Everyone bashing this short really needs to watch the actual movie, or better yet, read the 2-part graphic novel, which is quite excellent. The movie had to really compress a lot for time. And it's supposed to be a retro, one-shot reimagining of the characters.
mmmm im very disapointed with this movie, a new look for batman!!! come on where is kevin conroy's voice. but its true this is a story based on DC comics roots. Thank god the world has evolved.
@darzimoth As much as I like Kevin Conroy as Batman, I'm not convinced that he would be right for a 1950's Batman. And do you REALLY want him to voice the Dark Knight with that design?

pft..i don't need this. they give robin the lil suit again..i hate it when they do that. such things could pass off 40 yrs ago but not now..its just gonna make batman look like a wierdo...which is undoing what christopher nolan has been trying to do with the live movies.
Itz funny how we seem to think we have to look at the 'dark side' now and the writer says that at this time everything was positive. Things are pretty damn positive now as well. Iraq is and terrorism are nothing compared to events like Vietnam or WWII or WWI or Korea for that matter. The good old days sucked quite often. Be very glad you're here NOW.
Well I don't believe he was saying the world was more positive persay. They focused more on a super hero's good intentions or their embodiment of the positive aspects of the American dream without having to bring up the down side. These days it's much more "in" to have controversial heroes that second guess, compromise etc. In those days since it was more black and white, the conflict could be in the world, and the pure-hearted heroes can just play their role of responding to it.
Heroes were pretty controversial in their early days. Superman and Batman were social crusaders that worked outside the law quite abit. Batman even carried a gun and used it once to kill someone. The Sandman and Spectre were also weird avenging creatures that hated social injustice of their day. Hell Wonder Woman had lots of commentary on adult topics and had S&M undertones in her adventures.
Um, one problem, except for Wonder Woman and maybe the Manhunter and Superman, EVERYONE IN THE LEAGUE WOULD BE 70 YEARS OLD NOW. Here's a tip to Superhero creators. STAY IN THIS TIME AND ESPECIALLY IN THIS DIMENSION!!! LOL... ok, i don't really care, i will watch it anyway. maybe it'll be good but they should have done something set in the proper time. it's like putting Indiana Jones in the future.
I can answer that, and it's a big NO all around. The New Frontier is based on a DC comics mini series called DC: New Frontier which shows the League forming in the 1950's. It has nothing to do with the Justice League cartoon or it's follow up Justice League Unlimited.
Good cartoon

Hey to the video poster:
Has the animated series anything to do with this DVD MOvie?
I see the first 3 resp. one pilot von the series and there are no history videos about each character like in this scenes.
Are the voices the same like in the series?
Why they made a two season series and make a 2008 release of a movie?
