nice lizard. I would want a teju too. But i live in a to small apartment and im a student so i cant afford it. But later on i would like a cat or two a bearded dragon and a teju:)
What a wonderful thing to happen to a roach -- of any spot or stripe! (I hold similar feelings toward the mouse, the rat and, of course, the hamster.)
really this is his first roach he looks like a pro and took it like a champ good job joe, hes lookin good, make an update on these guys, they prob got bigger.
u think a white tegu for $150 would be worth it? i saw in a pet store i was gunna get a sulcata tortoise from (and i still am) the owner is rly nice and lets me hold them and i held his female yerold about 2 ft and it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool
When you feed your Lizards crickets have you ever wonderd how all that mass of say 7 or 8 big crickets gets worked down their throat and through there stomache? Especialy if its a smaller lizard like a medium sized Alligator Lizard.
the lizard kills the roach. its just a big roach in comparison so takes a bit longer. they gave the lizard a fresh moulted one so its softer. this means it actually takes longer to kill because it doesnt go CRUNCH !
what do you mean ? its just a roach. i have a really old giant hisser and i wouldn't feed her. unless you had a real emotional attachment to a particular cockroach it really doesn't matter. hard to become attached when you have thousands anyway XD
Whoops didn't mean to delete your comment. No, they should be actively eating right out of the shell. Something is not right with yours. It is possible it wants to go into hibernation though. If that's the case then it's perfectly normal.
Dubia's are actually pretty soft bodied. They have a higher meat than shell ratio so they arn't that tough. This was Faden's first roach so I think he just wasn't wuite sure how to handle it.
hmmm...that explains the crunchiness. either you dusted that one extremely well or don't dust my well enough. I usually only feed off nymphs though, maybe the calcium doesn't stick as well.
he needs ketchup

My B&W is about the exact same size. What would you recommend his diet be for the duration of his adolecence?

meatloaf505 2 years ago
Yes it will be extremely beneficial. Just use appropriate sized ones for your Bearded.

Besides friendleness and size the Tegus seam very similar to alligator lizards including appearence.
Killerspider762 3 years ago
Which Genus/species are you talking about? There are 3 different Genus that have species with the common name Alligator lizard.
jerseytimebomb 2 years ago
I would be refferring to the Southern Alligator Lizard species native to california. Lizards rule. Have you ever kept an Alligator Lizard as a pet?
Killerspider762 2 years ago
No I have not.

You should the wings of the insects cause the tegu may choke why do you think it takes a while for the lizard to completely eat the roach!
