Én egy Brahms-zenei esten hallottam, ahol Brahms életét mutatták be live zeneszámok példáján, hogy Brahms jó barátja volt a Schumann családnak, és amikor Klara Schumann egyszer beteg volt, hogy Klara egy kicsit szórakozhassék, írt neki egy-két partitúrát, az V. tánc részei abban is benne voltak. Hát Brahmsnak ilyen tökéletes memóriája és hallása volt.

No, it is definitely Brahms. As for the meaning of "csardas" -- it derives from the word ?"csarda", the Hungarian for a country inn frequented by sheep heards, outlaws and other rural characters. But the dance itself probably originated in the rhytm of a recruitment dance of the XVIII century. Peter

Actually "Csárda" means a place where the townsfolk and not so people went to enjoy themselves. It's like an inn. And Csárdás is a popular dance of these people. :)

It is a hungarian gipsy melody, that once heared J.Brahms and composed this piece to make happy Clara Schubert. Additionally to the strings are at the beginning some flutes playing the main melody, that makes the sound much more delightful.
