A great lesson! Just one question - in Open Db tuning, shouldn't G be lowered to F (insted of Eb)? Than you fret only one string - fourth string, second fret - to get that lovely chord.

@bullethead, Oh. Well, I have been counting from top to bottom. I guess I'm just stupid. lol. And I tried to tune my 1st string...the highest one...with an online tuner. I have amazing sense of tone and tune, I guess I was just having an issue with that one tone. And mine was tuned to standard tuning. EADGBE.... When I changed the tuning to yours....well...I guess I messed up. Oh well.

I tried really hard to do this, but apparently, I really shouldn't attempt to tune it by myself, because i couldn't get the 6th string to tune....I broke it....Grr. Oh well!

@TheJenna2009 -- Sixth string as in your low E? String numbers are 1,2,3,4,5,6 from bottom to top. Either way though, you're tuning everything down, not up so nothing should have broken. If you don't have a chromatic tuner, there are apps on the iphone and android phones that actually have tuners. the one I have on my phone is gstrings.

If you don't have access to any of these, just tune your guitar to mine when I play all of the strings individually.

I too was interested in learning the song, and I knew it was in a different tuning. Ive seen acual chord sites say that they stay in regular tuning and play with the capo on the first fret. and it just didnt seem right. then I went on and watched aaron lewis play it live. and he did not have a capo.. your video is the only one I came across that showed the tune change, and how to play it the exact way. nice job,I write my own muscic, but had to learn this.. and the language was funny. thanks man
