  • @FitchNo925 I don't think they cost that much originally.

  • its fake ???

  • All the clocks in my high school looked like that. I don't think I want to carry one around on my wrist.

  • I would like a review on a Bell and Ross pls

  • Nice review, but I just hate Base Panerai [to be honest all of the ones that use a cheap 6497 movement], specially since the movement is a cheap $150 movement on a cheap 316L steel case... A Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver is a much better option for the price and a better looker.

Panerai is overrated... not to mention overpriced... the 114 is NOT worth the money they're asking for. Just my honest opinion.

  • In that case you'll have to condemn the majority of Swiss brands.

  • While I agree all Luxury brands grossly overprice their watches, Panerai has to be the worst, for the price of this ghastly looking 114 you can get a Speedmaster Pro which has a bulletproof movement inside which is not only better than the 6497 in performance, it also looks better... but you do have a point. lol

I guess we all have the choice to buy it or not, heaven knows I love purchasing watches, but Panerai is so.... ugh....

  • I'm completely in agreement with regard to Panerai. Besides that, I don't like the style, but to each their own. The Speedy is a great watch at any price, and I'm definitely going to get hold of one some day soon.

  • Panerai 1950 8 days, is simply amazing. I would love to get that beauty. but at 15-25K that they are asking for it. I just can't afford it. It is a beauty. It is in your face, macho watch.

If you can't afford that one, get seiko black monster or Baume Mercier Capeland S. Not bad, especially considering the price

  • @Cujucuyo

Yeah, the more gold the better right. Thats what the arab cab drivers in my country seems to think also :-) They would love the ulysse nardin... its got an ankor and waves on the dial, and lots of other nice nuggets, yet its second value drops like a stone, good choice.

Pams are perhaps the brand that does best regarding second hand value... so stop trusting your personal opinion, its bad. Just my honest statement of facts.

  • @lego7817

Who mentioned anything about Gold? Furthermore, what's wrong with the dial? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and you clearly have no taste, it's a Diver/Marine Chronometer, it goes with the theme, it's a sports watch not a dress watch.

Go ahead and pay $4,000 for a POS that uses a base 6497 with slight modification, go on, be one of the morons who go into the Base PAM fad; While Panerai makes some wonderful in-house movements their 6497 based watches are way overpriced.

  • You should review a Bell & Ross BR-3 or BR1 they are both very nice or maybe a Graham

  • Currently I can't afford penerai box also. But some day I will buy this one!

  • good; only flaw here is that it's a genuine panerai!

  • good

  • Thanks for the review. Just bought my first mechanical Swiss watch recently.

  • Finally a pam reviewd by you :) Great looking watch and sweet review!Even the basic models look really good and you gotta love the mechanical ones with the unitas movement ^^ Proud owner of 2 models and waiting for my new marina militare to arrive -_* (ebay will either make this the best summer of my life or will give me a heart attack :P )
