I played this before but got really frustrated. I played 3 and 4 which I loved, but then they shocked us with this one. I think I'll try to play it again.
it would worked much better that it was only a middle of the game when Ryu and others get out of underground..
the gameplay itself is ok.. but on battle mode it's nice that you have that "combo meter" and you can do damage.. but it would've been lot nicer if there were some combos too that were worth of using something that regular attacks.. most of the battles were that Ryu's combo meter full then go next to the boss and do only LV1 attacks..
yes i know i did praise the BOF Quarters.. but now that i beat'd the game i can honestly say that this doesn't deserve to be called BOF.. Dragon Quarters isn't exactly sucking badly.. i mean the gameplay is great and there's also somewhat challenge and great graphics too.. but the environment where the story basis is BAD... also there isn't much secrets or twist that keeps you interested.. and the game is too damn short..
I really did think myself that this is REALLY shitty game.. but when i looked more of it.. like batlle mode and so on.. i really want to give it a try..
This game destroyed the series, if you like it...good for you. My opinion is that it sucks...but the fact, the die hard FACT is that THIS GAME destroyed the Breath of Fire series. SIMPLY BECAUSE NOBODY LIKED IT...well, except for a small amount of people.

@AsGSnak hey tell me if you beat it with 0 tries. I read that the people who created the game designed it so that you would somehow HAVE to restart it. but if you go with zero retries I think that's amazing and I want to congradulate you.
Well at first look the game does look dull and i'm a breath of fire fan..... I just bought it though finally having second thought after all this time. Seriously, is it really worth getting?
in my opinion yes. Though it is different from the other BOFs . i thought the story was solid, the fighting was good (with no random encounters) . Have an open mind and give this one a chance.
@solidsnake86sting I agree. I think alot of people didn't like it just because the didn't have the patience to play it, but once you get the hang of it it's an amazing game, I've beat it twice already and never get tired of playing.
The ratio DOES NOTHING! ...that is all.

It's still one of my fav games ever.. even tho the quality isn't top anymore, it's still awesome <3

indeed unique battling system.. almost like in Grandia but little bit more advanced.. you really have to think what to do before doing it =)
not to mention music and the CHALLENGE!! =D
