Actually I am reasonably certain this is a variant of the T-34/85 medium Soviet tank or the IS-1. As you know most Sherman tanks use a 75mm gun and if you freeze frame you can see the gun mount on these Soviet tanks are not of that calibre.

Perhaps but if this is a variant of the T-34/85 its definitely not based on the Sherman tanks. The T-34 was a superior tank in every aspect to the Sherman therefore it makes no sense for them to copy a faulty model when they already have a superior one. Still as history will attest the Soviets only copied useful designs.

The Sherman tank was quite literally a piece of shit. The Soviets copied the superior German made Tiger tank because it had merits in tank design. The Sherman had nothing with which to standout from other tanks. The only benefit of the Sherman is that it can be mass produced.
