  • i had this done today... they poked me once, no blood, and then they started moving the needle around in my arm and i got really squeamish... i told her to just remove it and try a different vein, she did, and then she ended up getting it on the second try, but it hurt a lot more the second time :( and now my arm is all bruised from their poking and prodding...

  • you can always say, "stop", or "get someone else"

  • @ldleold yes. i realize that. thank you.

  • (>[s]_[X])>. ..oa, super surgical with it,, I promise getting cut up will not heartz a single iota-bit,,

  • I'm ok with needles, i was always brave but pretty upset when they stopped giving me stickers.. no one is too old for stickers.

  • ughh!! this happened to me the other day. they couldnt get anything from me! but i still got HUGE bruise! lol

  • OMG! Look at 1:21 - NEVER let go of the butterfly needle while in the vein. Can't believe this was posted. Not a good teaching video, unless you're showing what NOT to do. . . .

  • @ukidinme2010 you can let go of the butterfly that is its purpose of use over a straight... I should know I'm a certified phlebotomy technician...

  • I love Lou Reed.

    I am Reid Baer

It is difficult for nurses to find my veins.

  • That so sucks....I have only had um do it to me a couple of times and that was just because the person did not know what the hell they were doing....Perfectly appropriate tunage for the video....peace....Oh, and Micheal needs his TV head back on cause his coolness is waning by the day without your brilliant background magic.....Peace...

  • You'd do terribly at intravenous drug use. :D

Good post though, you captured that weird feeling that runs through my body when I had blood taken. :)

  • For some reason I can handle seeing an ambutated limb far easier than watching a blood draw. I would make a lousy phlebotomist.

  • Watching this, I can just feel it! (to get my green card I had to get my blood drawn by some embassy-appointed doctor in the middle of antwerp's red light district and after 3x he managed to poke right through the other side of the vain) (> random fact)

  • GAHH!! bastards!

  • you've captured an experience with a real point of view - real i felt

  • Oh goodness.

Seeing blood being drawn still makes me nauseous.

Appropriate song, with the imagery and what not.

  • Urgh! I don't like seeing small sharp things being poked into people's body. I even faint when I get my piercings. Pathetic but true. I get all weak when I see needles.

  • i am sorry, i know it's disturbing. its a video i felt i needed to post cos well, its something i deal with in my life and its part of a bigger picture of me...perhaps i should've added a disclaimer, or cautioned viewers. sorry again!! XOXOX

  • That's okay! I totally get what you are trying to express through this video. I think it's a great video just that it makes one abit queasy. And I hope everything is going well with your health. Love. :)

  • yeah ! :D

  • At least we can see you do have some blood in you. Your not proned to sharing it very easy. That's all.

I watched it all though. I give blood all the time to the Red Cross. They love me.

Thanks for the video. Love you!

  • thanks for not running away! LOVE2UTOO ♥

  • I couldn't watch this. Sorry. Just ... can't.

  • no problem, but it does have a happy ending :-)

  • "I just want to say hello (again),

to somebody I used to know,

she's the prettiest girl in the world,

and I love her so .."

    Maybe this is why.

  • You got heart kiddo! I'd say more like an artichoke.

  • artichoke... that's what i get when i can't paint.

    thx joe ♥

  • HAHAHA. so witty M!

  • hahaha, nice one!

  • They have a hard time getting blood because your heart has stolen it all, that is why it is so big and loving, and about to explode! hm? Anyway, I was trying to say you have a big heart and... well, sorry you had to go through that. Are you feeling ok? Sending love to you.

  • oh i'm feeling fine honey, this footage was from awhile ago. i have a morbid sense of entertainment sometimes i knnow. thank you for the LOVE ♥

  • OOOH!!!! I can't watch, sorry. Hubby has the same problem. They butcher him trying to get blood.

  • I can totally sympathise. I've had the same thing with a half dozen attempts across both arms. It gets odd when they start digging around in there with the needle. Eventually they gave up with the vacuum tubes and just used a normal syringe.

  • uh huh, it sucks. thanks for commiserating my dear ♥ hugs

  • I am quite squeamish - I can't watch needles going in skin. But I can appreciate that filming it would make it easier!

  • don't blame you. sorry for being shocking. i still love you :-) ...only now, slightly less! ha, j/k...

  • Ouch.... and nice tune...

  • I donated blood awhilr back and they refused to let me record it.

  • sigh...I totally empathize, I just went through all of this with my recent multiple surgical procedures.

I was in an ICU in '83 for 9 weeks and ever since then my veins are quite tricky. I was so relieved that the surgical nurse I had this time was the same each procedure and she knew how to strike the first time every time.

I totally understand that mounting feeling of apprehension as they approach getting ready...the good ones I make sure I tell them how great they are at what they do.

  • honey i KNOW YOU understand. my heart goes out to you and all my love and positive energy too!

what does not kill us will only make us stronger, and more pissed off!! lol. j/k.

  • yikes..

    im petrified of needles..

    great vid though..

    Proshka

  • thank you beauty ♥

  • oh i hate that. they did it to me once. stuck me once no go and then again. needlephobia.

  • pussy!! ha, just kiddin' ya!

  • pussy!! ha, not kidding!

  • aha seriously.

  • I am the opposite. I'm a bleeder. I donate blood regularly and I pump it out in record time. I'm not sure that is such a good thing. I hope your gallbladder is OK along with the rest of you.

  • my gb is fantastic! cos its GONE! lol.

next time i need to give blood, i'm taking you with me you little goldmine you ♥

  • Wow.

Good to see with how much care and love that lady did it.

Very nice vid... yes, still a nice vid.

    <3

  • ♥ hi pupp thx!

  • i used to put spikes into my veins, made me feel like i'm man!!no not really, the red blood mixing as it fills the needle is a beautiful site, even if your not a junkie,or taking blood!

  • yes there was a time long ago, before i had the injury that put me in a wheelchair that i would have agreed with you. *cough* nowadays i just don't look.

  • it's harsh alright, hope you look froward often though man.

  • yay! 3 tries..!!

i have big veins. and i wanted to donate blood...but...canada won't let me because i lived in germany 11 years ago and therefore am a mad-cow risk.

  • now THAT is an interesting little factoid about our girl zane! who knew.

  • i feel so much less alone now...they have to do the same thing to me...use that tube thing to get any blood...and it always takes several tries...and i have to get blood drawn a lot...

    xxxxxxx

  • girlfriend tell me about it. effin' sucks! I know!

  • ahhhh. i dont like it!!!

  • sorry :(

  • hehe. its cause i dont like needles xD. someone always has to hold my hand!!

  • yowzers.

    turnips are underrated.

    Great tunage :)

  • I let out a sigh when they struck gold.

  • yeah, me too! xox

  • oh, I passed out once when they made multiple attempts taking blood. I'm glad it went well.
