oops I should have typed lws201 but file version I have is 2.01.1025 file version, Logitech Webcam Software aka latest version. They are trying to bring in Vid HD but doesnt work for me atm. Think its going to be a service just like skype.

I am sure I have seen a video of someone using the HD camera on here but she doesnt mention what fps and res it is running at. HD = need more light. The 1.10 software has the most choice of resolutions available but those darn compatibilty issues.. Software lws210 aka 2.10 has res of 640*480 30fps, 960*720 15fps (but to me seems more then that + what I use) 2MP@5fps Yet on lws110 it ran 2MP res at 15fps! Why Logitech took this step back I dont know! I am forced to use lws210 :(

Dude this camera is too good to not have 30fps at higher resolutions than 640 x 480. I have seen many top quality shows streamed in great quality using this webcam. Btw managed to strike a deal for one off Ebay for 40 quid bargain considering they were around 100 quid for ages ^^...... Oh I see I must be getting the new version then :)

@keith23uk I'm sure the one I have can't do 30 fps at higher than 640x480, but Logitech definitely did at least one other version without changing the model name, so post another comment if one you get has different specs. :-)

@JJC1138 Darn mine is from 2007 on the box. Finding the same fps ratings as yourself. Found best software options to be on lws110 aka logitech webcam software 1.10 but had to get 2.10 from USA logitech site as links are broke on UK site! Was issues when streaming through Firefox any earlier software versions. There is definitely a HD version of this cam I have seen on Amazon but apparently it needs a lot of light to work well so not all that good. Saw it for abt 8 quid more on Amazon.

This is no HD Video camera... Software enhanced 30fps? So any camera (pic only, non video) being able to take pics on that resolution is HD?

Camera phisically offers 30 fps at max 640 480 res, any above is 15 of 5 fps. This info is crutial for consumers but is being hidden.

HD specs surely do not specify fps on HD video but they specify Hz, which privide similar info, wouldn't you agree? Software enhancing is a joke.

Yep, I agree. It's misleading and confusing, particularly because it seems that they've launched a new version the this camera that they say can do 720p at 25 fps, but they haven't changed the product name or the appearance.

Hey man I have some audio problems with my new Logitech quickcam pro 9000, I have all the settings completely lowered for recording on the mic but it cuts out terribly. I've tried moving away from the mic a whole bunch but that's just a pain. Any help?

the autofocus is way more desirable than the Logitech QuickCam Communicate Deluxe's side manual focus wheel.. 3 second AF is probably way less than whatever it takes to do it manually. What a tempting cam...

Do you have the exposure setting set to "automatic"? When the exposure is set too high it limits the frame rate, and I think the automatic setting does a lousy job so I always use the manual exposure mode.

I've never had any troubles with synchronizing video and sound in VirtualDub. I record with both the video and audio uncompressed. Perhaps that would help?

I use the quick cam 9000 but to get the full optimization of the cam you must always use a powered usb hub as it drains a lot of power out of the computer and thus slows the cam down a lot.

I can't run the logitech quickcam application that comes with the cam. When i install from the disk things like yahoo and what not detect my camera and work but the application does not.. wtf should i do lol

yeah i have =( posted on the forums about it and i think an admin told me to submit the problem to customer support. Okay so when i use my webcam in yahoo the orange ring comes on and stays on. when i open the app from the icon "logitech quickcam" the program seems to quit responding immediately and the orange light begins to blink on and off rapidly. Then the only way to close the app is through the task manager.
