@1960pixie you do know that Cavalier's heart problems are a genetic deformities of their blood platelets, right? It has to do with their inbreeding, not their diet. That's why many Cavies don't live past 10. Both of mine have been a healthy weight all their lives and both have heart murmurs because of their genetic defect. Maybe you should learn a bit about a breed before you make comments about owners killing their pets.

Wash the puppy not too often, when it starts to smell - maybe once a month. When you do, give them small treats so its a good experience and they dont struggle as much when they are older. Cav's arent notorious for liking baths ;)

My cavalier loves to run around in the muck, so we rinse just her feet quite often, usually 1-2 times a week. Washing your dog too often can lead to problems, and is unnecessary.

Wash it when it smells, that's my advice.

And remember to wipe the inside of thier ears dry afterwards, very important.
