Very happy that I've been buying these box sets. XD My nieces need to see what real entertainment was, and who REAL stars. Not teenagers that get music deals just because they had a show on the Disney Channel...
I looooooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeee the mupets and Elton John so this is like the BEST YOUTUBE VIDEO IN THE INTIRE WORLD AND EXISTINCE OF LIFE!!!!!!!!! I love this it's 100% the best!!!
I love how, when this episode was made, Elton John said that he didn't want to dress up in the boisterous costumes like he used to. He was done with that phase. lol
Elton John is one of the strangest and most wonderful human beings ever. His music is awesome... and to fuse it with the muppets... makes the world right
@MyMoppet52 Yeah, they wouldn't have minded. I mean, they've got a frog with a pig and a chicken with a. . . uh, a whatever. Everybody love everybody.
You know the chef is the only one with real human hands? My brother just told me and I looked at it and the chef had man hands with a ring on it O_O. Crazy huh?
@AGirl124 Well, he's the only one where you can actually see a real person's hands. Bunsen, Beaker and a few others are operated in the same way, but they Muppeteers wear gloves over their hands. It's probably because Swedish Chef handles the utensils and other props and the person operating him has to be able to move their hands more easily. With the other live-hand Muppets, the person wearing the gloves has their ring and little fingers squashed together so they aren't as dextris.
I saw this when it first aired on TV. I remember the newspaper having a full page ad about Elton being on the show. I have waited 34 years to see this again. Thank you so much.By this time, I was becoming a fan of Elton but this was the first time I had actually seen him perform and ever since this night he is my idol.
@piernic75 Bill haley of 'Rock Around The Clock' fame did a song called 'See Ya Later, Alligator' back in the 1950's, so it was probably a slang term that originated in that decade. Au revior
i love how they bounce when they sing benny and the jets(; Elton John = musical phenominon. Muppets = just the cutest/coolest freaking things ever :D -cries tears of joy-
@SuperionDefensor Ya its kinda hard to read his odd language at times lol. he does say something about ping pong balls at one point i love that part lol.
Even though he wasn't doing these crazy costumes anymore when he did the show, I'm glad he did it anyway. He could've been a big baby and refuse to do the show, but he was a trooper about it.
When the show called Elton about having him as a guest, they wanted him because of his flamboyant costumes. Ironically, when they called him, that was when he was just getting out of that particular habit! haha!!
Out of all the Muppet Show episodes I've watched, 3 of them I liked truly best. This is one of them! The other 2 are the ones with Rita Moreno and Lou Rawls
Oh my gosh! i didn't know someone had this on youtube! Its been a while since i've seen an episode from the Muppet show. Last one i believe was w/ Alice cooper.
They could still do it because Kermit does occasional appearances with the guy who does Kermit since Jim Henson's death. Plus Jane Henson and the children run his company.
Those flamboyant costumes belonged to Elton John. They didn't make him wear any of them. He choose to wear them. LOL. He would travel with designer costumes...trunks of gaudy outfits. Remember the Donald Duck costume in New York City's Central Park concert? LOL!
tell me about it. you know they could still do the show, if they didn't have a problem with half the cast sounding different. even the swedish chef! just not that same old " heeeear dooshpor ka deesh ka dee ka doof dador ya shporf ka dorf hear cork BORK BORK BORK!
My folks are fans of Elton. Maybe I'll show them this episode sometime.
The crocs were played by Jerry Nelson, Dave, Louise Gold, and the large one in every scene was probably Frank Oz. Leaves me to wonder who was manipulating Floyd, Animal and Zoot.
Glad it hasn't been removed. Thats beauty of youtube at work. I see this episode here and I want the DVD season sets so badly now!! GReat stuff. I saw all these when they originally aired. Henson will alway be one of my most favorite people.
