  • he was right back there, good forecast chris

  • hell no dude. thats so easy. asus sux and apple will always be better than any other company out there. that little computer cant be compared to anything apple has.

  • @sakMFKR asus costs 2 times less than any portable mac

  • well i dont think the desktop computer will be gone soon - the market has at least another 20 years I say but in portable terms, i just think they will get thinner and thinner, maybe they will be as thin as film like you see on sci-fi movies but i honestly think the only that will happen is they will get thinner and more powerful

  • I have a BB Storm and basically all I really use when I'm not home, well unless I need to do video/photo editing and even pixel art. Than I take my Macbook Pro with me, but wish it could fit in my pocket..

  • iphone or ipod touch when just surfing but eepc when you need to work or t furfill real work like lots of typing to do...

  • LINUX OR WINDOWS ON A PSP 3000 so thing the same as the ipod touch

  • lol i dont have to worry about this question! i have BOTH! lol

  • until they make a phone run at least windows xp i wont be calling a phone a computer...

  • windows phone stupid duhh

  • Iphone>netbook

  • If all you are doing is reading blogs and checking email, sure the phone seems like a better solution.

But I would take an EEE if I was without a computer for a week over a phone.

  • touch/iphone

  • i've got an Eee PC and an iPod Touch. they r both great. i use vnc on the ipod to access my Eee PC. my thought on the future of computing all together is portability. you can fit a whole computer into a device that you can fit in your pocket. like the sony UMPC and the Eee PC. or even as small as the iPod Touch.

  • whats up my name is javon nd my comment or question is about the nvidia tegra apx 2500 phone and tegra 600 mid and intel moorestown mid and i think they both will kill the iphone email me with a response

  • no it's Not a computer. I'll stop saying the IPhone is shit when it'll have a USB port and I can install Linux or Windows on it. so far it's a just a pretty little gadget

  • they need apple to make there own portable computing and they will make a revolutuionay product causing other companies to compete with it like the iphone

  • This is a very good question. I would like to see more videos about Ipod Touch and Iphone.

  • this guy makes sense!

  • u can play halo ce all setting's on high and some on normal at 25 35 FPS

  • i thort the EEE PC is cheaper than Iphone

  • I think i may buy one.

  • Chris raises a good point. The Iphone/touch does not have a webcam though, and cannot take pictures. If apple included one in the future, they would be GOLD.

As a college student, though, document editing is an absolute MUST.

If I had a choice, I would get the eee just because of that feature.

  • iphones rock but eee pc suits me better as a student though :)

  • XBOX PORTABLEEEEE

  • like that will ever happen. but i did see some1 on you tube that had a pap with the 360 ui.

  • I think this will be more developed in the future.

  • when i am able to - iphone all the way

  • the asus is better because you have windows and you can have any of your files on it unlike the iphone or touch.

  • a computer is something that has a micro chip in it

  • "THIS is a computer!" And I thought it was a phone. Unfortunately, the iPhone and iPod Touch weren't designed as "general purpose computers" and so it's difficult to make them act like such.

  • i love the ipod touch, that i why i am going to get one soon because if i am go out and there is wireless internet i can go on the internet on my ipod touch.you can do that with the psp, but the only thing with the internet on the psp it is very slow.

  • LoL Epc got owned

  • I got a palm TX and I love it... has all the same fetures and is about the same except the screen dosent last as long... and its only wifi 802.11 B limited

  • im actually glad i found this. and even more reason why im gettin' my iphone this june. awesome, nvr thought about it this way. n tell u the truth, i dont think i want to spend money on a macpro n e more now too. WOW! stunnin' relavation. thats $400 i will be savin' on another pc. thanks chris, but ultimately Gordon! but i need wi-fi so the itouch is up there too.NAW!im takin the iphone, lol!

  • Where can I download Linux for free?

  • What distro?

  • i like both.with reasons.the ipodtouch, you can go anywhere with ir and it fits in your pocket.the asus eeepc,it has a larger screen and well u can just lay it on a desk like all laptop do and yea not like the ipodtouch that you have to hold all the time.

  • i use a Nseries internet tablet. and, i prefer it than the regullar laptops when im on the go. UMPC, are for sure the future of computers. just that, we will have wirelles keyboard, and monitors for them when we go. into them }. Check the "Umpc future" video

  • i think the iphone is a better choice... for me when i travel its more convenient taking the itouch.... its less space and like you said you can carry it in your pocket... and the only real problem is that you need to find a wireless connection.. so i think the i touch or i phone you would be the best choice for someone looking portability and quick easy & access

  • iphone ftw

  • I rather want a small computer for checking my mail etc. I have tried to use my mobile phone to read mail, surf the web and so on but I think a small portable computer is better.

  • I want the Asus Eee pc. Who cares if its 4gig just get a external hard drive

  • I think if ur traveling u use more an ipos touch or iphone that the PC

  • you have to remember flash which ipod cant do

  • they will probably make flash apps for the app store

  • I use both!!

  • eeePC running Windows? you're evil =[

what, should we base the next eeePC-type device on PowerPCs or SPARC or something?

  • I'd rather have something with a real keyboard. In fact, I'd settle for nothing less than a 15 inch laptop.

  • Im always guna keep my full-sized laptop. Even as mobile devices are developed laptop technology will advance more also and laptops will always be one step ahead of compact devices... And I use my computer for long times, that means I was a big screen and fullsized keyboard!

  • And 7" and 9" screens are waaayyy to small for a laptop. Ultra-portables are used for editing documents and making presentations and the Eee PC is crap at that. I want to see someone running Microsoft Office 2007 on it. The smallest screen that I would use on a laptop would be a 12". Eee PC sucks!

  • i think laptops/imac-like designd computers are going to replace bulky tower PCs and computers, but OF COURSE will still be selling for scientists and movie professionals. and i think iphone/ipod touch-like devices will replace laptops.

  • Completely depends on where i am...and how LONG i'm going to be there. ..i'm not staring at a 4 inch screan for any extended period of time. personally i'd go for the mini notebook

  • apple itouch is not a good product for surfing the web and ASUS EEE laptop is meant for people who want a more portable computing system that has a full keyboard. if you want a portable device for wed surfing then the answer is very simple get your self a internet tablet i recommend the Nokia n800 is perfect for web browsing chatting on msn and it has a built in webcam and mic so u can have video chats with your friends and the cost of this device is about 200 bucks. and it can fit your pocket=)

  • yes it is. At least the iPhone and iPod touch come with a better OS. Xandros is a POS, they should have pre-installed Ubuntu instead and the iPhone is truly portable. I can't carry a laptop in my pocket, can I? And the iPhone is far better than the Nokia n8000 or any other phone for internet browsing. Like Pirillo says, no phone has such good implementation as the iPhone

  • I think that both devices are great. Other than size, the EEE PC can have all the capabilities of an iphone. Asus makes an 8 gig model, the 8G, plus the sky is the limit on the memory card. Most people that would have a true need for a device such as this would carry a day planner anyway, so this basically becomes and electronic day planner. For the tech-head that needs every new gaget (like me:) GET BOTH!

  • ram geek, computer nerd, gigabyte me

  • iphone

  • depends on where i am gonna use it..

  • i belive that anohter company should make someting to compete with the iphone or ipod touch that takes care of the flaws of the iphone or ipod touch is there anything out there that is similar to what i just described?

  • Nope.

  • yea there are a few but they all have the same problem the browser sucks on them iphone has the best browser

  • I'd like to have a iPhone but it's not worth the money!

I don't need all kinds of time spending stuff when I don't have that much time to spend.

  • I'd choose the iphone over the eeepc if it had a keyboard I could really use, instead of that poor excuse of a keyboard it has right now.

I like the phones with the slide-out keyboard better.

  • Since I already have one, I prefer to use the iPod Touch, and I do prefer it to the Eee PC for the price and size. However, I can see a good market in future small notebooks!

  • lol we are mobile enough this man has no kids and dont understand how he is ruining childrens communication

  • The iPhone also has pre-configured internet on the go aswell where as the EeePC doesn't even have a slot for a data card.

  • I have my iphone with me all the time but.... I like having my mac book pro to

  • i use my laptop its a acer at 2.5Kg its big but 4 school and home its good 4 me but my phone is good 4 MP3s and mp4s but at only 512MB to my laptops 80GB

  • since i recieved my ipod Touch, its been the best portable device ever, i can browse the web and my music, even make calls using VoIP over Wi-Fi.... apple sells you a compelling experience and makes you want more of it.

  • If I had a choice I would have the iPhone, if only it was sold in South Africa

  • What about the OQO? - I love it. Full OS(Vista), 120GB hdd etc etc...but it's rather expensive for the average consumer.

  • Interesting, the advertisement is gone again.

  • I totally agree, I don't know why people buy ( make ) eee PC. What is it for ? It's between Laptop and Phone and no use ... you can carry your laptop easily so just use it, more portable you can put your phone in pocket ..

    I'd say it's no future lol :p

  • i think it mostly depends on what you use it for, checking facebook/ Twitter and maybe a quick personal email, iPone/iTouch. Updating a blog, writing a paper/article, longer business emails, EEE PC (or the ultralight of your choice.

I would likely go with the EEE PC to run Linux on. Im sure the iphone will soon have an office suit, but ill stick with Xubuntu. Plus id think Dvorak would be much easier to get on EEE than iwhatever.

  • i have the voyager and i love it has everything i need

  • Plug in a keyboard and mouse to your iphone.

  • People, especially techies, want their entire computing experience all in one place and as small as possible. Hence the popularity of the iPhone. I think the the future of portable computing is right in your pocket.

  • but they also like large (relatively) keyboards and expandability.

  • Good point

  • EEE PC OWNZ IPHONE!!!!!!

  • nice vid chris. good and informative. keep up the good work!

  • I hate some computers

  • true......

  • ur an idiot.. why would you leave stupid comment like this??.. i wanted to be the first one...

  • if you are speaking of a line of morons who make dumbass comments, yes sir, you are first.
