  • Crocodile Rock!

  • Sir Elton John!

  • Very happy that I've been buying these box sets. XD My nieces need to see what real entertainment was, and who REAL stars. Not teenagers that get music deals just because they had a show on the Disney Channel...

  • Benny and the jets. All Time Fav!! Didnt figure out what he was sayin for a whle though...

  • Man it's awesome and funny.

  • Did Henson's people make Elton John's Croc Rock hookup, or is that one from his own stage suits- I can't tell!

  • @KarNYCLoAMR would it be at all surprising if it was?

  • Bowie would have been excellent on The Muppet Show. I mean, I can't be the ONLY one who loves him in Labyrinth. He works well with Muppets

  • YEEES! IT'S THE FEATHER SUIT!!!!

  • I looooooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeee the mupets and Elton John so this is like the BEST YOUTUBE VIDEO IN THE INTIRE WORLD AND EXISTINCE OF LIFE!!!!!!!!! I love this it's 100% the best!!!

  • I like the sweedish chef chasing the chicken in each and every part

  • this show is funnier than icarly!

  • Elton John + The Electric Mayhem = MIND BLOWN!!!

  • even my lunch likes me lol

  • @jxplorer And the big crocodile would have liked to have him AS lunch.

    ...

Or DID the big crocodile have him as lunch?

  • Oh my gosh, these are the best. Much better than TV today

  • What the Hell is he wearing

  • I love how, when this episode was made, Elton John said that he didn't want to dress up in the boisterous costumes like he used to. He was done with that phase. lol

  • doesnt look like cee lo green is very original with his costumes.

  • Elton John is one of the strangest and most wonderful human beings ever. His music is awesome... and to fuse it with the muppets... makes the world right

  • C Lo Green obviously saw this episode.

  • 2 people have never experienced Crocodile Rock

  • @Froleyboy Are you sure it's not Statler and Waldorf randomly heckling the show as always? Haha.

  • I think it would have been cool if david bowie had been on the Muppets!

  • @wiesje666 Labyrinth was pretty close to that.

  • @wiesje666 labrynth was as close as we'll ever get *sigh*

  • so...

    his costume fits it,

    but was he "out" yet?

  • I bet Elton John felt at home on this show. He's so outlandish.

  • get rid of Idol, & bring back The Muppet Show! it's like 1000x better!

  • Stupid chicken.

  • It would have been so cool if they got Alan Alda on this show

  • I guess he did'nt come out of the closet yet.

  • I can't wait to see him in concert!!!! o(^▽^)o

  • @lastlivinghippie I saw him Sat. in Worcester, Mass. you won't be disapointed amazing 3 hour show!

  • was he "out" yet at this point?

  • @shaun3701 No, but it wouldn't have mattered to the Muppets.

  • @MyMoppet52 Yeah, they wouldn't have minded. I mean, they've got a frog with a pig and a chicken with a. . . uh, a whatever. Everybody love everybody.

  • and the award for most applause on the muppet show goes to Elton John!!

  • elton john is probably the best recording artist of his generation and mixed with the muppets just hilarious

  • this wuz the first episode of the muppets I even saw!!!!!

  • I like this version of Benny and The Jets better

  • "Heryorg, yorgahurgaderga, enyengesborg."

  • "suzy left me for some foreign guy"...and "wore her dresses tight"? he could've made the lyrics a bit more kid friendly...lol

  • @noshyosh this isnt a kid it was meant as a comdey varity

  • You know the chef is the only one with real human hands? My brother just told me and I looked at it and the chef had man hands with a ring on it O_O. Crazy huh?

  • @AGirl124 Well, he's the only one where you can actually see a real person's hands. Bunsen, Beaker and a few others are operated in the same way, but they Muppeteers wear gloves over their hands. It's probably because Swedish Chef handles the utensils and other props and the person operating him has to be able to move their hands more easily. With the other live-hand Muppets, the person wearing the gloves has their ring and little fingers squashed together so they aren't as dextris.

  • Too bad anyone of the Beatles didn´t show up on the Muppet Show.

  • 4:37 FUNNY AS HELL!!!

  • PRICELESS!!!

  • Poor Elton... according to Brian Henson... Elton didn't want to do any act in one of those weird feathery costumes

  • LOL!!!! at 4:24

  • I just realised that Lady Gaga is a female version of Elton John

  • @Chacotelo38 In style, yes. In talent, NO.

  • "Well it can sound good"

    "It can?!"

  • What a job to have. I would love to be a muppet master!

  • Was this episode made before or after he was Knighted?

  • @jewfy2u

this was done many many years before he was knighted.

  • Wonder how Kermit keeps those crocs under control, seeing as he's part of their basic diet. Anyone agree?

  • I saw this when it first aired on TV. I remember the newspaper having a full page ad about Elton being on the show. I have waited 34 years to see this again. Thank you so much.By this time, I was becoming a fan of Elton but this was the first time I had actually seen him perform and ever since this night he is my idol.

  • @selander62

    on dvd now

  • "See you later alligator" comes from this show? or they just used it??? sorry english is not my 1st language and I'd like to know! ty

  • @piernic75 Bill haley of 'Rock Around The Clock' fame did a song called 'See Ya Later, Alligator' back in the 1950's, so it was probably a slang term that originated in that decade. Au revior

  • he sounds like john lennon

  • i grew up in the wrong decade. wish i was born about 20 years earlier for this.

  • I'm so happy this episode is up on here it's my favoerite one and I haven't seen it since I was eight years old thankyou so much for posting this! :D

  • This is actually a pretty good rendition of this song...

  • I'm trying to figure out the decade of Elton John's clothing style. Late 60s maybe?

  • HA he falls in!

  • For some reason this is my fav song ever and I love this ep of Muppet Show!

  • CROCodile ROCK!!

  • Wow. Sounded to me like the Muppets were trying to sing "School's out for the summer". Turns out they were trying to sing "Benny and the Jets".

  • i have this movie, i'm glad elton's on here. i love him. elton on muppets brings out the inner child in me.

  • I wonder if they'll put the muppet show back on TV cause it was pretty funny because Statler and Waldorf.

  • Now THIS is a guy who make wearing glasses cool.

  • Gee the Swedish Chef really laid an egg!

  • whoa!Elton John wrote the Crocodile Rock?!

  • Something must be made clear: Sir Elton is brilliant, but he is battling mental illness. Like Vincent Van Gogh, you know?

  • Comment removed

  • i love how they bounce when they sing benny and the jets(; Elton John = musical phenominon. Muppets = just the cutest/coolest freaking things ever :D -cries tears of joy-

  • Really appreciate your comments. Thanks for sharing them. I love this.

  • "ok now listen guys how many times have i told you to never eat the guest stars at the begining of the show?" hahaha so funny hilarious!

  • de zu egg de zu a ping pong ball! lol.

  • @mabgamer6407 No egg de shoo, Chickie, chickie de shoo

  • @SuperionDefensor Ya its kinda hard to read his odd language at times lol. he does say something about ping pong balls at one point i love that part lol.

  • 4:39 "See you later, Aligator!" Now that is funny!

  • Even though he wasn't doing these crazy costumes anymore when he did the show, I'm glad he did it anyway. He could've been a big baby and refuse to do the show, but he was a trooper about it.

  • Elton John Music Legend

    With

    The muppets Comedy Extrodinairs?

    Priceless or wat?

    Music Genius with comedy geniuses?

How can it get any better?

    I know!

Elton john singing some of his more popular songs!

    Omg Just pure Bliss

  • @RetartsInPain To think Dr.Teeth was inspired by Elton :)

  • @RetartsInPain got that right! i wasn't born in the 80's but i LOVE elton john's music

  • @RetartsInPain I dunno, Monty Python and Elton John?

  • This show was the best and so is Elton.

  • When the show called Elton about having him as a guest, they wanted him because of his flamboyant costumes. Ironically, when they called him, that was when he was just getting out of that particular habit! haha!!

  • that feather outfit is his usual clothes now

  • I love the "I wrote it" priceless :)

  • I want that outfit!

  • you should try to get the Roger Moore episode.

  • dont you think the keyboardist for the muppets band looks like Ganondorf from Legend of Zelda games? hahahaha

  • Acorrding to the muppet back-scenes...

Elton didn't want to do that flaboyant fetaher suit thing... so they had him doing it anyway

  • Elton John!? HE BETTER HAVE A NUMBER WITH ROWLF!

  • can anyone remember rick moranis was on one and jim carrey as well it was so funny

  • the ring doesnt mean anything he weard rings al the time

  • This leaves me with but one question... Where can I get an outfit like that one? Elton rocks!!!!!!

  • I noticed some of the churches in my town are doing a VBS called "Crocodile Dock" and I'm 100% sure it's a parody of "Crocodile Rock"

  • "It's great to be here. Even my lunch likes me." LOL!

  • he was married at one point in time

  • Yea he was married in 1984 but since this was filmed in 1977 i was wondering if he was with someone else at the time

  • is that an engagment ring on his finger when he sing bennie ad the jets

  • Biggest Muppet Applause Ever!

  • Out of all the Muppet Show episodes I've watched, 3 of them I liked truly best. This is one of them! The other 2 are the ones with Rita Moreno and Lou Rawls

  • yeah.. but the steve martin one was the best non episode..lol

  • there is a girl in my class who sounds just like the swedish chef XD

  • marry her O_O At least I would

  • hahaha lol her name's kinga and she's polish, im a girl so really i cant marry her XD

  • well in that case... :P

  • lol =D

  • Crocodile Rock kicks ass, and I cant help but laugh watching "animal" in the background all excited perfoming in the song..

  • Oh my gosh! i didn't know someone had this on youtube! Its been a while since i've seen an episode from the Muppet show. Last one i believe was w/ Alice cooper.

  • Fabulous costume. People in the music business now do not try hard enough.

  • @censorama lol i think it looks funny

  • Check out eltons silver platform shoes in crocodile rock!

  • is best!! i lick to the song for ever ;-)

  • Crocodile Rock Rules! My favorite song by Elton John.

  • i wish they came back

take it off hanna banana or other bullshit show

    this IS funny

  • No Henson, no Muppets.

  • They could still do it because Kermit does occasional appearances with the guy who does Kermit since Jim Henson's death. Plus Jane Henson and the children run his company.

  • I agree. Disney's screwed them up bad.

  • Elton John and his style of fashion on the Muppet show!!!

  • 05:01, Jim Henson talking to himself!

  • I remember seeing this episode on Nickelodeon.

  • Kermit: "Isn't that interesting?"

    Elton: "NO."

    This was really funny=:)

  • can someone tell me if its possible to get the opening song with elton john

  • I think this song is on his "Don't Shoot Me" album, only without the Muppets and crocodiles=:)

  • Elton John with Doctor Teeth and The Electric Mayhem! PURE GOLD!

  • he blends in with the whole thing beautifully (== love it

  • Of Course! Early Elton - he looked like a big Muppet himself. Does anyone remember the Elton John Doll that was custom made for him? LOL.

  • so cool

  • This was one of my favorite episodes and also when they had Julie Andrews on the show.

  • Also, the episode with Shirley Bassey was incredible!!!

  • Hmmm...have to check that one out. But the outfits that the Muppets make Elton John wear are really...interesting, aren't they?

  • Those flamboyant costumes belonged to Elton John. They didn't make him wear any of them. He choose to wear them. LOL. He would travel with designer costumes...trunks of gaudy outfits. Remember the Donald Duck costume in New York City's Central Park concert? LOL!

  • Yep, just like he kept those giant shoes he wore in "Tommy."

  • LOL. Yes, that's right! I guess EJ didn't place those shoes up for auction, yet?!

  • god i love that intro song.... elton rocks

  • ive never heard elton john till now, damn hes got talent

  • you realized that he's over 60 today??

  • Muppet Show Elton Jhon to cool I luv it

  • That is an amazing outfit, I gotta say.

  • It's the craziest outfit I've ever seen!

  • Sir Elton John.

  • the swedish chef rocks too

  • You rock Elton!

  • i think this show has done the unthinkable. it had some of the most famous people in the world host it. plus, they where the only humans there.

  • This is my favorite episode!

  • elton john is awesome and i love the mupets so it rocks lol

  • i <3 the Muppet Show and this is a wonderful episode.. Elton did a great job.. must be tough working with someone like Missy Piggy

  • tell me about it. you know they could still do the show, if they didn't have a problem with half the cast sounding different. even the swedish chef! just not that same old " heeeear dooshpor ka deesh ka dee ka doof dador ya shporf ka dorf hear cork BORK BORK BORK!

  • I love this and on his birthday, too. Happy Birthday, Elton.

  • My folks are fans of Elton. Maybe I'll show them this episode sometime.

The crocs were played by Jerry Nelson, Dave, Louise Gold, and the large one in every scene was probably Frank Oz. Leaves me to wonder who was manipulating Floyd, Animal and Zoot.

  • thise is a grat show i hope the get it on dvd becuse it just brings back memorys when we all were unger

  • Glad it hasn't been removed. Thats beauty of youtube at work. I see this episode here and I want the DVD season sets so badly now!! GReat stuff. I saw all these when they originally aired. Henson will alway be one of my most favorite people.

  • I really hope they DON'T delete this...=(

But i'm sure some fucktard will.

  • i wish elton still looked like that! Soo hottt ;) But really he is a little scary now, but cute back then!

  • He was 30 back then right?

  • This is the best episode yet! Elton John should be proud of it.

  • I love elton John! I'm a boy, How did you find this old show

  • *lol* Don't tell his husband, David Furnish. He'll be crushed! :P

  • BENNIE AND THE JETS! WOOT!!!

  • Really, really, fine version of Bennie & the Jets 7 minutes or so in - the feel's a little bit different to all the others I've heard - some extra special magic - an Elton John / Jim Henson collaboration - does anyone out there know anything about the recording of this? Cheers!

  • Crocodile Rock!!

  • aaaaw man, the muppets rule!! we need more like this on tv! :D

  • elton's so adorable when he pretends to like women.....*sigh* he's fab!!

  • @avth76: pretends? this episode was done before he was married--to a girl--and well before he "came out" & is now wed to dave furnish.

  • cool drummer .. :-D

  • you mean Animal?
