Wow the camera is showing more Wayward Youth(dancing) than Normals. Also shows George and YES GAY PEOPLE WERE THERE TOO, there are 3 in this clip alone. And since we were here and YOU weren't just shows how low on the totom pole of life you are. Which was already established as soon as you made the mascara comment. Thanks to whoever posted the video. It was great to see a few friends that aren't here anymore. And NO they did not ALL die of AIDs wanker homophobe!
My dad was the drummer for wayward youth. Not really related to this vid but i noticed them mentioned in a couple comments (not to mention search keywords for a lot of these old vids). I know Darius, my dad still keeps in touch with him and he visits every now and then and always comes to our annual new year's eve party. Would like to find some video of them if it's floating around. But I know all about the normals and "pogo-ing" from stories my dad has shared with me. Great music from that era.
Yes that is Robin and Rick. Also Darius from Wayward Youth and Mandeville Mike. And it was George too. Nice to see this thanks for posting it, whoever.
p.s. Isn't that the girl singer from the Wayward Youth in the red top in this vid? Was her name Robin? It was a long time ago. But those are so a pair of Rockin' Rick Connick eyebrows next to her at about 3:15.
So worried I'm going to show up in the audience in one of these. Got any Rat Finks? I remember George, eecziggy. There's some pics of him on that Jimmy's / Jeds group on Facebook.
If this is fellow cheesegirl, Judy, from the Uptown Winery days, say at least 20 years ago, let me know. I was your friend who had a black dog named Sadie!
David, Charlie, Chris, Steve, I miss you guys. Larry the Punk, sorry I lost touch. Carlos - Microsoft, Ricky - Simpsons, Bobby - New York, Me - Houston. Sure would like to get a copy of the tapes C.A. made at Changes, the NOC4PA, and that club on Harrison Ave. Those were wild times! How did I survive?
Mandeville Mike! I fondly remember you! Wasn't there a sweet song you did in gigs for a girl...apologies, but the name may not be right, but it was something like Oh Eileen, I love you more than any other..etc. I do remember you doing a rare, sweet song, with a girls name as the hook...as opposed to the hard stuff at the time. I'm so glad I got to see the punk scene in NO during my college years. Rock on Mike!
Mosh pit? Those kids are pogoing and doing a little slam dancing. Mosh pits are for white suburban kids that run around and punch each other in the face at Fall-Out Boy concerts. Moshing is something you do while listening to Anthrax. Slam dancing is something you would do at a Negative Approach concert. Pogoing is something you would see at an Adam and the Ants show.
What a nice surprise finding this! These guys were one of the first punk bands I ever saw, at the Island, Houston... about 1980 or so. They had a strong mod vibe, but much better than bands like the Jam.
And anyone who listens to 80s Hardcore has some nerve calling anything else "homo"...I bet you enjoyed that sweaty mosh-pit of half-naked boys a little too much back in "the day", sweetie!
Actually, if you read your first comment...and then my response, you may notice some similarities. I found them to be humorous. I did notice that you love rockabilly and thought that was really fucking funny! "Homo" was not a reference to anyone's sexual orientation, as I could care less who is fucking who. In other words, I was trying to be funny as well.
What is your fucking problem bitch??? Stick your fucking "punk-fag shit" up your ass motherfucker! Don't start talking your pathetic shit to me bitch! In other words since you are a fucking retard...shut the fuck up! Got it? Good.

This was definitely pre-traditional slam-dancing. This was closer to "the Pogo" era.

You can easily see how pogoing turned into slam dancing from this video.
Its a shame that it did. Pogoing is a lot more fun.
