ? - Hvor mye er klokka ? :)

  • Some of the trickier Norwegian comes from our compound nouns, as in German. Car is "bil" and seat is "sete" but "car seat" is "bilsete", in one word.

Which leads to words that can be challenging for foreigners to pronounce. Menneskerettighetsorganisasjoner for example...

  • agree

  • i love norway....i wish i can go there someday.....hello to you my dear NORWEGIAN FRIEND, DANIEL ARNTZEN, jeg elsker deg....

  • i am from norway

    sorry for bad english :D

  • nice video;

first time I was going with the costal express (hurtigrute) I was the ONLY passenger onboard that wasn't seasick :-D

  • Love Norway

    5 stars

  • my dreamtripp

  • mine too (sigh...)

  • this is a dream. norway is beautiful.! i was here 1995, ..96, ..97,..98,..99,..00,..01,..03, ..08. the next follow. hurtigroute is great. sorry my english. it is a dream, ever and ever.

  • please teach me how to speak norsk.....jeg elsker deg.....

  • Norway ranked as the highest livingstandard country, and best developed country in the world by UN year after year after year. Keep up the good job Norway :)

  • hm if im not wrong we came in second last time...

  • yea, but that was iceland, and they are bankrupt now, so Norway is still the best country

  • On the HDI we've been beaten a couple times in the last decade, first by Ireland (!) and then Iceland. Both of which were much harder hit by the financial crises than Norway.

We're doing well, but we shouldn't bang our chests too much because of it - we were basically lucky and got territory that included a LOT of oil, long before anyone exploited oil anywhere (so we didn't have to fight for it). On the other hand we've used the opportunity relatively well and built a good society.

  • I don't know where you got your information from, but we are most certainly not drowning in immigrants. Under 10% of the population are immigrants. In fact, I think it is as low as 3%. Last time I checked, that wasn't drowning! It only seems like a lot of immigrants because they are constantly in the medias focus...

  • I agree. Compared to other countries we really don't have a lot of immigrants! According to the Norwegian bureau of statistics 9,7% of the pop are imms or descendants, and the largest minority groups are Poles, Swedes, Iraqis and Danes. That put things in perspective, right? I think people feel that we are "drowning" in imms cause they gather in small areas like Grønland and Groruddalen in Oslo. In fact, 25% of Oslo's pop are imms or descendants of imms.

  • yeah we are drowning in immigrants... sad but true..

  • Norway is ranked #12 in the world for immigration per capita, doesn't sound like the best country in the world... (rolling eyes)

And don't get me started on most beautiful country...there are tons of countries in the world that are more beautiful, sorry, but that's just a plain fact.

  • z08y - I feel that I have to apologise for my younger compatriots. Modesty has ceased to

be a virtue here, unfortunately. Virtues went

the way of the SATS scores, down the hole.

What's left is a big lip.

  • Exactly my thoughts, they sound how Americans talk all the time and don't we all hate them for that, this extereme ignorance. Norway is a beautiful country, but there are so many, the list is endless, also in America you have places that knock people off their socks, seriously...take for example the Niagara Falls, The Grand Canyon, Monument Valley even the small American island of Kauai (people should look it up with Google images) will have people's jaw falling on the ground.

  • Niagara falls is in Canada.

  • Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some may think Norway the most beautiful country in the world. Many seem to think it one of the most beautiful. Compared to almost all of europe it undoubtedly offers a lot of wilderness and untouched nature, whether or not you find that beautiful.

  • No offence but I dont think any cares that you don't like Norway.

  • come on. don't we have a video of hurtigruten that's not from 1983,, kom igjen

  • it is a beautiful but it aint the richest

  • No, not the richest - that would be luxembourg, unless you count the vatican. Still, gross national product per capita is roughtly twice of in the US, at exchange rate. Since Norway is also very expensive it's quite a bit lower on PPP. Also, since we are relatively few many things cost more - we have less economy of scale in infrastructure, for example. Still, it is definitely one of the world's richest countries.

  • agreed but london is the most expensive city in the world with the cost of things are so high!

  • The Economist, Aug 22nd, 2007: "Oslo remains the world's most expensive city to live in, according to the latest Worldwide Cost of Living survey. It is now more costly to live in London and Paris than in Tokyo, which was unseated from the top spot in last year's survey."

  • lol, U.S is

  • if you look at the BNP list and take the norwegian BNP and devide on the population, you got the BNP per person and norway has the highest number. (BNP = penger i omløp i landet).

  • ok i didnt quite understand the last bit lol

  • He means GNP, Gross National Product, or possibly GDP, Gross Domestic Product - the two are similar. "Penger i omløp i landet" means "money circulating in the country". You can find all the details on wikipedia.

  • Hey! What's that music at the beginning? I've heard a variation of it, but it was on a computer program called "The Third Dimension".

  • Im saving for a cruise of the fjords at the moment, mine will go through Geiranger, and stops in Tromso then heads back. They look really beutiful on film, cant wait to go!

  • At 4:11......I can't get my eyes off that woman........she looks as if she's Ethiopian or Somalian.

  • Haha... OK.. And? ;)

  • She is beautiful.

So are Nordic blondes ....... so are many women in general.......

  • Couldn't agree more...

  • lol she's cute

  • Reklame for hurtigruta, eller?

  • ahh its good to be Norwegian ;P

  • C'est dommage il manque Geirenger

  • True, true... :) This voyage is closer to the coastline! Geiranger is by far the most beautiful place in Norway!I'm sorry I don't answer you in French! I can't write, nor read it! ;)
