I always considered this to be progressive house. This and original version of Nostalgia, Paolo Mojo's 1983 (original) and everything Roman Rai makes. That said, it's similar to progressive trance and can be easily mixed, but I consider this to be more house-y due to it leaning towards funky side of spectrum whereas modern trance leans towards bittersweet, sad and, in case of tech-trance, techy side of spectrum.

check out pete herbert's "yo drums," pryda's "rakfunk," fred falke's "love theme," hott 22's "make up your mind," and jaytech's "pepe's garden." i think they share some common elements with wisternoff's track.
