Goosebump alert - absolutely thrilling. And I'm not ashamed to admit - what got me to discover this piece was the film Babe! I thought the soundtrack was beautiful and had to do some research to discover its origins in Saint Saens! Have loved E. Power Biggs since I was a little girl and first heard Bach's Tocata and Fugue in D Minor (or, as I knew it from old horror movies) (see? nothing in Hollywood is original!) THANK YOU so much for posting this marvelous music.
I had a string trio arrange this song as the entrance for my wedding. Luckily no one said "that'll do pig" to me at the wedding, ha ha, but the trio were very happy to not have to play cannon in D minor AGAIN. Even people who were not familiar with the piece were impressed by the choice. lots of laughs when I make the movie allusion! And no, I'm 5'5'' and 125 lbs. Hardly porcine in proportions.
@1978pkane I had the same idea for the same anti-canon-in-d reasons. Anti-Jesu-Joy and both Wagner's and Mendelssohn's bridal choruses too. Why do people go on over-playing these when there's SOOOOO much gorgeous music out there?

This is the finale. Nothing short of a multi thousand dollar electronics and speaker set up can come close to the real thing...and some times exceed it.
Thank you John, I do appreciate your comments. I have also noticed the paucity of comments on video's...have almost 2000 views on a Domingo and, I think, three comments. I think many just like to listen. Better than some of the sites where huge name-calling fights ensue. Thank you, though. I love comments.
Very heraldic, and a somewhat eerie image resembling Duke University's chapel. I love contributing to the comments and ratings on your classical contributions. However, from my end...help! I No responses on mine. I receive lots of complimentary emails on my videos, but a paucity on comments and rating on same. Almost as though a lack of knowledge on how to might pertain? (As I'm submitting this comment/rating, I notice 18 visited this entry without comment. Somewhat remiss?) Regards, John
