i dont think anything is wrong with Lauryn Hill. i feel that once she decided the music industry was changing her for the worst,she had to do alot of introspection within herself.Once you become closer with God,people will find a way to tear your image down. So he feels something is wrong with her, thats how brainwashed the music industry is. Lauryn Hill is different and since she is, people like Wyclef thinks shes bi-polar.

if its bipolar or some other serious mental illness they have to act fast...cause the more you leave it untreated, the more it becomes harder to rehabilitate the person...if this is true, its very serious. theres nothing wrong with mental illness and im not sure why ppl are offended at his statements, seriously, you would be surprised at the number of ppl with mental illness - especially in the creative industry - its VERY common.

Look 'i think wyclef was being a true friend by actually wanting her to get better not just letting her keep going the way she was just to make $. You see a lot of other bands who will go as far as keeping a band member supplied w/ drugs to keep them working. & honsestly wyclef is not the 1st person who has worked w/ her to say this about her infact he said it the nicest & seemed genuine. I think some of you are overreacting. I am glad he made it plain. He did not seem to have malice in his voice. He was just speaking conclusively, no we do not have to wonder if the rumors are true. She can rebound, God willing. Check out Sinead O'Conner... she suffered the same way is better now.

I can't believe he just put her business out there like that but, I saw her perform two years ago and it was clear that something was wrong with her. She was not the Lauryn Hill from the 90s. At first I thought it was drugs, but some kinda of mental imbalance would explain it as well...she needs help. its true! wow, i just came across this thread and can not believe what's being said! have you people lost your minds? Lauren Hill is fine. Perfectly fine. Wyclef is simply one of those men that can not handle a strong, wise and talented woman. He will do anything to tarnish her image. I had a boyfriend like that once. And believe me its a power struggle. Lauren is a powerful, spritual,intelligent and artistic woman. Thats a challenge for some men.

@TheOnlyRealist It is a very poorly kept secret that Lauryn is going through some serious issues & has been quite unstable for some years now. any1 who has seen her in concert latley can attest to that. I don't know how you can blame him for her being this way when we clearly know nothing about what triggered it. He says he wants her to get help & I believe his motivations in saying that are honorable. Talib Kweli even wrote a song called Miss Hill talking about how she has changed

It's hard to speak the truth to someone who can't handle it. I'd be upset (at hear age) if someone told me I was nuts. Having mental issues is not easy to hear when you are in the state. I wasn't right but it's better then her running into cars and photographers. She needs a strong hand to point her in the right direction. It would be a trival or petty thing to go on a reality show to further make her look worse than what. I'm sure it's coming but it all goes back to who you let into your life for support and a firm conversation of reality. I'd rather go to Oprah (the preacher) at least she would off help.

I like the unplugged set, I just think people wanted her to be phony and hollywood and she kept it real with how she was feeling and people couldn't handle it.. She was speaking of spirituality and her personal demons, doesn't make her crazy!
