These boys are aewsome, they would have made it regardless of who made it before them, if not the libertines, kinks or whoever, they'd be accused of "copying" somebody else. There's no such thing as original anymore when it comes to music, we're all influenced by previous works, weather it's music, literature, art or fashion etc, it's you pull it off that counts. I'm reading these comments, the Libertines were a breath of fresh air, but these are fuckin unique, fuckin superb, i'm sorry but the Libertines album is'nt that great, listen to the View album, fuckin amazing! the best, newest style i've heard for a while.

this is comedy, this band would not exist were it not for bands like the libertines. the libertines are the foundation of modern indie music. along with the smiths, oasis, blur they are probably the biggest influence in indie music as we know it. i cznt see what makes these stand out as being "fuckin unique".

the libertines were great yes a breath of fresh air but in my opinion they were no better then the jam who were a great band but the the jam/libertines/oasis are all on the same level they were all a breath of fresh air just at different times in music history. they did roughly the same thing and had the same impact.

in terms of writing the smiths are parralel to shakespeare unique one a kind, oasis/ the jam/libertines are the mills an boon - good at what they do

The Jam are far better than the view and oasis. The libertines are up there with them lyk. And before all the view fans get on to me I love the view at the mo there my favourite band and have been to see them 5 times once being a festival they that year and they were on before the who and did a very good set.
