Christ's commandments were that we love one another and do good to them that curse us. If you understood Christianity, you'd know that Christ did away with the old ways to provide salvation for the world. Also, the old testament specifies a target group. There is no open ended commandment to kill disbelievers.

"until they feel themsleves subdued and willingly pay the tax" has no association with any verses about learning to read and write. Christ's commandments were that we love one another and do good to them that curse us. If you understood Christianity, you'd know that Christ did away with the old ways to provide salvation for the world. Also, the old testament specifies a target group. Riddah [apostasy] is mentioned many times in the Quran and the hadeeth gave a hadd for riddah. So its the opposite, Allah commanded Muslims to judge the actions and speech of the people and to make correct judgment on them if they became kaafir. Your understanding opens the floodgates for all muslims to become kuffar.
