Ask yourself : bad mouthing about a different religion - is it a teaching of your religion ? By the way, I changed my name when i converted, NOT to an Arab name but rather a name of one of the companions of the Prophets. (saw) Muslims don't have their names because it's Arabic, they have it because of it's meaning.

@BallerandRunner I changed it because i was inspired by the story of one of the companions of the Prophet (saw) and felt that i could relate to them. Also, my previous name was the name of a slave master who oppressed the weak. I felt that to keep my name would contradict my faith.
