Rabbits shown are wild feral rabbits. There is also a culture of keeping pet rabbits as companion animals in Australia. Domestic rabbits cannot survive in the wild. Rabbit owners should ensure that their pet rabbits don't escape nor should people dump rabbits rather than taking a responsible approach and surrendering their rabbits to RSPCA or rabbit rescues like the Rabbit Rescue Sanctuary. If a pet rabbit is freed in an urban environment they suffer dog and cat attack, die of thirst or cars.
They could organized a sport event to hunt them down with guns and dog. Also they can use for their fur and meat. It's better an instant death by bullet, than let them die of hunger slowly and painfully, poor bunnies.
um, "one of Australia's few native predators"? We have quite alot actually. And as for all the 'bunny hunt' comments...they might be an invasive species, but it's our own fault because WE brought them here and didn't keep them under control. I really hope you guys are killing them humanely, they don't deserve to suffer because humans are idiots.
@Sacred90Lotus one shot, one kill mate. a lot easier than seeing a rabbit starve to death. oh, and they were brought to australia by an english man centuries ago just as a bit of trivia
@Britguy1962 Actualy, the Australian government has already arranged for that to occur, and cleverly since we already dont have enough water for the existing population they are planning to import half the population of Asia as well
