cheap = subwoofer 14.99$ 8" 2 fullrange woofers 2$ 5 1/4" and 2 horn tweeters 6$ 350w rms amp for 21$ mdf m2= 2$ .that is some serious setup.

these fullrange woofers are even more powerful than ur sub.

hello my name is joseph and i have the same x-540 and i also felt it was missing the bass and i look at the specs and it can power at 75 watts max at 4ohm so i got a 10 inch sub from a car for 10 buck and i had a old sub box and wow it was what was missing all you have to do is unscrew the sub and just run the line from there to the new sub you will love the bas it gives out

i got mine for christmas 2010 and no problems at all, bass is amazing, quality is beast! got them mounted up around my walls in my room to watch movies and stuff. i dont use the x-540's for music as i have 2 better, louder bookshelf speakers for music. but overall a good system :)

No the driver is not bigger. I have Borg systems but havent breaked in nu 540's yet. So sofar, the 530 can take lower frequncies but its got à " farting sound" and the mid range clarity is much much better on the 540's :) so these systems player at the same time is ownage :D i tecommend 540's

@dslidders well it depends really. what are you hooking up to. is it 5.1 compatible. but ill tell you this before you reply. you wont feel bass on this system but you will feel it on z-2300. if i had the money to either get 1 or the other i wouldnt even hesitate to pick the z-2300. that system is awsome. but this one is good too.

It's impossible to tell the kind of sound you're hearing. Most likely because of the low quality microphone on your camera. All we see is an oscillating cone, nothing more.

We saw that video and how does a low budget 2.1 sound like that, firstly ultra low bit rate that sounded all muffled much like listining on the phone using a 2.1 system and a 4watt rms sub plunged into a crappy 8 watt rms amplifier. Make a video for 3 minutes and we bet it will blow.

@KiyoAdrianXevious Yeah you can, it has RCA outputs on the back, but bare in mind that the amplifier in this system is weak, really weak. It's max output is like 120w. A lot of larger speakers have a higher RMS than this system's max output.

@stalefish99 its possible but you have to find some speakers of the same ohms and putting different speakers isnt gonna help any because the amp puts out certain frequencys and thats what makes the frequencie range so limited. just buy a cheap pair of bookshelves and a 20 watt radio and hook them up to give you that extra low and high. it'll help but if you change the speakers on this system the SQ will be better but the frequencie range is not gonna change at all

@stalefish99 In addition to what Kiyo has already said, routing your probably larger speakers to the sub-woofer would be unwise, as the power supply is built specifically for that sub and speakers in terms of supplying power and whatnot, and larger speakers may drain the sound quality or even damage or destroy the unit all together. However, if you do get it working, let me know, as I also have some larger speakers that would blow my mind :D

@stalefish99 Yeah you can i did it. i changed both front and back left and right and just connected better speakers with rca connectors. It worked well for 2 year but since last week i got a big problem, seems like i lost the subwoofer, the center, and back channels(left and right), and the front channels (left and right) are playing by all speakers.. Had to put it in 2.1 mode to get it to sound decently. Just dont hook up too strong speakers and you should be fine.

there's no such thing as a logitech x550 there is only the 530 and 540 you must be thinking of the z5500 but don't leave one-up comments if you don't even know what you are talking about. and the x540 isn't soft i happen to have one myself and it is plenty loud for movies and games I don't even have to turn it up halfway. It delivers hard (enough) hitting bass with  crisp (enough) sound quality that it is well worth more than the $100 you pay for it.(GEEZ the nerve of some people)-What a RETARD!

Oh yeah, I bought a 2.1 Logitech system, and the satellites had to be turned up all the way, and the subwoofer had a nice, but not loud thump. I then bought this system, and turned this sucker all the way up, and I about just lost control of my bladder. I don't go over 40%, its beautiful. :D
