When a black child is missing the only way you will know is if you live in that neighborhood or hear it from someone else. Maybe if the black community would get together and write letters/ send pictures to the news, blogs, talk shows, pay for billboards, put pressure on the police and post it all over other neighborhoods besides the one they live in, they would get more media coverage.
