This is an awesome entry. I have had this tune for a while....its probably one of my favorite things you have played. Your album Let it Out is absolutely fantastic. This entry is so original....and true to your impressively funky,and melodic playing. I have found a lot of players in this competition are good players but sooo many of them sound like they are pushing to sound like greg. this is by far my favorite entry =)

it's not arabian.. sounds like, but it's very BALKANIAN..

we inherited a lot from arab world but our sound HAS it's OWN feel..

It's more than just one scale, you have D Phrygian Dominant,

and than the same thing but with Major 6th interval, B instead of Bb. I guess it has its own name, not sure. :)

Cubase SX3, Addictive Drums, Trilogy for bass, Atmosphere for pads and Darbuka for percussion,

that's what I used for this very BT.

Sometimes I use other daws as well, Logic, ProTools etc.

it is used to mute open strings and unwanted noise

and not notes in or "out" certain key.

It was a joke gone wrong. haha  But seriously.... lol is the reason why you us your hair band for muting out notes that don't fit in the key your playing in? I play Jazz mostly in the key of C and G. I don't mean to sound stupid or anything.

ya the hair band or string dampner or muter is used to keep out unwanted noise done by tiny mistakes or reverb from the amp its used a lot with people who tap or use a lot of pull offs or hammer ons . but as you can see the last tapping lick is rly why im guessing he chose to use it , i personally find it a little like cheating but sa'll good i know how hard it is to tap a lot without those little mess ups. anyways keep up the great playing !

I believe it's kind of a mix of Balkan and Middle Eastern music,I mean the beginning section.Note choice is probably Balkan but there are drums and percussion which

surely aren't from Balkan by the origin.
