Me and a friend were planning on seeing them in october 2004, they played in Drachten (one of the very last dates they played) wich was weird cause it's pretty local and hardly any good bands play here. Nah, all this new stuff sucks. Anything that claims to be grind is a Carcass rip off. Listen to Necrotism Descanting the Insolubrious (or however it's spelled). Good break down, but I wish they stuck to letting us hear what this is like live instead of throwing the recording over it.
why should anything that claims to sound like grind be a Carcass Rip-off in some way it's logical because they they are one of the pioneers and you should stay in the method of playing.
Half Right, anyone claiming to be GOre-Grind is just ripping Carcass off. THese guys had a personal endorcement from Napalm Death themselves, before Mezko died in '04. NxDx even said that when they decided to step down Nasum would be the ones to rightfully carry the torch.
Definitely. Of course, I don't mean everyone is a TOTAL rip-off, I suppose I'm just old and after awhile all this stuff sounds the same. The old bands seem to have the only variety I can connect with anymore. I've heard some okay stuff recently, but really it's all melding into this screamo bull that sucks.
Me? I'm 25. I know what you mean. Thank god we still have monster grind bands like The Locust flying the flag high. And Hey, it's no a total loss, Carcass AND At The Gates are both reuniting for Waken '08.
