People that race boats must have a death wish. I'd rather drive a sprint car sittin on the front bumper then race a damn boat. I've driven a boat at 80 and it scared the shit out of me. I worked on boats for awhile and had to test one now and then. Without fail I'd get it going as fast as it'd go, and I swore I wouldn't. I had a couple of brown shorts moments, but I would still ream them as fast as they'd go. I'm glad I don't work on them anymore, I just knew one would get me eventually.

Well all you people who think boats can't do 200 MPH better look at drag boats. I saw one in San Diego go 265MPH in a 1/4 mile, so it is possible all you wwana be smart aleks.

I happen to race hydroplanes. The first boat that flipped was NOT going 200mph, yea, some of the DRAG boat, running on alcohol with huge V8's can got 265. But there are only three classes of that style boat, SST45, SST60, and SST120, not even the SST120's come near 200mph. and they have full cab-over cockpits. that being an open cockpit would be an SST45. SST45's might get into the low 80's. more like low 70's and thats fast. I have flipped at nearly 70 and hitting the water that fast isnt fun.
