  • Brilliant routine! I'm planning on rescuing a pup sometime this year (Border Collie is my top breed, but I'm considering Aussies and Shelties as well), and I hope to get a freestyle and agility partner out of it. I have a wonderful rescue mix right now who I adore, but she's no competitor that's for sure.

  • This brought tears to my eyes. What a lovely relationship they have. Well done Tina and Chandi.

Ok, I'm off to try and teach my Labradors to dance...

  • Well done you've trained a dog pavlovian style to spin around in circles.

  • @tomgoldswain3 Not only does your comment not make sense, but your lack of punctuation is astounding! Try actually watching a video before leaving inane comments...

  • @doggylicious2 "Think like a wise man but communicate in the language of the people" - William Butler Yeats...

  • @tomgoldswain3 sorry for the late response, but I'm still searching for where in the video the 'dog spins round in circles'?!

  • chimichanga chimichanga chimichanga chimichanga chimichanga chimichanga chimichanga chimichanga chimichanga Duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck GOOSE!! u were seriously good though! blue

  • incredibly

  • Amazingly wonderful! Love it! :)

  • That's brilliant. Such a talented dog. But I really hope all of the dogs that compete actually have a life outside of training and performing.

  • @scarletXmay This one certainly does, I can assure you.x

  • Absolute crap. What is it about certain humans that they like to show off their power over the animal kingdom by training them to do things that are unnatural. What is even more sad is that there are many other tossers out there, who think this entertainment!!!

  • @rroyboy46 If you see this dog being 'dominated' then you are completely missing the point. It is about the relationship between dog and handler where they are clearly working together, with neither dominating the other. If these movements were 'unnatural' then the dog wouldn't be able to do them.

I appreciate that you don't like to see humans and animals working together in this way, but do you have to be so rude and downright offensive? I guess you feel you do.

  • A rescue dog?! That's even better than Jose's training that I hosted on my channel!

  • New Tina and Chandi DVD released on November 29. Trailer on play dot com

  • awesome!!!

  • awesome!!!

  • Hey Tina, i've watched you and chandi for like a few years every week i think, i never get bored of you two. Such an amazing team, amazing trainer and smart and happy dog, you two are so fantastic i wanna be like you when i grow up. ;D

  • oh.my.god. I've never seen anything like this before, I'm incredibled.

  • J'adoooooore <3

  • Tina's sloppy footwork spoils it again. What a mess she looks.

  • I absolutely loved every second of every routine on BGT and vote 6 times for them. The rapour between human and canine is astounding. Chandi clearly enjoys every second of the routine, and wants so much to please Tina. Anyone who criticizes Tina or the act in any way needs to learn something about dogs - I have 14 very loved and pampered Goldens - and I know all too well how they would react if I expected them to do do something they didn't want to. The interaction with these 2 is amazing.

  • I was really dissapointed that Tina and Chandi didn't win Britain's Got Talent they really deserved it :)

  • Too bad they didnt win BGT. i voted for them twice (:

  • these two reduce me to tears......I could watch it over and over

  • Cracking dog but what leaves a sour taste is the woman campains against anomals used in sport for pleasure but her dog is putting so much strain on its back legs and being forced to perform to earn her money. Pot and Kettle. I will be very upset if she takes the dog off on a gruelling tour after this.

I love the dog to bits but the holier than though pot and kettle stuff from the trainer blasting animal sports etc makes me angry when i see her doing this. Jumping on back legs bad for chandi

  • @dailydogs Her dog isn't being forced. If her dog didn't want to do it the dog would NOT be doing it, i can tell you that now.

  • @dailydogs Oh, and i must say.. Have you ever seen the two-legged dog that walks only on its BACK LEGS? and has done for its whole life? Yeah, didn't think you did.

  • I love them both! Well done and hope you win BGT!!!

  • i love this u 2 are better than kate and gin and i hope u win britains got talent !!!!!xxx

  • Music is from Mack and Mabel

  • Look at that waggy tail!

  • wow!

    die hond is echt geweldig!

ik hoop dat hij het leuk heeft in zijn leven! en dat je hem niet te hard aanpakt

  • She's even better than Kate and Gin, the dog is way more in sync with its owner and can perform alot more than Gin. Not at all repeative like Kate and Gin, very original!

  • I love this pair. The dog is just so happy! No dog that has been forced to do something would continue to do it and wag it's tail the whole time! I personally hope they have a great future no matter what they chose to do or not do!

  • I love this! My favorite dogdance!

  • She's much smarter then my supervisor!!!

  • uhu hope they get fare in BGT :)

  • WIN BGT!!!!

  • Aw these are on BGT now aren't they! So good! Can anyone tell me what the music is please? :)

  • @charliemarr Hi Charlie, she's good, isn't she? Try watching her routine from Crufts last year which shows much more of her ballet routine. I believe the music is the overture from Mack and Mabel.

  • @charliemarr Charlie, the music is from Mack & Mabel, no question about it, I'm sure. I starred in the musical version of it back in the 1980s. Enjoyed the dog and handler!

  • i think her and the dog are very very good dancers but they are both all ready famous on youtue so why have they gone on britains got talent if they are all ready sort of famous because they just have to be patioent and then some one would see there talent instead of going on a show

  • Hi Gemandmo...thank alot for making this clip...so well, I have been watching so many many time....because I love it very much, once again thanks so much.

  • Both of you really amazing....I love you both very very much.

    What a great perfoming...and cute too...well done.

  • Amazing clip! And even more amazing that he/she is a rescue dog. Just goes to show...

  • That was just adorable... =)

  • Wow Amazing :)

    Very good :)

    5 Stars :)

  • Thanks for all the lovely comments!

Freestyle Training Manual, E-book format, available from tina and chandi dotcom.

  • Aside from making the dog jump on its back legs (just as someone who raises animals and what not) I adore this routine and Tina, you are damned lucky to have such a wonderful, wonderful dog. Shelter dogs often become crazy when left in no kill shelters and go months without adoption, but even then, the chance to shine is lessened in a kill shelter. Either way, this dog is proof that bringing home a new friend might also be bringing home a star.

In my eyes, all dogs are winners. Thank you, Tina.

  • @whiteash002 Thanks for your kind comments, but I just have to point out that I do not 'make' Chandi do anything. She is free not to do it at any time. It's her choice and she loves it. I know how lucky I am, and hopefully Chandi feels the same way.

  • Tina, there will always be jealous people who have to try to denigrate brilliance, simply because they wouldnt have a fraction of the feel, timing, and the sheer rapport to train an animal to perform in such joyous harmony as is so absolutely obvious to all who watch you and Chandi. I am proud to know you both and know 200% that your training is based solely on love.

  • This is amazing, this is the first time I have seen cannine freestyle and I must say I am very impressed..wow...The dog and trainer are having so much fun together..."Bravo"

  • Yes this training does go beyond clicker training but as a personal friend of this trainer I can assure you that this lady did not use an E -collar to train or proof the behaviors.

  • Anybody who was at this event can tell you about the relationship this woman has with that dog. It is one of total love and devotion on both sides. Interviews with Tina herself reveal that the dog came up with some of the moves itself and TIna was then able to incorporate these in to the routine. Anyone who thinks e-collars or prongs were used actual sadden me. Maybe a little more research is needed on their part. Thanks for sticking up for her, RAVENNME.

  • My pleasure GemandMo, Tina is a dear friend and I happened to be watching her routines AGAIN......I know how much time and dedication goes into freestyle, the enthusiasm and joy in the work wouldn't be achieved with an e collar......

  • @GemandMo i have to ask my mum has just produced tickets for this i've never been and almost passed out with excitment we are going day 3 and the final :) what do you wear?

  • HOW CUTEEEEEEE

  • Unbelivable partnership . Great :)

  • OK, as a fellow clicker trainer, I am perplexed by the move where the dog goes from in front of you to behind you via between your legs and then immediately (seemingly with no cue) goes up on his hind legs with his back to your back and then walks away from you like that. What was the cue for the get on hind legs and bounced away behavior? Or is it one behavior with a verbal cue given while the dog is still in front of you?

  • Comment removed

  • I think you answered my question. Your dog must be very good with verbal cues!

hmm... your entire routine is a behavior chain held together by the cue for the next behaivor (a conditioned positive reinforcer) so understanding chains can be very helpful especially when things go wrong!!! (LOL as any performance trainer knows they can!). Do you not use the concept of backchaining because you change the routine often?

You say you're not a clicker trainer- what method(s) do you use?

  • Comment removed

  • This training goes beyond clicker. Clicker training very limited and it can't give you the fluidity that you see here.

  • Oh, interesting- I've seen marvously fluid performances from clicker trained animals everything from killer whales to dogs to agility rats. Perhaps you haven't met such good clicker trainers before- or people simply training with a clicker and not truly clicker training. Have you been to clicker expo?

In the end, you get what you click- if you click for fluidity, you'll get it, if you click for crispness that too is what you'll get.

I have never found clicker training to limiting at all.

  • Yes. All of those creatures are fluid in an environment that is sterile and controlled.

In the real world clicker training fails. The dog above was clearly trained with a new and better technology. A technique that requires 'real' communication as an equal with an animal. Dogs are just like us-we just need information to get it right.

The animals is educated as to it's job. Treats and clickers (crutches) are irrelevant and redundant.

  • Don't tell that to my service dog clients, whose dogs perform their clicker trained behaviors out in the real world all of the time. Or any of the dogs trained by guide dogs for the blind in Oregon- who switched from traditional to clicker training about 2 years ago. Since clicker training has been implemented, It is now taking much less time and money to train the guide dogs and they are able to train behaviors that they never could before.

  • A clicker and treats are no more a crutch than a shock collar or choke/prong collar are.

  • It's not a dog its a robot. Definitely a robot.

  • i lol'ed at least 20 times

  • muy mpresionanate flizidades al enrenador de este perro

  • I don't know WHY people do this..LOL But I love it!!! This is an amazing dog with and amazing handler.

  • Wow! If that was a competition, you guys had BETTER have won something! Bravo!!!!!

  • What a BEAUTIFUL routine! Amazing bonding. I can see that routine getting perfect scores across the board. I was just wondering, how old is Chandi? I compete in freestyle myself, and my main freestyle dog is 11. I have been trying to get her to do the "paw cross" while laying down, and I'm at my wits end! I'm using a clicker of course, and she knows "paw", but how did you get your dog to "cross"? Awesome job!

  • @xxlollipop505xx Check out the video posted on YouTube by Kikopup. Search for "How to train your dog to cross their paws". It's an excellent video of this step by step process.

  • These guys are having a blast together, but as the owner of Eddie's Wheels, a maker of canine wheelchairs, I cringe at the dog bouncing up and down on just his rear legs. I've seen too many paralyzed dogs who've suffered major spinal problems and would hate to see this wonderful talented dog in a cart. Keep all four feet on the ground and be safe!

  • I want to do it too......Music is great! What a team!

  • This pair of canine freestyle performer was the best I can say in the world!

  • Chandi (the dog) is perfectly in sync with her partner! She is the best K9 Freestyle performer I have seen by far! It really shows that there is a great bond between them.

  • it's delightful to see them working 2gether so close.. .chandi loves it! and so do I... ;)

gives me a lot of inspiration!

  • Hi,

Yes I have an E-book training manual for HTM and Freestyle available from my website - google Tina Humphrey and go to my 'bluecroft' website for details.

    Thanks!

  • Oh wow so wonderful!!

    ^^

  • awesome. and the more people get the word out about saving rescue pets the better.

no one should ever buy a dog or cat, there are too many that need a home that are in shelters.

    boycott breeding!

  • what a team! this video is in my favorites and brings a smile to my face every time i watch it. beautiful.

  • Whenever I see this vid, Chandi and the lady make me happy. Thanks for your posting.

  • BRAVO!! What a team!

  • Another great perfomance! Congratulations to both - the dog and the lady: an amazing team-work! What kind of dog is it? I found it most fascinating that the dog works perfectly in the distance and even in the back of the lady! Great!

  • Chandi is a blue merle border collie, rescued from the dog pound.

    Arlene [dogdays]

  • This is amazing.

Everyone should also watch the video of the dog plating tic tac toe

  • Just got a border collie a month ago-what a joy to work with and teach! Absolutely one of the smartest dogs out there. Lots of room, lots of love, and lots of structure is needed by these dogs to keep them at their best. They LOVE to learn new commands and be given lots of things to do-work is fun for them!

  • Truly remarkable.........so enjoyed watching it...

  • One of the best freestyle teams I've ever seen! The work is creative and their bond is phenomenal. I watch this one frequently and have shared it with many others. Brava!

  • Great !

This Border Collie is beautiful !

    Fantastic video !

  • I hope they won it. So much hard work must have gone into it! Wow.

And I agree with what the below person said about Border Collies. Don't get one if you don't plan to exercise it A LOT!!! They are lovely hard working and loyal dogs with the right people.

  • Givemeabreak,

Take if from me, Tina knows all about suffering- and also caring- if you knew her story as I do, you might not be so quick to judge. The special bond that she and Chandi have was born out of great personal loss, and I am certain it is this quality which emanates from the performance, which moves so many people when they watch the clips.

Giverherabreak. She is one very special lady.

  • I always said Dogs were smarter than the students I taught In NYC schools

  • You are amazing together!!!!!

  • if you didnt realise it doesnt hury this dog. if a border is working then they become destructive they ask you to giv them work.dont believe me read it up.i have 2 border collies i lov so much. and believe me the last thing tina would do is want 2 hurt her dog, total bond and luv is wat u can see in that performance

  • on my account now. still don't like the video, my perogative; as for how much dedication I have to seniors and animals...my mother suffered dementia and Parksinson's disease and had a feeding tube; I spent five years visiting her and advocating for residents w/no families seven days a week with my octogenarian dad; Been there yourselves? work outreach for seniors and crime victims; current project: opening no-kill shelter in Bronx, NY. Want to be first in line to donate when I get the 501c3?

  • Congratulations for both!!!!! Hard work!!!!!!

Very special dog with such beautiful friendship between them... Incredible!!!!!!

  • How awesome....this is the best...there could not be a happier dog...what this working breed was meant to do, and so much better than tied up barking in someone's backyard or worse! These dogs NEED work to do to be happy, or else they turn into destructive, unhappy, cast-off hyperactive pets that can never find a home ... how wonderful to have such a super-talented trainer that so obviously has spent her life bonding with this beautiful animal! Just amazing!!!

  • awsome

  • It amazes me that people can find something to compain about after watching this video. What a wonderful team. Though you have to realize that those compaining don't know anything about border collies their temperment, ability to learn and their need for a job. These are probably the same folks that keep their dogs in their backyards all day and night and never really interact with them.

    Wonderful video, wonderful team!!!

  • is this dog really being exploited? It doesn't look that way to me - watch that wagging tail, this is one very happy dog.

  • Oh come on. This is just the dog's job. He probably visits hospitals and senior homes on his days off--just like YOU do. Can't you just appreciate someone having a good time with her dog? Who thinks about a dog's time being well spent. This is a DOG. They fawn, sleep, eat, scratch....Greater Good. Ha!

  • Does that dog REALLY look exploited? Come on, do you see the look on it's face? LOVE. He is doing that out of love. I and totally beleive that any person, young or old.. sick or heathly would get a boost out of seeing these two dance. It would lift anyones spirits. I would like to ask you how you spend your time, how often do you visit sick children and elderly? Do you own a dog? This is a happy dog.You need to visit and animal shelter, then complain about how exploited THIS dog is. Jeers to you.

  • absolutely amazing, I'm not a big fan of this dog dancing malarky but I have to say I am very impressed by this.

  • absolutely awe inspiring!!
