One of the absolute worst wrestlers EVER on the microphone. His athletic ability was also questioned by many wrestlers back in the day as he was very clumsy while performing many simple moves. Million dollar body and a 5 cent head pretty much sums it up.

Luger was awesome. He was one of the guys who carried the NWA and WCW for a long time. He gets a bad rap. Not a great worker, but you can't deny his presence. He was awesome to look at and really gave his best most of the time. I always enjoyed watching him whether heel or face.

Lex essentially ended Nikita Koloffs glory run if you will. When he beat Koloff for the U.S. Title at the great American Bash 1987, Koloff was not the same. His popularity among the fans startted going down, and fans started to boo him more, and Nikita never recovered his career after that match. Also that Match was where Lex Lugers career REALLy started off and got going in full gear, and the fans started to cheer for him even more after he one the United States belt from Nikita Koloff

Personally I think Lex was better than people give him credit for. Okay he wasn't great, but when you're a young green wrestler in the same company with guys like Ric, Arn, & Tully, of course you'll pale in comparison. Yeah Lex was no technical genius, but I can't say I never enjoyed a match of his. I'd rather watch him over guys like Hogan, Cena, or any of these new guys in WWE anyday.

and he certainly wouldnt let the Fans be vocal and real like NWA fans did in the 80's on the tv show and just RIP wrestlers apart.

Exaactly I know what you mean. For example, Notice how popular Lex was even as a heel. In all his matches with Nikita Koloff in 1987 including the Great American Bash 1987 in that cage match where luger totally dominated Koloff 95% of the time, If you watch that match, you'll notice that perhapes 80% to 90% of the fans cheered for Lex Luger, and remember, Lex Luger was the heel and Nikita was the face, but the fans still cheered for Lex, and also Koloff was booed out of the Arena when he lost.

Notice also in that Nikita Koloff vs Lex Luger match at the Great American Bash where Luger won the title, if you watch it, why is it you think that you could not see the fans at all, they were like 30 feet from the wring. I am almost certain that it was to cover up the fact that by far the majority of the fans were cheering for Luger, and if they had shown the fans, and added much more light, mit would have appeared on television that Luger was the face and Koloff the heel.

If they had put on the lights on to the point where you could clearly see the crowd, people watching on TV would be thinking that Lex Luger was the good guy, especially if you listen how many women were clearly cheering for Lex, if they had shown that, the T.V audience would have seriously thought that Lex was by far the fan favourite (in fact in all his matches with Koloff he was, even when we was scripted as a heel and Koloff the face) Fans, and definately all the ladies cheered for Lex!

I am saying this because I feel that the NWA was also tempering with the fans alittle and maybe adding some pre-recorded cheers and pops from fans in the past cheering for someone, in order to give the appearance that Nikita Koloff was actually liked and cheered for. Because the first time I saw the Nikita Koloff vs Lex Luger U.S. title match,at the Great American Bash, I just felt something wasn't right. I mean you actually heard fans cheering for Nikita, even what sounded like LADY fans, and..

I was thinking that this can't be, just by looking at the wrestlers, Luger being this handsome looking, well developed body, and long blond hair pure American boy, and the other guy, and nasty looking bald guy who was not even in lugers league in terms of looks, he didn't have the muscles, he had a shaved bald head (which obvioiusly was not at all attractive to women), he wore that silly singlet, he spoke with an ugly accent, and yet you heard many of the fans cheering for Nikita..

Cont'd, but most surprisingly you also heard some lady fans cheering for Nikita at certain points in that match, so that just didn't make sense to me, how fans (also remember back then at least 90% of the fans thought wrestling was real) could cheer for a bald Russian. So when you think about it, the lights being turned off where the fans were, it made the crowd reaction scene look neautral with us not seeing them, therefore they probably added recorded cheers whenever Nikita did something...

Because I am possitive that Nikita Koloff was NOT cheered as much as it appeared he was with the sound of the fans reaction, Because how could that be when, whenever Luger did something to Koloff the fans always gave a big pop and cheer, especially from the ladies. Check out at the end of that match when Luger gets Koloff in the back breaker, the fans TRULY cheered for Lex. If the lights were on it would have looked like typical Hulk Hogan 80's finish as opposed to a heel winning over the face.
