  • fake

  • HI! Is that la jolla california? how much does a kayak like that cost?

  • have you ever tipped the kayak trying to bring in one of your bigger catches ?

if so, have you ever damaged your electronics doing so ?

thanks for the video... something i have always wanted to get into, cheers

  • beginnerflyfisherman,

The answer is no & no to both questions. However I have gone thru 5 FF and currently on my 6 FF since 2002. Cause for damage FF is water getting inside the unit after months of use salt water splash and during wash downs. It pays to buy insurance for electronics they replace damaged unit no questions asked.

  • @jceviche WoW that's quite a few FF'DR's!! I"m up in Maine, But This year I went to Florida and tried some flats fishing. It was AWESOME the Capt. a friend of mine only had me pay for half the gas!! I've never caught so many diff. fish. Red fish, black drum, Snook, Tarpon, Trout, (Gag and Goliath grouper my favs.) and Cobia! I noticed Yaks on the flats so I rented one. What a blast and I caught a ton of fish! I just outfitted my own fishing Yak! I hope to only have to buy one FF!!!

  • yeah men !!!!!!

    best regards!

  • old man & the sea, thats what Im talkin about, ceviches the man!

  • dang that could feed me for months

  • Hey Johnny, great stuff man--Dat's Hella Pinoy. What do you think will happen to the La Jolla kelp if they make the whole place a preserve? Will we lose it or what?

  • 1004w12,

I can only hope that they would leave LJ the way it is. Otherwise the sport fishing industry will be impacted seriously and loose a lot of business.

  • PatrioT884,

I'm glad you like my videos. Your best chance in landing one of those beast is in March although they are around as early as Jan and Feb. Just send me an email when ever your heading this way and I will take you to the fishing ground. I got the kayak and fishing gears to do the job. All you need is show up.

    Cheers,

    Johnny Ceviche

  • Johnny, straight up, you CANT appreciate fishing, untill you've battled a fish at least twice your weight!!! You need to get your ass DEEP SEA BROTHA!!! I'd LOVE a video of you battling a Blue Marlin or White Shark!!!! DO IT BROTHA!!!

  • filmekemal sunan

  • Great video as always.Hey can you tell us about the cam. you use.Thanks.

  • alnorito,

It's a Sony DCR-HC96 minicam with external helmet cam attached.

    johnny ceviche

  • Goddman Johnny, take it easy, you're killing off the fish population!! lol...great job man!

  • wow. Thanks!!! I hadnt thought of that..the birds and where the baits are at. Like I said, I'm a beginner..haha but I just learned a lot more today. What type of bait or rigs do you recommend?

  • I use live mackerel pinned thru the nose with 2/0 Gorilla hook, 40 pound florocarbon leader on 30 lb line lfy lined (no sinker)

    johnnyceviche

  • In La Jolla where I fish I can be at the fishing grounds in 15 minutes about 3/4 mile distance. The water depth could be 70 to 180 feet is the usual hang out for bait fish and preditors alike.

FYI when I go fishing I don't go by depth or distance but rather I look for where the baits are hanging out, look for action in the water and look for birds activities.

    Tight lines,

    johnnycevich

  • GREAT GREAT VIDEO! All of them! lolI had a quick question: I'm new to all kayak fishing and I wanted to know..how far out do you go, and at what depth do you usually fish?

  • johnny you're my idol where do you fish i might be up next to you

i started kayak fishing two years ago and i cant stop.

  • I'm located in San Diego, Ca. Let me know if you ever drift my way I'll be glad to take you out fishing. That applies to all.

    jceviche

  • great pics. keep those videos comin.

  • And all I got was rock cods after peddling 2 miles out. In Santa Cruz, yeah we see them BIG sea bass in and around the kelp... but they're skiddish and don't bite. Living south, ie San Diego, has its perks. I watch this vid in ENVY.

  • Try using some live mackerel or squid and see if you can get them to bite. remember the bigger the bait the better. Good luck
