  • that is a lot of woman

  • Jerry tried to do these sexy screwball comedies as he grew older in the mid 60s. His audience decreased. In the 70s Jerry was trying to clean up the movies industry. Strange huh? His theater chain didn't work out well.

Jerry was a crazy kid and then a crazy man on film. This stuff ended it. He should have stayed funny.

  • Why, Jerry Lewis was quite handsome!

  • This was such a fun, silly movie.

  • This clip is fascinating in its awfulness! So kitsch. It's films like this that killed the traditional Hollywood studio system in the 60s. I love the cheap, shabby set. Connie Stevens's emotional range never seemed to stray beyond "perky" and "chirpy". Anita Ekberg almost unrecognisable with dark hair.

  • @bitter69uk Yes ... Connie Stevens on tv private-eye show Hawaii Five O played, per its promo, "that cute little chick called Cricket" ... chirpy and featherheadedly harmless. Yet in that character (singing to a handsome male character "Kookie" played by Edd Byrnes in a rival private eye show 77 Sunset Strip) she and he had in America a charttopping hit-single 45 rpm record duet, she singing comic plaintively to him, "Kookie, Kookie, lend me your comb" (to seduce him from his mirror) ...

  • @bitter69uk (cont.) ... as he narcissistically perfects his vintage-1950s combover in the mirror) that ends happily with her success, with her last pitch "I want you to stop combing your hair and ... kiss me," to which he turns and says (the from there iconic line), "Baby, you're the ginchiest!" The Catholic Legion of Decency banned such P.I. shows, as graphically depicting reckless serial kissing.

  • I remember this movie, I thought it was good when I was a kid, but then it had Connie Stevens and Anita Ekberg. I think it even had Ernest T Bass in it!

  • @klmullins65 Almost! Yes, it had a character named "Shmidlap" who was portrayed by Howard Morris.

Morris also played Ernest T Bass, so ...you are right!

  • @Mulsanne917andkink , yes, thats what I meant, Howard Morris...and Dennis Weaver was his partner, if I remember correctly.

  • ONE OF THESE DAYS, ANITA.....BANG ZOOM....TO THE MOON ANITA!!!

  • Anita makes Debbie look like a teenage boy.

  • @stargate121

That is Connie Stevens as Jerry's wife.

  • I love the way women once looked!

  • v

    best comment ever below me

    bravo!!!!!

  • This was during that period when you could walk into a studio tycoon's office, interrupt his acid trip and ask for millions to make a movie. A non-slapstick Jerry Lewis movie on the moon? Sure. Jerry Lewis as the head a Nazi fighting organization? Hell, yeah! Tony Randall in a house under the ocean? Why not?

  • @msspurlock

    LOL!

  • i think eileen is played by paris hilton, no?

  • Saw this movie when I was young and I loved it then and still do. I am trying to find this movie but no luck so far. It is really a funny movie.

  • Sheesh. I thought this movie was boring when I was just a kid. My opinion hasn't changed

  • Notice the fine optics of the Questar Telescope?

Anita Ekberg is of course also so fine!

    -Mark

  • When will this movie make it to DVD??

Would love to see clips with Schmidlap (Howard Morris), Igor (Dick Shawn) and Gen. Howling Bull (Brian Keith). "You moron, you damn idiot! Don't you think I ain't got anything better to do than call up the moon every 5 minutes!"

  • jerry and connie the great team couple LOL

  • Connie Stevens lol, she looks like a little girl compared to Anita Ekberg . I would have had the same expression Jerry had if Anita got that close to me i would have been stiff as a board lol. Anita the biggest set of Hooters in all Hollywood past, present or future she was the Best.

  • I would agree Connie looked more like a "little girl"--clearly younger than Anita Ekberg anyway. :D

Anita was gorgeous, no doubt, and is completely so here...but she is also what I would call a "Euro-babe" too...so she's not quite my style.

Ursala Andress was of the same sort: Certainly gorgeous, and nothing but feminine, but also not quite my style.

I WILL retract my comment "everything A man could hope for" (since it clearly applies only to men like me and not to you).

    We just disagree.

  • Not a problem ,you don't have to retract anything... every man has their own favorite type of woman,I liked C.S too but you can't put her in the same class as Ekberg,Mansfield, and Loren and Welsh.

  • This was one of my favorite films as a kid (and I love it as an adult to this day too).

Connie Stevens was everything a man could hope for back then too. A real "babe."

"Schmidlap" (Dick Morris) absolutely cracks me up. As does "that fool Indian" falling off his horse again (Brian Keith sequence)"....

  • Happy Birthday Anita Ekberg :)

  • Dear Dude,

What do you mean send wife "Eileen"(Ms.Stevens)

    to the moon?

     They're already on the moon?!

  • I would guess this would be a reference to Jackie Gleason's "Pow! To the moon, Alice" threat....

  • They don't make like that anymore.

    Heja Sverige

  • jerry isnt no jackie gleason. If it was jackie, he wuda sent her st8 to the moon.

  • this scene is written like a tv sitcom. jerry should have done one as his movie career was on the wane. he could have ruled the airwaves.
