  • This is not the actual soundtrack. It's a re-recording.

  • maybe the best soundtrack ever!!

  • The problem is that Steiner is trying to be like Wagner by streaming this music throughout the movie at all time. Yeah some of it is good and appropriate but at other times, the music was just an annoyance especially near the beginning of the movie. I feel the same way about John Williams in the Star War prequels. Even Wagner had brief pauses and he was writing opera not a movie!

  • *CHILLS*

  • Harold Mitchell plays lead trumpet in this soundtrack

  • Max Steiner won the Academy Award for his score for "Now Voyager" (1942)

  • Gone With The Wind, shall never ever be a movie like it, an era long gone with the wind

  • oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    harika

    çooooooooook çooooooooooook teşekkür....

  • I really hope no one tries to remake this- it cannot be done.

  • awesome. this is the best soundtrack of all times.

  • Who says kids don't like anything old? I'm an 18 year old media student and think this piece of music is absolutely stunning and somewhat breathtaking! Maybe it's because I actually appreciate films from the past, I don't know, but at least I do!

  • As good as it gets. Lots of money but all wisely spent on the best script, actors and sets. Burning of Atlanta was so frightful, the railroad tracks covered by thousands of wounded soldiers was sickening but real.

  • The author of this music is Max Steiner ( 1888 – 1971).

  • Max Steiner was indeed nominated for his score for the film...but lost the Oscar to Herbert Stothart for "The Wizard Of Oz", one of the other "great films" of 1939.

  • Frankly my dear, I don't give a dam......

  • the greatest movie theme writen of all time

  • There were five screenwriters involved with the film (four uncredited)- but the one who shaped the script the most was producer David O. Selznick himself.

  • The Best movie ever made...

  • I've seen this masterpiece many times starting in 1940 and am presently re reading the novel. Writing GWTW for the screen was a masterwork. Because of its complexity it demanded that some characters be cut from the script and it was done with much love and finesse. The casting was perfect as was everything else about it.. The best if the best.

  • This song is absolutely -gorgeous-.

  • -Professor Girafales!

    -Dona Florinda!

-Que milagre o senhor por aqui.

-Vim lhe trazer este ramo de flores

-Ahh sao lindas. Nao quer entrar para tomar uma xicara de cafe?

    -Nao seria muito encomodo?

-É claro que não, pode entrar!

    -Depois da senhora...

  • Perfeita essa musica

  • I do agree that the Wizard of Oz deserves the "Best Song" award they won (for Somewhere Over the Rainbow), but they definatley stole the "Best Score" award from Gone With the Wind.

  • ölüyorum film müziğine

    süpeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer

  • this is such an amazing movie. and the music makes it even better <3 such a classic(:

  • did the writer of this theme song ever win an acadamy award?????

  • @wizardbase ..Max Steiner - no :-/

  • @zazapk9 Yes, 2 or 3 times, exactly.

  • @zazapk9 Max Steiner indeed. He did win a few academy awards though. Sadly enough not for Gone with the Wind, probabaly his best known score nowadays.

  • @zazapk9 wow, that is a huge injustice.

  • @wizardbase He won 3. But not for this theme. I think "Wizard of Oz" took score that year.

  • @wizardbase

    Max Steiner. YES.

He's won at least 3 academy awards. Was nominated for 24. And was the first person to win the Golden Globe for best Musical Score.

And he wasn't the only author of the music for this film.

It was him, Hugo Friedhofer, Adolph Deutsch, Heinz Roemheld, and Joseph Nussbaum.

  • @orinanime Thankyou for taking the time to respond to my question

  • @wizardbase

not a prob. you're most welcome.

  • @wizardbase Too bad ....It was such a great theme song for the movie

  • This movie will always be the greatest movie of all time. No one can remake this movie! It just wouldnt be the same!

I remember the first time I ever watched this movie, my g.mother yelled at my dad because I was named after Scarlett, and I had never seen it, and they always called me Scarlett O'Hara. I finally asked why they called me it, and we went home and me and my daddy watched it together, and I fell in love with it!

  • No movie will EVER come close to this classic. Absolutely the best movie ever made!

  • I absolutely love this movie, it's my all time favorite movie ever! :D

  • THE DREAMS OF MR MULDOON is now out on AMAZON KINDLE @2.99.The publishers said this book would make a great film......you will love THE DREAMS OF MR MULDOON.Best wishes.

  • The haunting beauty of the theme song "TARA" is one for ALL TIME and never gets old

  • @davgabe I totally agree! :)

  • GREAT MOVIE

  • How can anyone not like this music? It's pure art!

  • Greatest theme song ever!!

  • The Greatest movie ever made.

    Bobby...

  • la mejor pelicula que he visto no cabe duda aunque soy joven la he visto cinco veces y es magnifica

  • Love for ever...

  • this musical version is good but it just doesnt have the punch of the original film version.

  • @burtonrules123 Thats so truee!

  • The best movie ever made.

    Bobby...

  • One of the best movies ever made.

It still holds up well today.

    Bobby..

  • Gorgeous music, 5 stars! *****

  • Wonderful depth, I can hear the separate instruments, the bass and there's even a harp in there! All combined they make an immortal melody greater than was heard by the original audiences'.

  • This music and movie is most beautiful in the world!

  • best movie ever:D love it so much

  • for me is "gone with the wind" the best movie of all time!! The book was moved relatively well and the mood of the past was caught really!!

one should not have made the continuation.

Nobody can as play "MAMY - SCARLET - RHETT - MELANIE - ASHLEY" etc. as the original occupation.

  • Merci!!Thanks!

  • @Siberiaeterna - il n'a pas de quoi ;-)

  • Classic movie. Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Olivia De Haviland, Leslie Howard, Hattie McDaniel and the rest of the cast of this epic film were perfect. SHOULD NOT BE REMADE. Coming to DVD & Blu-Ray in a 70th Anniversary Utimate Collector's Edition November 17, 2009.

  • aww that's awesome :-D

    thanks a bunch!!!

  • you're welcome. "Gone With The Wind" is also one of my favourite movies. Drama, war, passion, revenge. what more could you ask for in a sweeping spectacle? very good movie.

  • @ShakespeareHamlet I just bought it on Amazon for a good price! Can't wait to get it!

  • @ShakespeareHamlet definitely SHOULD NOT be remade. It's an amazing movie to be made in 1939 withe the little technology that they had then about a great theme and no modern technology now or 1000 years from now coulddo it any better. Maybe i should read Maragret Mitchell's originall novel some day, cheers.

  • @Bernie8330 A remake of this film is so absurd as a remake of Monalisa. I live in Brazil.

  • @ShakespeareHamlet To remake "Gone With the Wind" is such as to remake "Monalisa". I live in Brazil.

  • @ShakespeareHamlet your right some things just need to be left alone. and i love clark gable, hes definitly not hard on the eyes, and is a great actor.
