@ClareJ7 good to hear your cat has managed it - possibly the beep it makes might help? Biscuit was a very talkative cat with a big set of lungs lol! This vid was the first day and after this they all used it very easily. Also were much happier that other cats were not coming in anymore stealing their food and spraying. Saved my a fortune in dry cleaning in the end.
@navyman4 It did'nt take them very long, you are quite right - the difficulty they were having, which I resolved, was the height the pet porte had to be due to shape of door - placing a couple of bricks outside the door raised them to the right height for the sensor
@Drumster2000 actually there is a big difference between a 'cat flap' and Pet Porte, which is the correct name for this item.- any fool knows that lol
Fitted the latest version in place of my old PetMate magnetic one today, having first waved the sensor over both cats while they were eating earlier. Eddie has used it already so hopefully Pasha will do so later. So now I'm just looking forward to reduced food bills and more confident moggies. :¬)
Buiscuit has a brilliant meow, I hope they worked it out in the end, my cat is blind, I thought he'd have trouble with it but he's been fine

I don't get why NO ONE figures out that you have to start slow.
Leave the cat flap open at first.
Let the cat go in and out a few times a day with it open.
Eventually, you close the flap and the cat will go through without hesitation. It won't matter if you had a flaming sword on the flap.
It took me only 5 minutes a day for two days. That's 10 minutes.
