Thank you for this video, we just put ours down today. He had cancer and for the past few months it progressed rather quickly. He would of been 10 in January. Thank you, and I too am sorry for your loss.
i'm sorry to hear about your beautiful boy... I know how it feels as we had to put our 8 year old golden, Kona down last week. it's a very hard thing to handle when they become a part of the family :( that was a beautiful video and i wanted to thank you for sharing
so sorry for your loss i had to put my golden retriever 3-31-11 it hurts so much he was 13 years old my dukie boy i love you so much much is not left i will see you again my dukie so sorry i miss my duke
@Charlottesville2009 The loss was ours... Draco was one of the kind and will never be replicated, I still miss my golden boy tons but I'm comforted by knowledge his old bones no longer hurt.
God bless his soul. I am very sorry for the loss :( makes me cry eveytime because I have a golden retrivier named buddy and I am very sad that one day he will die. But u just have to live everyday with someone like the best day cause u never know when they could leave u.
@cody21706 dont waste time thinking about what will happen.. This is not how life is intended to live.. Live your life enjoy your friend and when the time comes part ways gratefully knowing that once the time is right you will meet your friend again.
Thank u for putting this together. My 8 y.o. golden Madison has been sick for a week, & while we're still awaiting results, I get the feeling as an owner that he won't be getting better. As such, unless we see a chance for recovery, he will be leaving us physically tomorrow. My biggest regret is not taking more pictures over the years, but cherish that you did, as ur golden bears an uncanny resemblance to Madison. God Bless u, draco, Madison, & us all. "Until we meet again, my friend"
@dempsebr Please know that Madison and Draco and all the other loved pets are waiting for us on the other side at the Rainbow Bridge... I'm truly sorry for your loss... It is easily one of the hardest acts I had to endure. My heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time.
Thank you. I've been under so much stress lately. Watching your video was the trigger I needed to start crying and get it all out. I've lost dogs, and I feel your pain. Sorry for your loss.
The video's been finished for about 3 minutes now and I'm still sobbing. What a beautiful, beautiful dog. I can't even fathom what you're feeling...all I know is that my heart goes out to you and your family. Thank you for having the strength and courage to put this video together and then for sharing it with us. I'm so, so terribly sorry for your loss and wish I had the words to make the pain go away. I have two bassets and can't imagine life w/o them. Praying for you and your family.
@Jsto75 Thank you for your message. I originally created this video as a way to help me with my grief but since posting it have received many messages telling me how others have related to his story and I decided to leave his video up for others to share in his memories.
My golden died today at age 13. So sad to see her lifeless body on the floor -- once so full of energy. Can't stop crying; I've had her since I was in kindergarten, and I'm now a senior. It'll be hard not having her anymore. :'(
@hutchcast I'm so sorry for your loss. Your puppy lived 13 wonderful years and shared many fun and loving memories with you. Although she may be physically gone I'm sure she is still with you in spirit. Cherish her memories and consider sharing your love with another dog when the right time comes.
What a wonderful tribute to an obviously well loved dog. He sure loved his tennis ball! I have personally lost 2 goldens and can relate to this so well. I cried through the whole thing.....Thank you for sharing.
Nice video. Btw, I invite you to watch my latest video, 'A tribute to Our Pet Dogs' (There r three parts) in my YouTube channel,' GeorgeCMaliakal'. Hope you like it. And if so , do share it with your friends.
The saddest words I've ever seen..."Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened."...Your video is inspirational! I am so sorry for your loss...may his spirit live with you forever, and endure always :)
How very beautiful....it was clear that you loved your precious golden very much. It is so hard to lose them. I lost my 2 goldens 18 years ago (they died 8 months apart) and I have never really gotten over it. They were my "kids" and my joy. I still think of them all the time and know someday we will be reunited when they meet me over the Rainbow Bridge. My heart goes out to you in your loss.
Oh how it hurts to see someone that felt the hurt you feel. We put our golden Starr down last July but it feels like just yesterday. We lost her to Cancer :( thank you for sharing your memories with me i am hoping to make a movie shortly.
@Joe22c I am so sorry for your loss. Dogs become family members and it hurts so much when we lose them. Other dog lovers understand what you're going through. I loved my golden, Abigail, so much. She also was 11 when she died from cancer. She was my best friend. She died 8 months ago and I still cry sometimes. I am looking forward to getting another golden because they truly are special gifts from God.
Definitely! I think I won't be getting another dog for a while though, I'm thinking when I'm older. Maybe get a carpeted office so I can bring em to work haha.
It definitely does suck when people don't understand; a friend of mine actually said something like "Hey Joe, sorry to hear about your loss. I know it hurts almost as much as losing family."
I mean, I appreciated her gesture and everything, but he wasn't "like family" - he *was* family. Ahh, some ppl just don't understand.
My Champ died in my arms March 10 and L learned what it means to lose something you love so much but his soul is free from a body that does not work. Be there with him and tell him to say hi to Champ at the Rainbow Bridge
I'm sorry that you lost your dog... I'm actually going through the same thing right now, except my dog is almost 15 and he's just old... can't walk anymore, etc....It's really hard cause I've had him since I was 14 and I'm almost 29 now...he marked an era in my life...just really heartbreaking.. But, I think creating a tribute is something that I would like to do for my dog as well. Thanks for sharing yours, you had a beautiful dog!
That is so sad!I once owned a old male Golden Retriever, but I didn't own him long enough to see hom go.I was moving and rehomed him.I am so sad for you even though this happened a long time ago!R.I.P. I am so sorry for your loss.I hate loosing pets!
A beautiful tribute tracing the dog from puppy to his final days; we lost our Penny 2 years ago and she really was part of the family; and we miss her dearly even tho' we got a madly energetic springer spaniel bitch but she will never replace Penny. The GT s have such a wonderful temperament, they are perfect with toddlers.
Oh my god. I can totally relate. I lost my Prince more than 2 years ago but I still get teary eyed when I think about it. The few years these wonderful creatures spend on earth with us is truly a gift unlike anything.
I lost my golden, Abby, 4 months ago. I still cry because I miss her so much. It's such a personal grief because not everyone would understand. She was my best friend and gave me unconditional love. She knew when I was feeling bad and would put her face under my chin and rest there. She had such soft fur and I miss having her there when I'm feeling sad. This sounds weird, but SHE would be the one to comfort me in this loss. I miss her so much it breaks my heart.
I'm so sorry to hear about Abby. I understand how you feel, I still cry too. It's profound, the bond we can have with our dog. & that is so true, that they are the ones that always would've comforted us, in our time of deep sadness.
I pray that they are all happy & peaceful, at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for us to be reunited with them. They really are special creatures & are an absolute God send.
Danny is resting at our Pet Funeral Home, awaiting his burial this Spring.
Such a beautiful dog. May his memory live forever in your hearts and may his spirit rest for eternity. I kinda know what it is like. Two summers past we though our beloved dog was coming down to Cancer. After tests were down we found out the lumps he had were inactive tumors. To this day they have not returned.
@mainewmn My Heart Goes out to you i have been through this with four dogs of mine in the past who has Left me. I have my Lab but i never forget about my other dogs. this video is very Touching. and as my name says it. you know our pets have crossed over to a place we call rainbowbridge
I'm so sorry for your loss of Draco. Recently (Dec.9/09), we too lost our dog, Danny (a yellow lab, golden retriever cross). We were blessed to have him in our lives for 3 years. He was 9 (we adopted him from the SPCA at 6 yrs). He had to be put down, as he was sufferering from a Mass Cell Tumor. He was our first dog & came to us, very well trained & was so kind & gentle. The pain of loosing him, is overwhelming. If you search 'Oromocto SPCA' you will see our tribute to him.
Thank you for your kind reply, I sincerely appreciate it. I still cry when I watch his video ~ i just want to reach in & pat his ears & give him a kiss on the cheek & give him a big hug! (like I always did when he was with us). He had the softest ears :) In his last few weeks, sometimes he'd wake trembling, & suffered 2 seizures over his last weekend, & I spent much time crouched down, with him, patting him & telling him how loved he was. We had him put down, at home, with his family by him.
I lost my golden, Abigail, 4 months ago. She was my best friend and I miss her so much. She would let me rub her ears and then she would snuggle her head under my chin and rest there. She knew when I needed her to be by my side. I miss her soft fur and her smell. Cancer took her much too early, but the decision I made was the kindest thing I could do for her.
I am so sorry for your loss. It helps to know that others understand this deep, personal grief.
I lost Bubba the same day. She was a Golden too and her story is similar. We found her in the street. She came directly to our door and started giving us her paw as saying hello. She was perfect. Last Novembert a cancerous tumor appeared in one of her paws. For a month it was hell for me. I just couldn't accept it. Now that she is gone, I am in peace. God bless all the creatures that make our lives happy. I hope to see her in heaven.
God bless you. It is really hard, isn't it? when you know the end is coming for them, because they are fighting a loosing battle. His tumour was at the base of his tail, rendering it inoperable. The Vet had hoped (as I did), when we disovered the first lump, in the summer, that it would be a slow growing type, but sadly, that didn't prove to be the case & it matastesized over Oct & Nov. We kept him comfortable, for as long as possible. I sure miss his kind & gentle spirited companionship.
What a beautiful and moving tribute to a beloved friend! I cried through the entire video, as I also have lost my best friends, and devoted family members. Know that Draco will always be part of you, and you will always have those precious memories and love for him, in a special place in your heart. I know you will someday be reunited with him, and that he will wait for you, on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, to spend eternity together!!!
i am so sorry for him.you made me cry. i lost my groenendael girl this july after 10 years and i know how much it hurts.i miss her everyday! they will always be in our hearts...
Although the pain gets easier to bear they always remain in part of our hearts.. I still think of him sometimes.. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure your puppy was very lucky to have had you in her life!
What a beautiful boy and video! I am sorry for your loss. I lost my beautiful golden boy in October 2008 and I still miss him every day. They have a special way of touching our hearts.
golden retrievers are the best by far , when we looses one we all fell eachothers pain with these videos , you now when your dogis getting to an age of death because its face goes white and is nose is not black anymore , please say if you think this comment is sad, thankyou xx
Thank you and I know its scary and painful, to think of this. Cherish each day like it was your last, thats what we did when he was diagnosed with cancer and each day we knew could be our last. He let us know when it was time.
this make me really cry a lot. because i was thinking when my precious dog is leaving me behind. he is now 11 years old bichon frise and its frightening me when will that day come.
Your golden retriever was precious and beautiful dog
I got Sammy while Draco was still alive.. So I had her help me get through it.. But NOTHING will ever replace Draco and no one will ever take his place... I love Sammy to pieces, and she is a wonderful dog with many fine qualities but they are different then then the ones Draco had, not any less important or loving just, different.. You love each dog for their own unique qualities, but dont rush it.. When you are ready there will be a dog for you..
i love my golden like everything in the world but i wanted a good dog that was a best friend but i never want to see it go and that wat worries me the most i will get other dogs but it just wont feel the same ,, so sorry for you tragic loss
No its very sad when they go, and no other dog will be the same as this one but I promise you that its possible to have great relationships with other dogs.
sorry for your lost, i lost my dog last year she was a yorkshiere terrier and i was desvasted it´s so painfull but noe i have a pug and she ´s so adorable
This is a beautiful video and i'm sorry about your loss i lost my golden retriever 2 days ago and its hard to get through! Golden Retrievers are great dogs!
This is sad to watch. He was an absolute beauty! Just look at all of those wonderful times you've had with him. I'm sorry for your loss. I honestly wouldn't know what to if I lost my dogs. It'll be hard when they go. I loved this video & the music is extremely beautiful as well as sad. If you don't mind, may I know what's the name of this piece? Thanks.
wow thanks for posting this video i lost my first golden retriever at 15 man she was just the best darn thing i will never forget her duchess i just want you to know how much i cared for you i hope you you can hear me i will alwasy cry for you i have another golden but to me its just not the same dog thanks this really help me alot im so sorry for you loss i now how you feel come talk to me when your having hard times
this video made me teary-eyed, reminded me of my golden who died at 14 about a year ago. will always miss him. there is something special about your first dog.
i miss my dog daisy she was a fighter and we all loved her but she was 13 and god called her some day ill see again and ill never forget her never ever.i am very sorry i know how it feels i will never feel the same way again.with a nother dog.
Very beautiful and moving video. Your dog is very beautiful and I am very sorry for your loss, I have had to go throught losses and it is difficult to looses your best friends, I have had golden retrievers all my life they are amazing dogs, my deepest condolences.
I'm sorry for your loss. I am close to you, also I have lost too soon my special boy Max... it 's a great pain and my heart it 's broken...
It was so unexpected. My great and strong special boy... They will stay forever in our hearts...They are family... the golden are angels... Draco was wonderful!!! All the best...
I am so truly sorry for your loss of such a beautiful Angel. I know how hard it is to loose a part of the family, but I hope the memories will always make you smile and not cry
My deepest condolences to you for loosing two friends in such a short time. I still cry some days and its almost a year for us. I think you need to allow yourself plenty of grief time, and then one day you will be able to think of your friends and smile. I'm sure Tucker, Shelby and Draco are all playing on the other side together with lots of fields to run in and lots of lots new balls to play with.
My condolences on your loss of a beautiful Angel. I felt the pain and there is nothing worse then loosing a best friend.... May the memories of him make you smile and not cry.... Again I am so sorry 4 your loss
My God what the heck do you do to me the pain and tears just comes in waves..
I have actually lost a lot of dogs through the years but there was one a german shep I had She was my soul mate I am sure of it.. I lost her to spinal cancer in 2003.. I can't get rid of the pain of not having her with me by my side.. I went to counseling to cope with the pain from the loss but it didn't help.. This vid has really moved me and has a huge meaning to me.. I am so sorry for the loss of your golden..
Draco wasn't my first dog, but he was my soul mate like you put it. His passing left a huge empty hole in my heart. One that will never be filled until the day him and I are reunited again.
I guess it's because it's how we see it in our own minds
Flash of images (darn i'm still crying!!!) memories of just moments we took for granted.Just all the happy moments forever etched in the mind and then the icy cold sobering realization that we lost it all in a matter of seconds and are so helpless to stop it from happening! I have lost many pets in my years and every time it hurts the same
Thank you. I don't think I will ever get over Draco. But time makes the pain all more bearable. I still think of him every day, and every day I thank God for allowing me to have the time i did with my precious boy.
I don't think we ever get over their loss. Believe me I understand your pain. I lost my beloved westie 4 years ago & my beloved basset 1 year ago & I've never gotten over the loss of either one.
Thank you for your comment, Draco was and will always be very special to us. Although he was ultimately euthanized the last pictures show our last hours/minutes together before it took place. One of Draco's sinful pleasures was candy my older son wanted to make sure he got his own bag before we had to say good bye and that's what the pictures show, the boys feeding the candy to him. Once again thank you for your comment, even thought it took place almost a year ago we still miss him greatly.
I am so sorry for the loss of your dog. He was absolutely gorgeous. This video was so o sad. And the music made it even sadder. I cried when I saw the last pasrt of it. It looked like he was being euthanized. That's the most hardest thing to do. May he rest in peace.
Thank you for this video, we just put ours down today. He had cancer and for the past few months it progressed rather quickly. He would of been 10 in January. Thank you, and I too am sorry for your loss.

Take care.

Thank you for adopting an older dog and sheering your wonderful home with him.

I hope to see her in heaven.
rutsableich 2 years ago

I am so sorry for the loss of your golden..
orangie84 3 years ago
Draco wasn't my first dog, but he was my soul mate like you put it. His passing left a huge empty hole in my heart. One that will never be filled until the day him and I are reunited again.

omg i started crying 2 seconds into it, i know what it feels like to loose a pet. do u know who this song is by??? what its called??
animalsjt5 3 years ago
Thank you for your comment. The song is called Truly, Madly, Deeply.
mainewmn 3 years ago
God I wasn't the only one?
I cried like a 3 year old....
This is a very powerful touching vid
I guess it's because it's how we see it in our own minds
Flash of images (darn i'm still crying!!!) memories of just moments we took for granted.Just all the happy moments forever etched in the mind and then the icy cold sobering realization that we lost it all in a matter of seconds and are so helpless to stop it from happening! I have lost many pets in my years and every time it hurts the same
orangie84 3 years ago
Thank you. I don't think I will ever get over Draco. But time makes the pain all more bearable. I still think of him every day, and every day I thank God for allowing me to have the time i did with my precious boy.
mainewmn 3 years ago
I don't think we ever get over their loss. Believe me I understand your pain. I lost my beloved westie 4 years ago & my beloved basset 1 year ago & I've never gotten over the loss of either one.
Abbysmom303 2 years ago
Thank you for your comment, Draco was and will always be very special to us. Although he was ultimately euthanized the last pictures show our last hours/minutes together before it took place. One of Draco's sinful pleasures was candy my older son wanted to make sure he got his own bag before we had to say good bye and that's what the pictures show, the boys feeding the candy to him. Once again thank you for your comment, even thought it took place almost a year ago we still miss him greatly.
mainewmn 3 years ago
I am so sorry for the loss of your dog. He was absolutely gorgeous. This video was so o sad. And the music made it even sadder. I cried when I saw the last pasrt of it. It looked like he was being euthanized. That's the most hardest thing to do. May he rest in peace.
