  • All I know is that I listened to this through the 'Mysterious Broadcast' and in dead money, it's the only music station.

It scared the living SHIT out of me.

  • Anyone complaining about this DLC clearly forgot that the entire point of the DLC was to tell you that you can't always get what you want, and you have to suck it up and "let go". That's why most of the NPCs in the DLC got fucked over; they got greedy. Also if you think this game is frustrating, try playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and then come see me about frustrating.

  • *Enacts Jedi mod and goes on a killing spree*

  • For some reason...I love older music like this...even before they are/were put in these games.

  • I didn't get much into the story since I had low ammo sugar bombs and bomb collar on my neck I just wanted the gold and get the hell out of there

  • i like the story of dead money but i don't like the gameplay

  • @tunaman1250 Agreed. Worrying about the cloud and the bomb collar was more frustrating than fun. Also, having no base to go back to to store your stuff and rest sucked. And then not being able to take barely anything back to the Mojave because you can't return to the Sierra Madre.... extremely disappointing.

  • Creepy

  • That was one of my favorite DLCs while i have this song to my PC and....well the thing is about 2 years now i am in bad mood..yes 2 years and still not healed....and this song makes me fucking crying at nights....but also reminds me to who i was before i turn into that cold hearted evil boring negative man..........

  • Bethesda released the sheet music for this song on their blog today. Pretty cool :)

  • Man, Dead Money got really, really heartbreakingly sad near the end when you find out more about Sinclair and Vera. Especially when you hear that Vera Hologram in the suits. Damn man.

  • @Pancoar Yeah it did, especially since Sinclair wanted everything to be perfect.. you kind of feel bad for him and Vera in a way. Sure Vera was a bitch just wanting the money, but Sinclair built everything for her, then wanted to kill her.. then finally wanted to save her from the impending Nuclear Holocaust. Sad story overall...

  • @mafiabrett Vera didnt just want the money, Domino wanted the money, vera loved Sinclair and didnt wnt him to know that she was dying a slow painful death and dean used her "Addiction" to Med-x to blackmail her.

  • @yosaputa Ah your right, my bad.. forgot about those final few tapes/notes from Domino. That does make it sound alot more sad for Vera's side of the story, however I still feel worse for Sinclair.

Pssh look at us talking.. acting like Vera and Sinclair are real people XD haha thats the result of a good backstory to a amazing DLC

  • @mafiabrett Yeah, that DLC had an amazing backstory, that and honest hearts were my favorite backstories, honest hearts and Lonesome road were my favorite add ons for stuff, Cause i like my .45 and lonesome road had some bitchen stuff, but i stil say dead money has a special place in my heart... Too bad i cant go back -Troll face-

  • what i dont get is why people say dead money was bad. it was a new feel to fallout. This is a really good story creepy yet fun gameplay. Trust between the player and other 3 is needed or you will die unlike any other dlc in nv or 3

  • @Rogerthecowthing u have a point it was diffternt but all the annoying things in dead money killed it for me and must people they can make something like it the futer but better

  • i wrote "let go and begin again" on my desk at school

  • @tunaman1250 rebel

  • Why do people reference "Dubstep" crap duirng a song like this?

  • This song sounds so sad, it really fits Vera's story

  • @sciencemile That's not how value works nor does that have anything to do with greed. The player wouldn't be punished for his "greed" in that case at all.

  • Anyone else think Christine Royce would be singing this during those lonely nights in the Sierra Madre, since she now has Vera's voice?

  • and despair-filled manor.

  • Setting all opinions aside, I believe the most haunting thought is the one Xxscoop brought to my attention. The song does describe the Fallout story in a beautiful

  • This needs to be on ITunes. The only song that has any true meaning isn't even on ITunes. It's a shame.

  • i thought it was a beautiful song and veras story sound like alot of showgirls who commited suicide rather than face ww1 and 2

  • @thewinterroselives The sad and ironic thing was, she was killed by the very security designed to protect her.

  • Just finished the Dead Money dlc, didn't really enjoy it at all.

  • @OffWIthTheRain Man i though Dead Money was a Bitch The Ghost People + Poisonous Cloud plus the Radios that you have to destroy some are Shielded. Place was a Bitch had to save every 20 feet!

  • Wow...I cannot seem to find this song anywhere for download. Anybody have a clue where I could get it?

  • @Margate1989 Google : Youtube to mp3

  • It's possible to sneak out with all the gold without glitching, but I don't think it cheats the message; the whole game and trapping Elijah in the vault expresses that pretty well.

If they wanted the message to apply to the gold, they probably should have hid the value, and when you get out you realize that all that heavy stuff you tried to sneak out is completely worthless; what use does anybody in Post-Apocalyptia have for a bunch of metal bricks? There are cheaper paperweights.

  • @sciencemile gold will always have value cause its hard to get now, it would be even harder in an apocalyptic world

  • @LaynesAddiction Unless they would find a way to easily replicated it 100%, then there could be a mass production of it. But yes, in the fallout world this seems to not have happened.

  • lol i glitched to get every bit of gold out and All my things too. I will not let go of greed like dobbs

in the real 1948 Treasure of the Sierra Madre.

  • The singer, Stephanie DeBrule, mentioned this video. She had it linked on Google+ :)

  • Youtube repeat this Amazing song. Put on a digital fireplace youtube repeat that, set the fireplaces volume lower, relax and enjoy...

  • i remember i first tried many ways to get out with it then i had to drop it and run i soooo did not want to leave the gold but it was the gold or my life and i like how its all about greed and says leaving there is the hardest part and the hole story and the world and the madre created for 1 girl and all that got me so attached to it i never been this emotionaly attached to fallout since the first time i played fallout 3. thank you bethesda

  • imo this was one of the best dlcs in the whole game. this and old world blues.

  • @Tufticles I know! all the 12 year old saying its hard and you cant get all the gold. Thats the point, letting go of greed.

  • @toatahu32 were all nations so easy to start up?

  • I Love how this song describes fallout: The nuclear apocalypse was actually more of a blessing than a curse as it gave mankind a second chance, a chance to let go of their hostilities with one another and "begin again"

  • @Xxscoop Well other than the fact the wasteland was filled with raiders, murder, sickness and poverty not to mention the NCR who wants to bring back the old ways and the Legion who are really just people who kill and have an un-realistic goal

  • this song kicks ass

  • This song is haunting me.....

  • Totally needs a tutorial - I'd really want to play it on piano. :3

  • This song brought a tear to my eye it's my favourite fallout song

  • this song....makes me mad

  • Hello courier...you may not know me,but i know you. For years you have ruthlessly murdered innocent killers for your own amusement and financial gain. Well now it is your turn to make a fortune for yourself, only to have it taken away from you. You have 24 hours to break into the casino with the rest of your group, steal the treasure, and get out alive. Live or die...make your choice...

  • @MyRedHulk 5 quests later.... Fuck off bitch im taking this for myself!

  • Awesome

  • This was actually sung by an art intern. Crazy huh?

  • Beautiful song, beautiful game.

  • Such a moody song--broken promises, broken dreams, broken world. Only the shadows of things and holotapes/holograms of people long dead remain.

  • why didnt they just use this song and make the dead money trailer around this instead?

  • This song is what made dead money so Eerie. I think that the shrieks of the ghost people and this song playing, is just a combination of creepy. And it's fitting because it's kind of quiet and relaxing. If the sierra madre wasnt so screwed up, I think it would be relaxing too.

  • I don't know about everyone else, but this song coupled with the atmosphere of the Sierre Madre was REALLY alike to Silent Hill. But not in a bad way! The feel of the environment, shrouded under a never-ending cloud of poisonous gas, and the only inhabitants, besides your enemies, are a handful of deranged individuals. The connection is uncanny.

  • @TangibleNought Dead Money was the best DLC in my opinion. The atmosphere and characters were brilliant and it was absolutely terriying seeing the swarms of ghost people rushing to me when i activated the Gala.

  • @WeAreToxicGaming : She (Stephanie Debrule) is also the girlfriend of the composer of the song....Justin Bell.

    Dm

  • @Detman101 Uhhh... That's not exactly true.

  • @Detman101 Actually, I am the fiance of the writer of the song, Mikey Dowling. But you were close.

  • @MsSplendidSteph : OMG!! Thank you so much for replying! I can't believe it's you! This is the closest I've come to meeting anyone in the gaming industry.

Wow. Awesome work on the song, your voice is lovely.

    Congrats on the engagement!

    =]

    Dm

  • @Detman101 Thank you, and thank you! :)

  • @MsSplendidSteph well tell your husband that he did an amazing job with the song and i thank him for it

  • @MsSplendidSteph Thanks to all of you for what you brought us fans, here.

The game itself is amazing, but the music makes it even more spectacular. :)

Thanks, again, to you and your husband, and all the others.

  • about 30000 of this videos views were me.

  • First time I remember hearing this song was after I got Roxie and had to do them tests in the fake high school at the X8 facility. Roxie drew her last cyberdog breath defending me against robots and cyberdogs. I ran through that high school with the proton axe annihilating the enemies that killed my dog while this song played. It was emotional and epic though I admit I was drunk while playing.

  • It sounds like someone who's love had to leave then

  • Not only does this song creep me out, but it sounds like either she's just killed herself or is inspiring others to kill themselves. Every time this song comes on when my son is playing this game, I SHUDDER and cover my ears.

  • @GreekPsyche3 I guarantee you... This some is not about killing yourself!!!!!!!! So PLEASE, do not by any means take it that way.

  • i would have something here saying i pressed the replay button a lot but instead i just put this one song on a play list and hit auto play:D

  • i wish my courier would say this so ulysses, begin again, but know when to let go. it would just be like the most kick ass line for new vegas i feel

  • @harrased007 God yes! The whole Ulysses thing bummed me out so much.... Worse even than Dad from Fallout 3 the poor bastard!

  • @Laochra thank you, im glad i wasn't the only one dude

  • I remember this song playing when Doctor Borous was explaining and starting to regret about what he did to Gabe...

  • Comment removed

  • Don't know about the rest of you, but this song creeps the crap out of me when it comes on the Old World Blues broadcast. Really eerie

  • @CapnKirkus I really do enjoy this song a lot though when it comes on.

  • I loved Dead Money, but one thing that annoyed me is how you couldn't say much about it to Veronica. I mean, you could give her Elijah's note, but you can't tell her anything about Christine. I mean the first thing I tried to do when I beat DM was try to tell Veronica that I found her girlfriend...

  • @MrSage700 I know, right?

  • @MrSage700

The reason why is the Courier doesn't realise the link between Christine and Veronica. The player does but the Courier can't put the two together.

  • This is technically the theme song of the game because think about it, "Begin again." The Courier got a second chance to begin again. ;)

  • So haunting. I love it. This song would have been best set in Dead Money. Probably the best song in the game.

  • @TonyPeesTunes The song WAS in Dead Money, in the Sierra Madre lobby.

If anything, its even more haunting, as you can hear the song echo throughout the aged, empty casino. Always sends chills down my spine when I hear it in there. Truly beautiful piece of work.

  • @TehGamersGarage Ah, I wonder why I didn't notice that. I don't see how I could have missed it. It really is a great piece on it's own, but set against the imagery in the game, its brilliant.

  • @TonyPeesTunes Go ahead and give Dead Money another run though, if only to have the experience of listening to the song in its original chilling state.

Besides, Dead Money is awesome enough to warrant another walkthrough, ain't it?

  • @TehGamersGarage Oh yeah, I'm totally going to run through it all again after Lonesome Road... need to keep myself busy until the next Fallout installment.. whenever that is going to be. It's going to feel like forever.

  • @TonyPeesTunes the song is FROM dead money the girl who sings it you learn all about her in the dead money dlc the siera madre was built for her

  • It's so simple and yet it tears your heart out. It gets stuck in your head and you don't want it to leave.

Reminds me of Julee Cruise's Floating Into the Night, made famous by Twin Peaks, especially The World Spins and Questions in a World of Blue from the Fire Walk with Me soundtrack.

  • Elijah U Fuckin Asshole!

  • They so should have made a musical saw solo in there, nice nice song though...

  • this song is haunting me

  • Thumbs up if you've signed up for Fallout Online BETA! xD

  • You know what I've always wondered? What if you took a song like this (since it is relatively new and completely original) and put it on the radio in real life. Could it maybe bring back all the old songs we love listening to in Fallout back?

  • @mike3mra If it were possible, i would love to start a project like that!

  • @mike3mra no, imagine hearing this while you drive. You'd have an existential crisis on the highway.

  • @fatazzwhale Good point... in that case then something original like this song but with more pep in its step like a song by Frank Sinatra.

  • @mike3mra Nope, can't have that today. People for the oddest reason want to listen to musicless base with generic lyrics that are sung my talentless diva who only know how to dress like freaks.

  • @ChancellorRW Well think of Rock n' Roll back in the 50s- it wasn't mainstream in 1954 when it first got seriously noticed but it got there eventually by 1958/1959.

  • @mike3mra No.Don't be a fagot.

  • Best song I've heard on a video game. I always like to listen to it when I'm just wandering the Wasteland.

  • It would be cool if they created new music for future Fallout, games. No song has ever touched me quit so deeply

  • So...did anyone else get teary eyed when they heard Vera's goodbye once Dead Money was beaten ?

  • @Doomy23 i seriously did then as soon as i left i turned on the mysterious broadcast and on came begin again...

  • @Doomy23 i must be gay

  • @Jaikeify What does that have to do with anything ?

  • You're my best friend forever!

  • I realized that the jazz music in the old world blues dlc was actually this music! And I loved the seire madre but it was kinda hard to leave but I also hope that they make a DLC that let's you keep playing like in fallout 3. :V

  • @SDFRENZY2 Oh dear god, they are never going to release anything that will let you play after the main quest line. People don't seem to realize how impossible that would be to implement.

  • Throughout the whole shitfest, I realized that een though I said I hated the DLC so much, I've realized that it was my favourite. It's hard letting go of the Sierra Madre. :(

  • I'm so glad I played through this add-on. I can hardly wait to see the Lonesome Road DLC will add, in terms of story.

When I left the Sierra Madre, I left part of myself with it.

  • Let go.

  • You can hear parts of this in the Dead Money ambience.

  • Comment removed

  • In all honesty I couldn't wait to get the fuck out of the Sierra Madre, but looking back, it was a very special experience.

  • Such a beautiful song... very sad, haunting...

  • This song makes me wanna cry ;( I LOVE THIS SONG!! Nice job! :D

  • when will this song be available for download/streaming? i need it in so many ways!

  • @Raktskjutarn Download Free YouTube to mp3 converter (Google it), and then copy/paste the URL of this video into the program, wait for it to finish downloading and there you go! It's basically a YouTube video converter but only capturing the sound!

  • I sure did love dead money but the fact that you don't get any of your equitment back got really annoying which just adds to the fact that you could'nt go back.

  • Did anyone else have a hard time letting go and leaving the sierra Madre? I sure did. Even though the ghost people sucked I would like to go back.

  • @estabanamikearugi I know, they should have made it so we could return, but with our own weapons and stuff, or just gamble at the casino the whole time. I know after the main quest of the DLC, you can just go back into the casino.

  • I love this song -33333

  • We need to raise the likes on this vidio so this may come very much more popular

  • can you please upload this to a file sharing website in mp3? cos i really want this song

  • @toxin9

    Check your PM here please

  • I found this track so fitting while exploring the Big Empty and working on gadgets and such in the Sink :P

  • Want to discover some new details about Vera's fate? Check Nexus for "Dead Money Deans Blackmail holo fix" mod. Sad story, buried under bugs

Or search for "FalloutNV_Dead Money BlackMail fixed bug" here, on youtube.

  • @delamer3

She died of Drug Overdose, I SAW IT. THEN I TOOK HER STUFF AND THEN TRAPPED THAT OLDFAG IN THE VAULT.

  • There's only one road left...

  • Someones probably got that name... point is "The Lonesome Road" DLC is going to make this one look like a kindergadern project, and Dead Money is probably one of my favorite DLC's with the story line nd suspenseful ending concerning the story completeing DLC yet to come.

  • This song moved me so deeply. I would stand in the Sierra Madre lobby and listen to the echoes of this song sung by a woman who has long since gone... her ghostly and beautiful voice still singing in a place that almost no one would ever hear again... I'm touched by the Dead Money DLC story and saddened by the fate of Vera Keyes who I wish I could've have gotten to know personally.

  • @DarkMetalOmega They play this song occasionally on the Mysterious Broadcast after downloading Old World Blues, I always stop for a minute to listen when it does actually.

  • @Swordsmasterguy lol seems i wasnt the only one who listens to the mysterious broadcast just for this song

  • @DarkMetalOmega I know how you feel...but when i see the Sierra Madre or listen to this song i feel that i should stay there my mind knows that im in danger but my heart doesnt care and that i should go there to begin again...

  • When I first heard this song, I was like, I WANT IT! Then I saw its an original that was made specifically for this game. I still want it!

  • Woops someone already did that sorry.

  • It's letting go..

  • Finding it... That's not the hard part.

  • Finding it... That's not the hard part.

    ... It's letting go.

  • The casiano is on the radio mesage by vera is a place to begin again the lyriks were can we go to begin again

  • sad

  • Let go.

  • @Dentroman Thanks

  • @TheLordKacj so is vera keys a real person?

  • I have been looking for this song since the night OWB came out thank you for the upload!

  • This song is haunting me

  • your lyrics are somewhat off (grammar mostly) Being again, in my mind, Let's sway again, tonight. Your arm on my shoulder; Your cheek against mine. Where can we go, When will we find that we know? Where can we go, When will we find that we know... To let go? Begin... begin again... tonight.
  • The first time I played it I was at the right level but kept having trouble, so thext time I played I waited until I was a few levels higher and it was a bit easier. Has anyone dared to play it in hardcore mode yet?

  • Whenever I listen to this I get the old world blues & just wonder where did all the honest hearts go? Everyone & their dead money just makes me want to walk the lonesome road.

  • this is women got to an anthor song for the lonesome road.

  • Chris Avellone: now a songwriter.

  • @darthbandon10 Mikey Dowling: The actual songwriter. Avellone provided a couple words he wanted included, and Mikey wrote the song :) Either way, they're both incredibly talented.

  • @Imootosan My bad, I'd heard MCA wrote it.

  • A hauntingly beautiful song

  • i liked dead money and hated it at the same time, the feeling while being inside just made me want to end this and get the fuck out from that place.

  • i heard this song in old world blues as i was first walking out of the think tank and saw all of the wreckage and the purple mountains in the distance and i said holy shit this is sexy

  • Lyrics are wrong, first line is "Begin again in the night"

  • im a homosexual

  • @Azelmcfuzz cool

  • @devilsmarksman ...did i post that...wow i honestly dont remember doing... oh wait its my friend kyle getting reveng

  • Shooting giant ants with a hunting rifle on a dried lakebed while listening to this is probably one of my top-ten most memorable video gaming moments.

I'm amazed that this was made by a couple gaming industry workers. I fully expected this to be another relic of the fifties.

  • old world blues!

  • this song is so dark i love it
