I don't know for all the turkish dances my friend but for sure,some turkish dances have Hellenic roots.
For example if you see the Hellenic-Pontian dance of Pirichios, is too closed with a turkish dance that i have seen in YouTube. If you now think of centuries,the Hellenic-Pontians was living in Trapezounta,Samsounta centuries before the Turks come in the region. By this example i came to the conclusion that some danced was copied by the people who were living before Turks

I agree that we can find this dance in both countries. I believe that there are not so many differences between the Greek and Bulgarian way of dancing tsestos. What are the steps to this dance? I want to learn it! I know Macedonian and Cretan dances but this is really the only dance from Thraki that interests me at the moment! Plus everyone in the bay area either dances Tsestos or Zeimbekiko, and I want to be one of the few who can do both.

Is this an old dance? i mean is there any concrete proof for that? i'm really curious. because, as a turkish citizen, i've been believing that most of the thing in turkish culture which we call "turkish", has actually an old greek (anatolian greek, roman) background in itself.
my greek fellows, i'd be glad if you could enlighten me about this dance, it really looks like turkish folk dances =) and it's beautiful!

I don't know for all the turkish dances my friend but for sure,some turkish dances have Hellenic roots.
For example if you see the Hellenic-Pontian dance of Pirichios, is too closed with a turkish dance that i have seen in YouTube. If you now think of centuries,the Hellenic-Pontians was living in Trapezounta,Samsounta centuries before the Turks come in the region. By this example i came to the conclusion that some danced was copied by the people who were living before Turks

I agree that we can find this dance in both countries. I believe that there are not so many differences between the Greek and Bulgarian way of dancing tsestos. Unfortunately the societies (in balkans) they are not ready to accept that their "neighbors" have similar traditional-folk music and dances. Stupid Nationalist :)
