Josh when use my heat press the auto release seems to cause wrinkles in my product is this a drawback to the auto realease feature? I overcome this by keeping my hand on the handle and not allowing it to pop up on its own.

This particular brand of presses usually last 10+ years. For maintenance, pretty much just clean the heater with a non abrasive soap every few months.
