i am using the artscrole chumash. if you want an accurate translation you cannot use the king James version. anyway if you are fammiliar with the hebrew language of the bible you will see that Penuel is written diffrently in the same paragraph .. first its written peniel which means peni - el " my face [is towards ] God and than a line or two down its called Penuel which is Penu El which is turn [plural] to God.. if it meant to say face of God it would have to say penei el .

The false Jews today will tell you that the Hebrew term "Almah" refers to any, any young girl. But according to Torah, all those Jews are lying and they probably know they are lying to you straight faced. The Torah only uses Almah as a Sign of God's Covenant in Genesis 24 and it is used to denote Rebecca as a relative of Abraham, a completely virgin , and an eligible girl to be Isaac's wife. All those criteria count ,and not one can be left out, so Almah does not mean just any young girl.

So when the Prophet Isaiah uses this term "Almah" as giving a sign from God, then it must be understood that the Prophet is referring to how Moses used this term "Almah" in connection to Abraham's Covenant with God.

Again About the Suffering part. yes God knows which human will go to heaven & which will not. So he may schedule to make some people suffer in this SHORT WORLD , but take them straight to heaven right at the judgment day.yet he might make some one very rich in this world,& without any pain,but take full revenge on him after death.

I bet I would disagree with Brown on many things, but this is one of the most brilliantly argued points I've seen made in a religious debate. Many religious leaders are afraid of treading on one anothers' dogma, and it was really refreshing to see Brown actually present his beliefs honestly.

Actually, Pope Urban II only called for a crusade in 1095 after numerous incursions into Europe by Muslim soldiers.
There were many accounts of attacks on Christian chapels and pilgrimage sites, ones that are documented to include the rape of Christian women, the forced circumcision of men, as well as the pouring of the blood from said circumcisions on Chapel Alters.

The destiny of christ was to be a sacrifice for his people. It was god who sent christ to be crucified as a gift, sin offering, gilt offering for all the people of god. So as michael brown says, it is complete ludicrice to blame and hate anyone for the death of christ. So by adopting this belief, you may as well hate god himslef while you're at it for sending jesus to be crucified. Instead we should be gratefull and joyfull that a sacrifce was made for us so we could be forgiven and blessed.

My bible names the section "Jacob Wrestles With God", and it also says the following in Genesis 32;30 "So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, 'It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared' ". Peniel translated as: face of God. Thank you.

i am using the artscrole chumash. if you want an accurate translation you cannot use the king James version. anyway if you are fammiliar with the hebrew language of the bible you will see that Penuel is written diffrently in the same paragraph .. first its written peniel which means peni - el " my face [is towards ] God and than a line or two down its called Penuel which is Penu El which is turn [plural] to God.. if it meant to say face of God it would have to say penei el .

I admit though that I made a mistake .. the literal word was not angel as i said earlier but rather "Ish" which means man. The fact that it was an angel is derived from the fact that he begged jacob to let him go because the sun was coming up the time when all angels sing to God .. all the commentaries agree that it refers to an angel on a godly mission and not God himself .. that would be sacrilegious

I couldn't find a copy of the artscrole chumash online that I could read, but I did find chumash bereishit. In there it states that the one he wrestles with is the guardian angel of Esau, and that the angel is unable to give Jacob his name because the name will change with each new mission he's give. So it's like 3 different versions of the same story. However, I can't claim that it's impossible for God to choose to be a man because now me the creation is defining my creator.

Peshat - which is the plain meaning Remez - alluded meaning (reading between the lines). Traditionally, remez referred to methods such as gematria (word-number values)
Drash: drawn out meaning. Homiletical or interpretative meaning. Not pshat.
Sod: (lit. secret). The mystical or esoteric meaning.

Never in the Tanakh, or OT, are the "Seven Noahide laws" explicitly laid out.
Unlike the 10 commandments, which are very clearly grouped together, the "7 laws" are drawn from several separate verses, and don't seem to have any theological link to each other, besides being commands from God.
Yes, it's clear that these were laws laid down for man before the establishment of a covenant between God and Israel. But nowhere is it written that following these laws will grant entrance to paradise.
