I have read many of Dr. Dobson's books and listened to his radio program for about 15 years. He has never said anything even remotely racist. I have no idea where you came up with the idea that he is racist.

One of Dobson's embarassing little secrets is that his son Ryan is divorced & remarried- and we all know what Jesus said about THAT.

Anyway,if you go to the Focus website,you'll find all sorts of pics of Ryan's second wife. They NEVER posted pictures of his first wife. Why? One story I read was that Ryan's first wife is African American-and that the inter-racial marriage was considered a "scandal" by Daddy Dearest.

I do not see how implying that interracial marriages have some issues is untruthful statement. Don't you agree that people of different culture, race, language etc. would have some issues in their relationship they would have to work on? He didn't say anything racist; he simply pointed out that interracial couples do face issues in some places. Noticing a problem isn't the same thing as causing one. I am sure that he personally doesn't care what color a person is. However, he is correct in that such couples can and do face some problems. Should they? NO. But they do. I saw the actual opinion of Dr Dobson. I personally don't like the guy cause he banned XXXchurch from Denver, but he didn't say anything racist. It says the truth, interracial marriages come with more challenges than a normal marriage. This is very true where I live. So i really can't disagree with that point or call it racist. My gut reaction is that (like many issues) it's a no-win situation. Many Christians see no problem with inter-racial dating/marriage while many do. I don't know ANYBODY who has an intrinsic problem with a person's ethnicity, but my gut reaction is that MOST people 'just aren't comfortable' (or used to) interracial marriage. Because of this, maybe Dr. Dobson wants to avoid the issue - but that doesn't mean he's a 'racist.'
